"Sorry for having startled you," Kuro said, sliding the back of his Pokédex to reveal another screen that aligned itself with the other, both of them turning on as he pointed the device in Cyndaquil's direction. Withing seconds, an image of the Fire-type appeared on the upper screen, the lower one showing the information available. "Cyndaquil, the Fire Mouse Pokémon. It has a timid nature. If it is startled, the flames on its back burn more vigorously," it read, voice feature having been disabled earlier, as the sign for Fire types appeared on the right, over the average height and weight. "Timid?" he thought, thinking of how the two friends had pounced on each other earlier. Maybe Tsuki was beginning to be a bad influence... Joe did mention his Cyndaquil had never acted like that before... He was thinking about that when the Professor entered the room again, handing two pieces of paper to each trainer, each with an identical list of different Pokémon. He was amazed at the variety; he only knew two of the creatures that lived on the route. He noticed one of them was the blue one from earlier; that particular Pokémon was starting to intrigue him. Joe asked about the marking next to some Pokémon's names, to which the Professor answered by telling them how those were not normally encountered. "Dark Pokémon?" he thought, looking at the bored Tsuki as the Professor started taking the cables off both the Dark- and Fire-types. Well, at least she'd be able to tell them if those ''Gastly''s tried to sneak on them. He took out Tsuki's Pokéball, putting away his Pokédex in the process, and returned the fox, a red beam of light emanating from the ball and transporting the Zorua inside. "I'll let you out soon, don't worry," he told the closed ball, walking over to the machine the man had pointed out earlier, bag on its place in his back again. He placed the red-and-white ball in one of the holes in the machine, as Joe did the same, and when the two trainers retired their hands, the machine turned on, small, white beams of light emanating from the holes that contained the balls, enveloping them. A small tune came from the machine with the light, a musical note repeating three times before a lower key sounded, ending with a higher one. "Now that should be enough," the Professor said, as Kuro retrieved Tsuki's Pokéball and pressed the button in the middle. The familiar white flash of light came out, materializing into a standing Tsuki, who barked happily, completely healed. She ran around Kuro once in greeting, making him chuckle and crouch a little to ruffle her fur. |

As he waited for the machine to finish, Joseph took another look at the list of pokemon the professor had given him, trying to think of a pokemon that interested him. And his first thought was the shiny Poocheyna that appears at night, even though it's just a rumor, he had to check it out. The machine finished it little tune that was playing stopped and the white beams of light turned off. He grabbed the pokeball and just like Kuro he pressed the button in the middle to let Cyndaquil out and see how she was doing. Joseph was surprised to see that Cyndaquil was still sleeping as she had nose bubble coming from he snout. Joseph laughed as he saw Cyndaquil still sleeping after all that, he saw Tsuki looking at her friend with an eager look. It seemed like she wanted to pop that nose bubble. Joseph laughed and said "Go ahead" The dark-type pokemon didn't think twice about it as she walked over to Cyndaquil and popped the nose bubble with one of her paws. The pop sound startled Cyndaquil a bit waking her up "Cynda, Cyndaquil!!" she let out. Luckily no fire came from her back, it seemed she was still a bit tired but now she was awake. "Hehe. Had a nice nap?" Joseph said with a smile as Cyndaquil noticed him and scratched her head while laughing. The professor let out a laugh as he saw the two pokemon. "Those pokemons of yours are really something, hehehe. Now is there anything else I can do for you kids." The professor said still offering his services. "No professor you've done enough. We can't thank you enough for all that you've done for us." Joseph said as he bowed his head and Cyndaquil followed. "My pleasure lads. Just promise me one thing. Promise me I'll get to see you two battle again when you get stronger." The professor said with a smile. "You bet!" Joseph said with a confident as he looked to Kuro. |

Kuro had to chuckle as Tsuki poked Cyndaquil's bubble, immediately jumping back when it popped and woke up her friend; seemed she had learned to beware of surprising too much the Fire-type. The Dark one laughed with the group, showing one of her fangs as she walked over to the other Pokémon again, sitting next to her as the humans finished their little talk, tail wagging slightly again. "My pleasure lads. Just promise me one thing. Promise me I'll get to see you two battle again when you get stronger," the Professor was saying, smile on his elderly face framed by his white mustache. "I'm looking forward to it," Kuro said, crossing looks with Joe, a little more confident than before. Tsuki yipped and offered her paw to her friend like a human, challenging her again to another battle-game in the near future. Cyndaquil accepted her paw with a "Cynda!" sound, both Pokémon eager to play again once they improved as they moved their connected paws up and down in unison. The Professor chuckled at the two friend's actions, shaking his head. "I'm so glad those two get along so well. You two would do a great team in double battles. Now off you go, and remember to always keep the spirit you showed me in that battle," he said, laughing merrily as he exited the room through the door he came through, a spring on his step. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The group of four exited the building, sun illuminating the clear day as they stepped into it, both Pokémon leading the way as they ran ahead. "She's really rubbing onto Cyndaquil," Kuro thought, watching the two of them interact. "Tsuki, we have to go to Route 1," Kuro said, before the Dark-type decided to wander off on her own again, this time dragging the Fire-type with her. She stuck her tongue out at him and poked the Cyndaquil, both of them heading together towards the direction of the path that cut through the forest. "Seems we're stuck together for a while," Kuro joked, as the two Pokémon didn't look like they wanted to be separated anytime soon. "You're also heading towards Route 1 now, right?" he asked, glancing at the red-headed trainer. |

As Joseph stepped outside he stretched his arms a bit as he took in the bright sun. He watched as Cyndaquil ran ahead along with Tsuki, they seemed almost inseparable as Joseph smiled. "Cyndaquil be careful, and try not to light anything on fire." Joseph said as he followed behind them alongside Kuro. Cyndaquil answered with a "Cynda" in a happy tone. it seemed she was a lot more playful and active with Tsuki around but at least she wasn't sticking out he tongue. Joseph chuckled a little at the thought. "Hmm. Oh yeah. I guess the four us could stick around for awhile. Let them have their fun." Joseph said with a smile as his eyes looked at the route infront him, prepared for anything they might encounter. END |
