Well since I was really buysy I had no time to write a review but since its the weekend and im realaxing then im free to write one. Since I reviewed 2 racing games I will go to Adventure Now! Well this time I will be writing my review on Donkey Kong Country 3 on the Gameboy Advance. I chose this game because im a really big fan of the Donkey Kong series and I would like to voice my opinion about this one so here we go... Donkey Kong Country 3 Platform: Gameboy Advance, SNES (old version before remake) Developer: Rare ESRB Rating: E for Everyone Game review is based on the new Gameboy Advance version! Gameplay: Just like in any adventure game, you start of by finding out that your pal's Diddy and Donkey Kong have been captured by the infamous King K.Rool. So you Dixie Kong and a new character Kiddie Kong head out to the vast world in search of Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong. On they way you fight challenging bosses which can slow your progress. Some of the levels are BEOND hard to extremely IMPOSSIBLE as Dixie and Kiddie struggle with there quest. You can stop at Krankys Dojos and try to earn a Banana Bird once every while and then, you can play a minigame with Dixie Kong, and you can play small Bonus games if you find the Bonus barrel in a stage. Other than that... its a tough adventure. My View: I enjoy all classic SNES adventure games and it was music to my ears when I heard DKC3 was coming out on the GBA. After my long quest to find it on the SNES, I can now simply walk into any store and buy it. This game is very enjoyable. Going from level to level and stage to stage remided me of the classic DKC games. This one has something that sets it apart from the other DKC games though. Its set at a more 90's stage. When Rare did this game it was thinking it had to change the way adventure games roll, from the classic "HIT THE BOSS 3 TIMES AND YOU BEAT IT." This one actually has some spice to it. The levels are totally different from any adventure game I have ever played. The environments are just spectacular. This game was produced on the next stage of adventure games, giving the main character a little bit of more movement out in the world. Its really nice on how they input that into the game. The different levels in this game set a new prespective for DKC games and that was what I liked about this game the most. Controls: Well the controls in this game are as simple as can be. I had no problem controlling the two heroes throught the stages. It can get a bit confusing though when your trying to mount Kiddie on Dixie or Dixie on Kiddie. I always kept pressing the wrong button. Some of the boss battles can get challenging when you are trying to find the button you really want to press, but you can't find it in time. Other than that they are simple and they are GREAT! Sound: I for one loved the soundtrack for this game. I though it was just great how they mixed the classic DKC music with some of the 90's flare. The music matches well with the environment and gets you amped up for a boss battle. Its just what this game needed. Graphics: Compared to the SNES, the GBA visuals aren't as good but they are good enough to make me happy. Like I said, the environments are extremely detailed and even if playing on the GBA the still look good. The world of DKC 3 is not as detailed as each of the levels or even stages of the game. But I would say, judging that this game is on the GBA, that the graphics are not bad at all. Overall: Even if you aren't a Donkey Kong maniac, I still reccomend this game. It reminded me of the slow disinigration of the SNES era and how the N64 era began. This is one of the best SNES games on my list. All ratings /5 5 being the best and 1 being the worst. Gameplay: 4.5 Graphics: 4.0 Controls: 4.0 Sound: 5.0 Overall: 4.5 (Just so you guys know I get the overall from averageing out the scores and rounding them) Thank You guys for reading... NUMEL And as you guys know I always put something special in so heres a list of all the Levels and the Bosses. I will rate the bosses hardness on a scale of one to five. 1 being the easiest and 5 being the hardest... Level 1 Lake Orangatanga Boss: Belcha's Barn 1/5 Level 2 Kremwood Forest Boss: Arich's Ambush 2/5 Level 3 Mekanos Boss: Kaos Karnage 2/5 Level 4 Cotton Top Cove Boss: Squirt Showdown 3/5 Level 5 K3 Boss: Bleaks House 2/5 Level 6 Razor Ridge Boss: Barbo's Barrier 3/5 Level 7 Kaos Kore Boss: Kaos (again) / Baron K. Roolenstein 4/5 Level 8 (The Lost World) Information is not being posted because I don't want to spoil it for you guys. And if you think the game ends after Level 7 you are sadly mistaken. Boss: ??? |
