Area Information

Pewter City is seated in the foothills of the mountains as the range that divides Kanto and Johto meets up with the northern range that blocks passage in that direction for both regions. Pewter City sits in the corner where these two areas meet, and its very hilly.

The streets are paved with massive natural stone slabs, which many say is the co-operative work of rock pokemon might and human ingenuity from many years ago. People take pride in this legend, and the city is partially known for its rock loving enthusiasts. It's also well known because the Pewter Gym proudly features rock-type pokemon as a challenging test to trainers in order to earn the Boulderbadge.

A museum sits on the highest point of the city. It recently opened from renovations and is quite the attraction. Its also well worth the visit by any pokemon trainer. They have lots of information held there on pokemon and the geology of the surrounding areas. The pokemon center here is a good place to stay the night and rest, or to recover from your first gym battle. There's also a park with some popular rock gardens and statues somewhere near the residential district.

Pokemon in the Area

Sandshrew (roaming)(rare) between the levels of 10 and 12
Rattata (roaming)(rare) between the levels of 5 and 10
Pidgey (roaming)(rare) between the levels of 5 and 8
Spearow (roaming)(rare) between the levels of 6 and 8
Zubat (roaming at night)(rare) between the levels of 10 and 12
Residences, shops, and a park

The North Road out of Viridian Forest bisects Pewter city and heads straight up to the mountains where it ends. The large grounds of the science museum, the gym, and the area surrounding the Pokemon Center all form a thin sliver of the city to the west side of the North Road. Every other part of the city to the east of the road is known as the residential district. A sprawling park stands on the southeastern end of the city, and the pokemart is right near the middle of the district on a new road heading east

The park has a few large trees and nice open fields of grass, but its mostly known for its stone artwork and complexly beautiful rock gardens. These monuments dot the open grassy areas every 50 feet or so in any direction, making for a perfect afternoon walk. If you're looking for something like culture, anyways.

The Pokemon Center and the PAT Tower

This pokemon center is three stories tall and looks like a giant cube. Its made of red stone brick.

On the first floor a simple rectangular counter with a pretty granite top separates you from the current receptionist. There are couches set into a nice indent in the floor, and the bottom floor is complete with the usual PCs and transportation devices. Two hallways lead back into the building to either side of the counter. There's a sturdy stairway leading up on the left side of the entryway.

The second floor holds pokemon in emergency care in several rooms. The third holds some small rooms just wide enough to fit two cot bunk-beds, as well as a cafe to serve breakfast to any trainers staying the night. The roof serves as a PAT tower, holding some small wooden stall-like buildings on one side that store PAT supplies and allow for pokemon in their service to bunk down. As in Viridian City, you can purchase PAT services from the receptionist of the pokemon center on the first floor.

Museum

This massive museum sprawls here overlooking Pewter City, with fantastic stone architecture, stone pokemon guarding the rooftops, and a huge arched porch for an entryway. Inside a clerk waits to take your entry fee of 1$.

The exhibits are spread around a huge open exhibition room with tall arched glass windows as the main lighting, though chandeliers hang from the vaulted ceiling for night-time operations. There is a small metal door in the back of the downstairs exhibition hall labeled "Research Area, Employees Only" and a little ways down the hall from the door sit restrooms for both men and women. Stairs lead up to a shorter-ceiling room containing pieces examining space, astonomy, space travel, and the meteors from Mt Moon.

A small cafe and souvenir shop sit to the right of the entryway containing some healthy snacks, books on pokemon, astronomy, and archeology, and other small museum trinkets. They also have a wide variety of fossils on sale...fossils that have been examined and researched already and aren't needed for display the museum sells to patrons in order to earn a little extra money. They can be pricey, though.

The Museum Stock

Kabuto Fossil: 300 pk$
Omanyte Fossil: 300 pk$
Fossil of an Aerodactyl Egg: 500 pk$
Geological map of the Mt. Moon caves: 5 pk$

Pewter Gym

OOC Note

This Gym is well kept, with a gravel garden surrounding it and clean, sturdy walls. A clear path leads to it from the city below, and there is a revolving door made of some dark, opaque material that is kind of hard to push open. A sign above lists it as an official pokemon league gym, and there are windows running down the sides and on the top of the roof, tall enough to let in light but not short enough to see over and catch a glimpse of the gym's interior.

One tree, a twisted juniper, sits out in front, rooted to a giant boulder that seems to have been relocated here from somewhere else and placed just so to be the centerpiece of the 'rock garden.'

Inside, there are nice overhead lights to fill the stadium, though during the day these aren't needed...plenty of light spills in through the skylights then. As soon as you step off the nice tile that surrounds the revolving door you step into a crshed gravel stadium. A few boulders and protrustions of rock dot the fild before you.

At the far end is a raised granite platform for the gym leader to stand. The gym leader is a young boy who looks to be just getting into his late twenties. He has slightly unkempt brown hair and is often covered in bits of sand and dirt.
Forrest

Forrest is a fellow who has held control of his gym for several years after he inherited the gym from his older brother Brock. He is often underestimated but he's very smart and passionate about his rock pokemon and (unsurprisingly) beautiful women. If you're a girl, he won't let you win just cause you're pretty though; in fact, he may fight all the harder, hoping to honor your beauty with all his efforts. At least he doesn't fall into the same stupidity inducing trance at the sight of a pretty face like his brother does.
