Funny thing is, he's grown up being the white minority and as a result, he is actually "colour-blind" when it comes to race.

He loves anime and silk pajamas because of his peer-influence as well.

No dear, that would be because he's gay. (And by the way, talk about racism, ouch.)

Uhm.... no.

He thinks Asian "stuff" is cool because most of his good friends actually come from Asia. Like any normal kid, he wants to do what his friends are doing. He's always loved pajamas, but his favorite pair are the pair my parents brought back from China last year--black silk with red trim and gold and red dragon print. He wore them on pajama day this year and came back beaming because Yuetian and Anjo told him he looked "cool".

I kid you not when I say that in his class, his school even, my son is the minority. What "'Minority' entitlement complex" are you talking about? There is only one race here I can think that may have a "complex", but it may actually be with good reason.

*shrugs*

You're the one that came with a nondescript racial stereotype, I had to say something after all. Thus:

Silk pajamas + Anime* = gay

(* most popular contemporary medium to feature prominent homosexual characters)

When choosing educational institutions it's always advisable to take into consideration their ethnocultural make-up, the socioeconomic region and the quality of service in conjunction with their educational track record.

What kind of school is it?

Also, if he asks for eyelid corrections, make sure to wait until he's at least eighteen years old, he just might be able to grow out of that phase. :P Ahahahaha...

You foolish girl. Never heard of the 'minority' entitlement complex? It usually starts with the 21th century accusation of witchcraft, followed immediately with the term 'discrimination'. There is a whole state-subsidized multi-billion dollar industry involved in order to keep your Multicultural Fantasy alive.

No, never heard of it. Please, elaborate. And what state are you referring to, exactly?

Silk pyjamas and anime are "gay"? Someone better tell Asia.

Selective ignorance, with your reputation for auto-fire trolling, sure. I'm down with it.

You're not elaborating - What is the minority entitlement complex?

As for telling Sword her son is gay because he likes silk pyjamas and anime, the logical conclusion then would be for anyone who likes those things to be gay.

I don't expect you to actually defend any of your random remarks, you never do. I think it's hilarious the way you immediately point fingers at me when Henry asks you to defend your position - too scared to actually engage in a debate with him?

Better hurry and ask him what his favourite soap and toothpaste is, so you can really bathe yourself in your ass-sucking. Does he prefer paper or plastic? Deoderant or anti-perspirant?

I hope you didn't just fuck up your keyboard with the excitement of possibility.

It's the opposite of a 'white guilt' complex, both are products of LCM indoctrination. And no, that would not be the 'logical conclusion'. Where did he ask me to defend my position? Randomness would presuppose a non-linear discussion.

And what exactly are you vexing over? Toothpaste? Really? Just stay out of the LBP thread already, you barren sow.

Do you actually have children? No? Then I'd think it best to refrain from dispensing parental advise willy-nilly.

Why on earth would I take into consideration the ethnocultural make-up?

I wouldn't send my children to an all black school. Anyone white here who thinks that's acceptable is dislocated from reality.

But plenty of blacks go to schools where there are many (mostly) whites.

Since I don't believe a "white guilt" complex exists, much less is indoctrinated, you can understand how your feeble attempt at elaboration has failed utterly.

As for picking a school for it's ethnocultural make-up, not only is that ridiculous, it's delusional. What does the ethnicity of the students have to do with anything?

That's not a question of choice though. Britain is (still) mostly white.

I would send my children to an all black school but it would not be the first choice. Nor should it be.

I'm serious in my question here. How is that possible? Do you have magnet schools there, or busing, or what? In other words, did you choose it to be that way, or did it just happen? And what is he the minority of? Natives, or immigrants?

First of all, and most importantly, YES.

It's the first thing I thought when I saw you post about it. Sorry to say though, like LOST, I just tend to avoid popularity trains. Sometimes to my disadvantage, but most often in the end, to my very advantage.

FINALLY. Engaging conversation ;) .

In my city, anyone is free to send their kids to any public school, as long as you pay public taxes. It's not without loop-holes though--kids within a certain mile radius are given "first-dibs"... but with the people in an area choosing elsewhere, it balances out.

We live in a society of (and of which I am also a--supposed--"victim" of) divorce and subsequent "co-parenting" arrangements.

My ex lives one place, me another... the area inbetween is simply a middle-to-upper-class immigrant concentration. The gravitational pull is completely voluntary (said for Mock's benefit), and is quite near one of our Universities.

The reputation, scoring record and ethnocultural make-up are actually exactly what I'm looking for. My son is a person who spends his time split between two households, and his peers are kids who translate for their parents at evalutions and concerts.

He is well balanced on a global-level. I believe his school populace mimics that of the globe, and what more could I ask for really?

Maybe if each classroom were a microcosm of existance, we would all be a little more colour-blind.... while wearing silk pajamas, of course.

**Edit: had to change less to more (it makes a huge difference).**

Was going to say something about selecting the school based on its convenient location on your way to work, in jest, but it turns out that I wasn't so wrong after all. :lolly:

Anyway, so let me get this straight, based on the stereotypes that you've employed, I'm to assume that the student body consists mostly out of Asians? And you don't find this odd at all? These people aren't even socioeconomically deprived, these are middle to upper class 'brain gain' immigrants -- or so you've described. What extenuating circumstances they might have had for this unusual ethnocultural concentration went straight out the window when you revealed that they were well-off.

This statistical anomaly* in the public schooling system is the perfect example of self-segregation by a group of immigrants within a society modeled after the multicultural** template.

(*cough)
(**sociopolitical ideological construct where integration is a secondary priority)

How are you treated at teacher - parent conferences? Did you explain en passant to some of the parents why you had chosen this school?
