Erghen, 5th son of the -nag branch of the Kha-Dhas dynasty, has had a disciplined but comfortable upbringing within his family's mountain hold in the northern Andoran expanses, focusing primarily upon the practiced trade of his people, and the teachings of the Forge Father. The two are one and the same in Dwarven culture, and in a family whose legacy is smithing, most revered of Dwarven crafts, are inevitably the core of existence for males in the family. Upon mastering enough talent of the forge to assure their work will not bring dishonor to the Kha-Dhas name, it is traditional for young adults to venture beyond the established "territories" of their familial empire, plying their trade and spreading their recognizable maker's mark across all of Golarion. It is this tradition that brought Erghen to Cheliax and Kintargo, lands where the Dwarven deity is less welcomed than most. For the past few years, he has mastered a small smithy just outside the city's main shopping districts, plying his trade as best he can, and offering the blessings of Torag upon request. Many ask the Dwarf how he maintains his faith in such a seemingly evil land, and he is quick to reassure them with sayings such as "Torag preaches that labor and faith are one in the same," and "Even the strongest steel must be able to flex, or it will break."
Erghen is by no means a local celebrity, but is known by his neighbors and nearby businesses for his easygoing and mellow demeanor, as well as his gentle treatment of followers of any faith.

Erghen had always been a devotee of Torag, even from a young age. Every aspect of the faith agreed with him, and he always felt the Forge Father's guiding hand on his shoulder. In his early adolescence, scandal shocked the Dwarves of Andoran, when it was revealed their highest order of Clerics were secretly bound to pacts with demons, and they were swiftly executed for their transgressions against the faith and its people. This left the church in dire need of new blood, and Erghen knew immediately that this chance was destined to befall him. His initiation was frought with difficulty, both in his work and in his home. His family made it no secret that they wished him to abandon his pursuits and join the local militia for a decade, as was tradition. He also regularly came into contact with several of the dregs of their society, criminals the church typically turned their backs on, but whom Erghen felt needed the Forge Father's blessings and guidance more than others. These associations nearly cost him his title, as it was proposed time and time again that he lose his right of initiation for his associating with their sorts. In the end, however, his unflinching dedication to all souls in need of aid resulted in several of these forsaken criminals rising to prominent positions in their community, and ultimately gained him the designation of Cleric. Only once he'd completed his religious trainings was he willing to depart on his family's customary pilgrimage to spread their wares- and, in his case, the blessings of Torag- to a distant land.
