I'm one of those people who need music pumping through my veins while im working out, but the last couple of months Ive been getting bored with my current rotation and am having difficulty finding new replacement tracks. I should mention that what I exercise to is not what I normally listen to. When I'm working out I need aggressive music, so it's usually hypersexual nigbop music or commerialized shit with a fast beat like that annoyingly catchy "womanizer" song by Britney Spears So does anyone here workout on a routine basis, and if so, what do you do and what do you listen to? |

Doesn't your gym have access to work out mixes? There seems to be a large market in the USA. Anal Cunt does indeed seem like reasonable work out music if you require musical incentive.

I'm probably just stating something you already googled, but workoutmusic.com? It's tailored to what kind of work out you're doing and it gives a song list if you *ahem* obtain by download. |

lol. anal cunt reminds me of serp, and while ive always liked 'peaches', not for working out. err, for example, this song is a bit older, but it'll always be a constant for working out... [dohtml][/dohtml] my gym doesnt have access to workout mixes because i dont go to a place with a lot of bells and whistles. i do 2 hrs of cardio 4xs a week and an hr of strength training 3 times a week, so the music recycles pretty quick. mock and lori, ive gone to those sort of sites and scrapped what i could from them, but thanks all the same. i should probably just start searching "best hip hop" songs from the last couple decades and go from there.

Selected excerpt from the wiki article on Anal Cunt. Probably the most childish band ever formed. I should clarify that the music is total rubbish... --- Their next album I Like It When You Die developed the idea of containing insults in their songs, with a recurring song title being "X Is Gay", with X being a person, place, thing, idea or event. Examples include: "You're Gay", "Technology's Gay", "Recycling Is Gay", "The Internet Is Gay", "Windchimes Are Gay" and even "The Word 'Homophobic' Is Gay." Another recurring song title is "You X", with examples including "You Own a Store", "You Live in a Houseboat", "You Are an Orphan", "You Go to Art School", and "You Keep a Diary". The band themselves parody this with the songs "You (Fill In The Blank)" and "I'm in Anal Cunt". The 1999 album, It Just Gets Worse, took the idea of intentional offense a step further with more extreme examples of racism and sexism, which proved controversial, as they covered topics seen as taboo. Examples include: "You Were Pregnant So I Kicked You In The Stomach", "I Lit Your Baby On Fire" and "Women: Nature's Punching Bag." The lyrics to two of the songs on this album were censored and one of the songs on this album had its name changed from "Connor Clapton Committed Suicide Because His Father Sucks" to "Your Kid Committed Suicide Because You Suck" because they were working for a record label in Britain, where libel laws are very stringent. It was also in this album that the band began to joke about the Holocaust in numerous songs, including "I Sent Concentration Camp Footage to America's Funniest Home Videos". This theme of seemingly glorifying Adolf Hitler and his actions continued on their subsequent EPs, with songs such as "Hitler Was A Sensitive Man", "Body By Auschwitz", "I Went Back in Time and Voted for Hitler" and "Ha Ha Holocaust." |

Couldn't be any worse than 'Slayer', yeah, 'Slayer'. Suffer. Suffer I say. And to complete the experience, open them all up at once. |

Here's a thought: make a faux profile on Last.fm and add all your workout music. It'll suggest new artists. It's worth a try. I'm amazed at all the new artists I've found, I'd never even heard of, that I love. |

Sometimes when a good show is on, but my time is "up".... I just keep going because I'm consumed by the show. If I was only listening to music, I would be watching that little timer every 30 seconds (or more). |

I've just spent the past year fat and lazy (still, not as fat as Cygnus), but on a normal basis when I work out I had a mix - television for cardio, and music for strength training. I haven't done cardio in ages, but I've restarted my pilates at home with resistance training again, and I do it to music since I can't watch television for the majority of the poses. |

Yeah I've been exercising a lot lately due to considerable gaining of weight in the last year or so. Some people can carry off extra weight, but I just end up looking bloated and clinically depressed, so I have to lose it. |

I gain and lose very quickly..... With that said, I'm going to make this the year I do it. I just turned 30 and I don't want to live this decade of my life the way I lived the last. I never lost all my baby weight (when I had my son), and I blame that on the unhappy marriage I was in. It's time to heal myself of all the emotional garbage that holds me back from changing my life back to what it was before I met him. So, I've just decided that I'm not stopping until I am the weight and person I want to be. All I have to do is one day at a time.... |

Yeah me too. I know when I finally buckle down I can lose it pretty easily. The problem is that long procrastinating period before buckling down, when you know you have to buckle down but keep putting it off (and gaining more weight in the process). |

... and this isn't much help because it's only one song, but I've always liked "Callin' Out" by Lyrics Born for working out. There's something "I'm the shit" about it.... |
