This update is mostly directed towards current testers and the users who plan to apply as a tester in the future.
It may be obvious that I have not been around here and posted as frequently as I did in the past. As I've announced before to the staff excluding the testers, I will be taking a break from coding until after my final exams, which will be at the end of April. As a result, all testing activities regarding the in-game will be closed until that time. Moreover, we will not be accepting testing applications until testing activities starts up again.

This will affect current rules set for the testers. During the time period, testers are not expected to be active, so you will not be in trouble if you decide to take a break until the end of April as well. However, It will be your full responsibility to start being active again once the testing is back.

If you have any questions or concerns, please either pm a webmaster, preferably Linksbrawler, or make a post here.
If you're a tester, please avoid accidentally breaking the rules by posting information regarding testing. You may also make a new thread on the Testers lounge if you'd like.

This is just a small update for the members about the game. The homepage and forum coding are almost done, when the In-game coding is under-way; if you have any questions, post here.

As this is a Java based game, and many of the members of here will regardless be actively on the internet, I advise you all to read this report.

In short, there is a malware which targets an error in Java version 1.7.0_10 . It's unlikely to affect you, but if it should, the effects can be terrible.

So I suggest upgrading to 1.7.0_11, or if that is not a possibility then downgrade to 1.7.0_09 . There is very little difference between these versions, so either is effective.

Happy new year! Last year was a blast. We've struggled and thrived together! We've made so much progress and successfully handled unexpected situations! We had so much fun and the Admins of pirate-zone is very thankful to all of the hard workers. We hope that 2013 will also be an adventurous year, especially since the game is scheduled to be released sometime this year! Thank you everyone :)

And as it is a new year, we have to make new changes. And some of them are very bad news. I have warned members and gave out clear rules and sadly some of them has been ignored/broken.

Most of the reasons is because of inactivity. But there are some testers who frequently views the game but never posted any reports which is required. I've also spared lots of testers, for now!

For the testers: If you want to keep you're position, being active on the Testers Ocean section isn't enough! There are other sections that you can post. Being active on the forums and communicating with other members is beneficial to us, you and the members.
Alternatively, you can also be active on the xat and let the staff members get to know you.

And yes, I'll be so much more strict.
Also, I changed the password to access the game.

We have provided a new link for the xat chatbox. The chatbox before was outdated and the rank of every staff member appeared to be guest. Clearly we're not a guest and we want you to know that :P

Third,
Its time to demote, fire and email warn some of our staff members.
The reason is because they fail to accomplish one of the two:
1. To be active and go to the forum frequently
2. Participate in many staff conversations and help out when needed.

The ones that didn't get fired will all be demoted to being a moderator. If you're one of the staff member that hasn't been active and didn't get fired, you will get an email warning provided you gave us the correct email address. Moreover, you have until the end of the year to follow the two rules stated above otherwise you'll be fired.

Once again, to remain a staff member, you must follow the two rules:
1. You must log in atleast once before 2013 otherwise you'll be automatically fired.
2. You must participate in enough staff conversations and help out otherwise we'll highly consider firing you.


MOREOVER!!! All testers who haven't been active will also get an email warning. After my exams are over, testers will be needed! We understand that testers haven't been able to do anything recently, so the email warning will be a lot milder. I'll hopefully be able to set something up for testers to do by December 19.

Testers are required to be active so if you don't log in before the end of the year, you'll be fired. Moreover, testers are recommended to participate in forum discussions. Testers will eventually be required to be active in testing. (After December 19)

Finally, we've noticed that we haven't been communicating with the users enough and haven't gave much updates. As an apology, we've decided to give you a sneak peak of the game.

On to at least some good news for today. According to our coders, we have great process in the in-game. We're finishing the codes and now we're incorporating it into making the game. We have a couple of other stuff like making our unique in-game designs, making the detailed game site, and finishing the characters and missions. Also, a new domain may be bought at anytime so stay tuned for more!

What's up guys, Dayo here. Lotta stuff has been happening. Well apparently Aerys got into a car accident. :( Bad huh? He's going to be in the hospital for about 2 months. It's that bad. Well some things are going to be put on a hold for a while. On a good note, we have a new coder Oreo who's gonna help us speed things up on our coding process so be expecting us to be giving you constant reports on our progress.
