Trainer Profile

Character Name: Kazuma Blake
Nickname: Kaz
Gender: Male
Age: 14
Trainer Class: Pokemon Trainer

Height: 5 ft 5 in
Weight: 140 lbs
Hair Color & Style: Blonde hair, died a light blue, being medium length and sticking up from his head, pointing upwards and ending in thick spikes. The dye runs fairly deep, giving his hair an even, overall coloration. His eyebrows, funny enough, are dyed much the same color, and are medium sized.
Eyes: A dark green, almost always holding a hint of confidence and mischievousness. The green is a bit lighter around the pupil. His eyes are a bit on the small side, and are almost always slightly squinted.
Clothing/Accessories: Kazuma likes to wear his clothing with a bit of style, opting to wear mostly blue clothing--from his pants, secured by a pokeball belt, in order to hold the pokemon he has on hand, to his v-neck, which is worn under his signature blue jacket, which bears a furred collar and bottom that is a simple tan color. To cap it off, he wears blue sandals--the same color as his jacket--over brown and tan socks. Funny enough, he actually sports several copies of the same style of clothing--making sure that he can always wear the comfortable, custom made outfit at all times, without having to deal with wearing dirty clothes most of the time. He also sports swim trunks--similar in color, and very basic--that he uses whenever he wants to go for a swim, with all of these things held within a blue backpack with the typical compartments for all the items a trainer may need, with an area to stash his clothing in, and his generally packed with enough supplies--clothing, toiletries, water, snacks--for at least five days of travel.
General Appearance: Kazuma is a few inches taller than most males his age, and remains far more fit than most. He has a surprising amount of toned muscle on his body, despite himself, and could be considered athletic. His skin is a simple tan color, due to the amount of time spent swimming and doing other things to keep himself busy. Despite how physical active he is, however, he is the type to be interested in fashion, and, as such, generally keeps his clothes in the beast condition he can--even going as far as folding and stowing them away, before doing something that might get them dirty or damage. This reflects as his clothes being in a state of constantly being clean and even starched, often causing those who look at him without first talking to him to think that he is, indeed, from a fairly rich family who taught him all of the 'proper' manners of the world. Though, soon after, he tends to make them think the opposite.

His posture, however, needs a little work, as he typically slump slightly when standing and walking, and when sitting he generally puts his feet on things in order to be more comfortable, slightly leaning back into his chair or what have you. When speaking, his has a habit to exaggerate things with his arms--as well as his voice, often making things sound more dramatic than they are--and, as such, generally burns up a bit more energy than necessary when simply communicating, even if it is over the phone.

Hometown: North Godai, Cascadia City
Personality: Loud, proud, and wild, Kazuma is the sort to always get into--and cause--trouble on a minute to minute basis. He loves to have fun and enjoy himself, and this often leads to him causing those around him to be pulled into his own brand of 'fun'. He's reckless, and this is a part of his personality that simply causes him to cause a lot of trouble for not only him, but also to others around him, leaving him often blissfully unaware that he had done anything wrong, or that what he did was wrong when confronted. Starting fights, insulting people, and generally being annoying are some of his past times. He's somewhat rough and often attempts to present himself as a tough guy, and this often leads to either being respected or attacked, much to his enjoyment in any case; he loves testing himself against others--against something difficult--and so he relishes any moment to do so, though this often leads to more wins than losses, simply because he often gets in over his head.

Despite that, when he sets his mind to something, he works incredibly hard to be the best at it, never quite wanting to accept any spot bellow number one. An unfortunate mindset in many cases, due to his methods often being too extreme, leading him to go overboard most of the time. Despite his wild nature, however, he seems to be quite clever despite himself. Secretly, he has an incredibly interest in reading and problem solving, which has made him very sharp for his age. So smart, in fact, that he spent a lot of his time reading and learning otherwise about the pokemon world he lived in, as early as was able to pick up a book and even understand what he was looking at. However, he isn't very good at dealing with people. His interest in dangerous things, reading excessively due to his compulsion to be the best, and his overall wild and rude nature make him the target of a person's irritation more often than not, especially considering how its hard for him to regard other people's feelings--aside from pokemon--with clear disinterest; a clear sign that he doesn't quite understand that his 'fun' can and often is harmful to others.

There are two things that are deeply important--and interesting above all else--being swimming and pokemon. From an early age, he was exposed--in large measure--to both, and found himself so enamored with both, that they became a key part of his life. He's an excellent swimmer. In fact, he's so good, that he was, more than once, considered good enough to one day go pro. Swimming is like his life blood, and, as a result, he shows great concern for any large body of water, often going out of his way to make sure its litter and pollutant free. When it comes to pokemon, however, they are as important to any family; he puts them before himself, and treasures them intensely. In fact, he has shown--more than once--that he will fight any that are needlessly cruel to them.

Kazuma has a brave soul; he's capable of going into the darkest cave, swimming into the deepest water in a lake, and even attempting to fight dangerous pokemon himself, all while keeping a very strong face of calm. While this often puts him in fairly perilous situations, it has, in more than one occasion, allowed him to be pivotal in saving some people around town, and even being important in doing things others were simply unable to.

Kazuma has a superiority complex. While he wants to be the best--and generally acts incredibly arrogant--this is chiefly due to the fact that, in actuality, he thinks he's simply not as good as others. He believes, as a person, he simply isn't up to snuff, believing that if he was, he'd likely already be an incredibly trainer, much like those in stories that were young and managed to actually become truly great. He hates that, and has to make sure no one ever treats him like the weakling he truly believes himself to be; the boy who wasn't even good enough to get a pokemon until four years after the normal age.

Whenever Kazuma meets someone knew, he has to make some sort of challenge. If the person fails to win, he treats them as beneath him, and, upon a victory, he seems to actually show respect, and often tries to re-challenge said person in order to prove that he is simply better; even in a situation where there are five losses, and one win, as long as the one win came after all those loses, he would still deem himself superior, though he finds situations where he's let win to be annoying and considers the challenged weak, and himself superior regardless.

Kazuma rarely gets truly angry; most of the time, he's simply irritated or annoyed. However, when he DOES get angry, he's generally more enraged and wild than a primeape; often stomping off, throwing things, wanting to fight, and such things. Mistreating pokemon angers him. It angers him more than most things; in fact, the only thing worse than that is hurting his family in any way, which, actually, includes taking advantage of them. When he gets sad, he often turns angry, which causes him to be more angry--and destructive--than most. When angered, generally the only way to stop him is to offer him food, rectify the situation that made him angry, or knock him out.

History: Kazuma was born into a relatively small family; him, his mother, his father, and his little sister. His mother and father were professional battlers, who netted most of their money as aspiring trainers. When his mother became pregnant with him, however, they took their saved fortune--all left safely with their mothers--and invested in a fishery in Cascadia city, moving there and cementing their business into the rest of the city. Thus, his family lived a fairly good life, though often times the energetic boy would pick fights with many of the other--and often bigger--kids in the area, who generally made themselves out to be the resident bullies.

Kazuma's nature led him to pull off several dangerous stunts, which, in the end, also made him learn how to swim; and swim fast, when he needed to get out of fights that he just couldn't handle. He had a great love for such, and, as such, ended up dong a lot of exercising so that he could have a 'one-up' over some of the enemies he had gained while trying to be a sort of hero of the city. His parents, who had tried several attempts to find someone who could keep up with him--and help him stay out of trouble--were found, time and time again, to be fairly useless, and so he generally ran around unchecked, constantly running the blood pressures of his caring parents up on a day to day basis.

One such event was, when he was younger, some boy was being a friendly and talking to his sister; much older and bigger in size overall. In this instance--while most people would have simply dismissed it, as the guy was only being helpful, getting his sister's kite out of a tree--he lost it, immediately trying to fight the guy. Despite the fact that he was smaller--both in terms of muscle mass, overall height, and age--he still tried to fight, promptly getting knocked out, which had his sister go and fetch his mother as the older boy nervously went to apologize. Before he knew it, he woke up to a swollen eye and cheek, being lectured by his parents to take it easy.

Another such moment was when he went to explore the tall grass--given that every adult stated outright that it was too dangerous to enter without a pokemon by every adult and other kid in sight, each time he tried to enter--before being attacked by a wild pokemon. Now, being the sort of person he was--rather than run or call for help--he attempted to fight the small ratatta, only to get several scratches all over his body, causing his his dad--who was walking by--to defeat the small rat pokemon and carry his son home for medical treatment.

Because of his nature--often viewed as fairly wild--he wasn't allowed to gain a pokemon until he turned 14. Which was, in fact, the time where they had finally decided that the city--and perhaps known in the region--was capable of containing his boundless energy, and that it was best to allow him to travel; despite the dangers he put himself in, he was tough, and had a lot of guts, much like themselves when they were young; after all, they were doing so well then, weren't they? The pokemon in question was a totodile--which was the son of his father's own Feraligatr--to which young Kazuma promtly named 'Rex', before nearly knocking over everyone to get to the door and travel, only to be stopped by his father, and told to hold on a little bit more until morning.

While it may have seemed like it was because it was nighttime, and beginning a journey so late may have been a bit too dangerous, it was, in fact, a plan to allow his cousin to come pick him up; while his parents were aware of just how tough their son was, it was, in fact, completely dangerous to let him begin his journey by himself. His father was more than aware of how dangerous--and needlessly hard--it was for him, and so he didn't want the same to be said for his only son. The plan for his cousin, Kenzo, to come meet him was already set in motion.

In the morning, his mother prepared what was likely the biggest meal he had ever eaten in the house. Which was saying something, considering how much his mother usually cooked, and how much he actually ate. While he was blissfully unaware of what was to come--and who was about to come for him--he didn't seem to have any care in the world; his pokemon snapping up just as much food as he was. What will happened? Time will tell.

Hey Sven! Welcome to Godai!

Unfortunately, I had to temporarily deny Pokeant's character which seems to be slightly tied into yours. Before I officially look through your character, my first question is: Would you still like to continue with the application process?

If so, while you're waiting please check and review the following:

  • For as much as it can, Godai is taken place in a realistic setting. This means the Humans are to be as realistic as possible. Which delves into natural and realistic Hair Colour. Hint: Dyes exist.
  • Please check "Common Application Mistakes" to see what you may be missing. I can see a few.
  • Please make sure the coding is up to par - even the most minuscule bits such as "Key Items".
  • Lastly, check out "Accepted Characters" to get a glimpse of what we tend to ask for in order to save both party time!
That's it for the time being! Whether or not you'd like to continue, please post a reply so we know what you'd like to do!

I look forward to your response! He appears to be off to a great start. ♥

Awesome then Sven! And unfortunately there's just a bit more to elaborate around. But it's not bad I assure you; we only want to assist you to better make your character(s) as wholesome as possible! That said, let's begin -

First off, I'm somewhat on a time crunch so if you'd like better examples of what I'm trying to portray, go ahead and check out my reply to Pokeant's character! Also, please check your spelling and grammar once more; there's quite a bit. Otherwise...

For his "Eyes", this is good! However, perhaps a sentence or two about what else you can tell me? Is it that colour all around? Any other different pigmentations inside? If not, then that's cool too! What about complimentary eyebrows then? Or size? or even shape?

For his "Clothing" is that all he wears? I know you sort of tried to say it's a small variety, but it's a bit confusing. But if he only has one set of clothing state it! But don't forget about bacteria accumulation. But what other styles does he wear? Goth? Preppy? Lazy attires? Etc. What about accessories - not even a bag for a trainer?

For his "General Appearance" perhaps another sentence about whether or not he makes a first impression or if he goes out of his way not to? Maybe also how he walks and talks or even does hand gestures more than another or just average? So on and so forth.

Then now let's zoom into the "Personality" -

This is great! I really do love him, however he seems perfect. And not in a good way. What are his weaknesses? It would appear that even with an attempt at naming his weakness there's an attempt to cover it up because Kazuma simply enjoys this supposed "weakness", and then as we go lower, he apparently also excels not only intellectually but physically as well. Try and balance him out a bit more.

From what I'm understanding from this, write out the consequences of his supposed "strengths". If he's simply book smart, then would his social cues be awkward? Do these "dangerous stunts" have any consequences? Not only to himself but to those around him? Even I have to admit, I love parkour and sometimes I can't hold down the urge to jump off a few heights, but in doing so I risk a lot of things mainly time because I accidentally indulge a lot. I hardly get injured due to my experience, but in this case, the negative consequence is me losing time and forgetting my priorities. Thus people are often mad at me on an external factor, but on an internal factor, I am forced to rush on my assignments or even as far as me being late to work. What about Kazuma?

Now, what else can you tell me about him? How does he form relationships? What happens if he ever gets mad or sad? How does he cope? How does any of this affect him on an emotional and psychological basis? Constantly as yourself "why" and "how does it affect others" as you go through this again. Why does he like being reckless? For example, I love kickboxing because I know that every hit that comes right at me, I'll strike back twice as hard immediately, and I'll take risks for the sake of tasting danger. This gives me my necessary adrenaline rush and makes me feel extremely alert and allows me to test my skills. This encompasses me as a person because I must always do something with my body and life. What about Kazuma? I'm more than positive you get what I mean by now so I'll stop here!

We'll continue onto his "History" which is grand by the way - and the "Pokedex" at a later time!

Please post a reply when any changes have been made. I look forward to your changes. ♥

Alrighty Sven! I am impressed with the edits you've made, thus you are almost there in obtaining my 1/2 approval.

All I ask now, is to describe a moment in Kazuma's History where his reckless personality endangered him. You spoke of it in the personality, of how rash and unintentionally hurtful he may be to others, or how his superiority complex is prominent. Give examples of this in your history! Whether it happened in elementary school or if he was bossy to his siblings, etc. How did his fights with the other big kids turn out? And did he go after them because he knew they were bullies or just because he wanted to fight?

Giving an example or two of this will help flesh out how your character might act in future scenarios. Once you've made your edits (which should be another paragraph at most) you'll be ready to receive my 1/2 sticker! Yay!

Great job with everything else, btw.
