Journal Entry #001 Sagan's Den - Lost and more lost Sagan’s Den. A place that had been struck by the last remains of a meteor centuries ago, most of its body having burned up as it entered Earth’s atmosphere. A place that no human had dared to approach as it had been too far removed from civilization for any human to try and conquer the land. Not that many would try as the Mines were the only entrance to the Den and by the time humans could safely and timely traverse those, the Den was already ruled over by Pokémon and nature. It was a treacherous place, where one could not trust their compasses nor even their own sense of direction. A place where many a ‘Mon and man have lost their way, with some rumors floating around that some even lost their very lives. It was a place to not be underestimated as even the most savvy, navigationally skilled and well prepared could lose their way. But what about someone who was none above? What if someone who had no navigational skills whatsoever entered? Would they find themselves lost even more so, never to be found? Or would they be capable of traversing through the Den with little to no problem? It was sadly a question that would never be answered. After all, no person without those capabilities would ever think of entering the Den, wouldn’t they? Right? Deep inside Sagan’s Den, after following many twists and taking who knows how many turns, a sound echoes through the pathways. It was one that spooked some of the local life, not because of any ill feeling the sound brought, but because the mere sudden disruption it caused. The sound was slightly foreign to the locals, mostly because only a small number of humans ever reached this location with their sanity in tact. The noise that followed that one was something they were far more familiar with, one filled with despair and anguish. Most Pokémon turned away, not feeling like interacting with any of the two leggers. Others on the other hand went to see what poor soul had lost it, while some just wanted to know what that first sound had been and where it originated from. If one would follow the sound, one would come to the peculiar sight of a strange duo. One of the two was standing upright and absolutely towered over his companion. He was dressed mostly in gray coloured clothes, with his legs covered by a baggy pair of pants littered with pockets and his feet protected by military issued leather boots. His upper body was covered by a vest that was kept open, showcasing a white undershirt that did little to hide the amount of muscle the man carried. It was easy to determine that he was the source of the first noise that echoed by, as he was still emitting it. His companion was far shorter, wore no clothes whatsoever and was, unlike his upright partner, kneeling on the ground while it repeatedly punched the ground with an occasional choking sound coming from its mouth. Its body was mainly brown coloured, with a light brown mask adorning his eyes and nose, and seemingly brown pouches attached to its leg. A green leaf lay limp on top of its head as it moved along with the creature’s head movement. The two were standing - well one was, the other crouched - in front of a wall that blocked their path. Their left and right were also blocked by walls, which meant that their only way to make any progress was to make absolutely none by turning back the way they came. The larger one could try to make a path of his own with his pickaxe, but chances were that he’d be here for days if not weeks. Not that he was capable of doing such a feat at this moment, as he was far too busy laughing at their situation. “Bahahahahah! Would you look at that? Another dead end. Bahahah! Seems like we’ll need to turn around again.” The human laughed merrily, a twinkle in his eyes, a tear in the corner of an eye and a broad smile on his smile that showcased his white teeth. He was so used to getting lost out in the open that he honestly didn’t mind meeting dead end after dead end inside this place. He was almost as comfortable under the ground as he was above it. His companion on the other hand did not share this tolerance, as it was busy holding back tears of frustration. The words shook the Pokémon out of its self-pity. As a matter of fact, they it froze it. After a few seconds passed, the Pokémon shakily turned its head to its trainer with a mad glint in its eye. The human just had the time to blink at the receiving look, until his Pokémon released another anguished cry before it jumped at him with a fist cocked back. The human simply laughed at the attempt before he grabbed the creature’s body with one hand, the appendage big enough to encircle the Pokémon’s body, keeping the Pokémon a safe distance from his face. He was rewarded by it thrashing in his hold while it tried to punch him for putting it through all of this. Why did the Pokémon have to be saddled up with such a direction challenged moron?!!! He loved the man to death but getting lost all the time, especially in a foreign place, was chipping away at the Pokémon’s nerves and self control. That was what anyone who laid eyes upon them would gaze at. A giant of a man laughing merrily, while holding an angry and trashing Pokémon in its hand. Total Word Count: 955 |

A dark tunnel, leading to nowhere, or to everywhere, if one looked at it properly, stretched on and on in front of them, with several offshoots leading to the Moon-Goddess-knew where. The sandy-colored dog pokemon scampered ahead of the dust-covered female trainer, who held a flashlight in her left hand, sweeping the beams across the dirt-baked path in front of them carefully. The female was dirt-streaked, evident of their long trek to this point, having been to the Mines before this stretch of tunnels and caves. Honestly, the female didn’t know what had brought her to this remote location of Godai. They’d intended to start their journey in Cascadia City, but her best friend, Haley Roane, who was currently scouting ahead of them, had had this crazy idea of exploring Sagan’s Den, after this crazy pokemon she’d heard of, called Type: Null. Alexa had never heard of such a pokemon, and had no idea what kind of pokemon it even was, but Haley was determined to find one. But they had yet to even come across a pokemon, and Alexa could tell that Haley was getting frustrated. The more experienced trainer was more used to tackling the challenging terrain, and Alexa knew that she and Jackie were slowing Haley down, but they couldn’t really help it. “H-hey, Haley? Where did you go?” Alexa called, but softly, in case Haley had found a pokemon. No answer. Even Jackie didn’t come bounding back to her at her voice. That was concerning. “Jack?” She called. A distant bark reassured her that she hadn’t lost her pokemon. “Hey, where are you, Jack-Jack?” She walked forward, sweeping her beams across the path as she listened for the bark of her pokemon. “Hey.” Alexa jumped a mile as a voice came from directly behind her. She spun around, flashing the beams of light into the eyes of a dark-blonde, blue-eyed female. “Arceus!” The figure cursed, raising a hand to block the beams of light in her eyes. “Geez, I didn’t mean to scare you, Alexa! Hey, where’s Jack?” “That’s what I’m trying to figure out, Haley,” Alexa complained. “You didn’t need to sneak up on me! Did you find a pokemon?” “No, they’re all hiding from your stumbling around,” Haley grumbled. “Come on, let’s find Jack and find another cave.” It was then that another sound echoed through the caverns, a strange sound that sent shivers through their spines. It sounded like someone gone mad. Then, the sound of Jackie barking rose up after the mad laughing died out. The two girls exchanged glances. “I almost don’t want to go after Jack,” Haley admitted. Alexa sent her a glare. “Coward,” she said spitefully. “That’s my pokemon out there! And you have Char!” “Right, but…. That didn’t sound like a pokemon,” Haley replied doubtfully. “But you’re right. We can’t leave Jack out on his own against whatever…. that was.” So the two females plodded toward the barking, dread filling both of their bodies. Word Counter: 496 |

Pokémon Declaration It took several minutes for the Nuzleaf to finally calm down as the constant laughter of its trainer kept fueling its flames of hatred everything it tried to sooth them. Once the Pokémon calmed down, Leonard finally let go of it and dropped it back on the ground where it landed easily on its own two feet. The Dark type couldn’t help but give one last glare at his trainer, to which the human simply smirked cheekily at, before it slightly bowed its head as an apology. Leonard laughed its apology off and bend through his knees so he could give his starter a good rub on the head. Had the Pokémon more hair, then it would have been messed up quite a bit after Leonard was done. “All right then, Fern. Time to go back and take that left path.” Leonard boomed heartedly as he spun on his heel and marched back to where they came. The Grass type sighed tiredly before it ran after the giant of a man, quickly overtaking it. They might be lost, but the Grass type was damned if he allowed the navigational challenged man take the lead in any situation. As it looked around, Fern wondered if there were any other people that were just as lost as they were. It was most certainly not a nice thought, but at least it would give him some closure to know he was not the only one who suffered. Leonard was a far better time than his starter Pokémon, and the things he thought about showcased. Instead of wondering if they’d ever get out of the natural labyrinth, the human was wondering if he meet any exotic Pokémon. They’d already met a plethora of Roggenrollas, Arons and Drilburs but he was so used to seeing them from his work that they weren’t quite interesting. The only thing that looked exciting was that blueish floating thingy. What’d his electronic guide call it again? An Elygem? That had been a fun meeting. Well, fun for him. Less so for it. For some reason the one they’d found had tried to attack him, luckily Fern had been more than capable of nullifying all of those beams it shot at them in their retreat. His thoughts on the attack on his life were put on hold when a sound vibrated through the cave. He blinked in confusion and tried to put a name to the sound. The slight increase of weight on his shoulder when ignored, as he was used to have Fern on his shoulder back from when he was a Seedot. Though he had to admit he could not ignore it as much as he used to, Fern had put on quite few pounds after his evolution. The sound made itself known once more, and now that he was more prepared for it Leonard recognized it as a barking noise. Guess there was a dog Pokémon down here as well. He wondered where it came from and what the creature looked like. Well, it wasn’t as if he was going to get out of this network of underground pathways any time soon, so he might as well try to pinpoint that creature’s location. It didn’t sound too dangerous, so he was sure he’d be fine. “Fern! Let’s go find us some mystery Pokémon!” The Dark type gave him a dry look in response but didn’t say anything. The human would do what he uttered, with or without his consent. Giving in would at least spare him a headache. Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on how you’d see it, Leonard’s search for the noise’s origin did not take long. Once he stepped out of the pathway he’d taken a couple of minutes after his proclamation, he entered a small room with two other paths. Inside the room was quadrupled, brown coloured and clearly dog like Pokémon. A grin broke on his face. “You’re a new one!” Total Word Count: 2,108 Reason(s) for edit

The sound that came from deep within the pathway Leonard’s companions came from kept increasing in volume. Thanks to the noise Leonard could unashamedly state that the levels of comfort plummeted the louder, and thus the source closer, it got. The brown hair coloured man heavily doubted that whatever was down there making such a ruckus would be of a friendly sort. During the tense wait he had moved around so that he stood in front of the two girls, with his starter by his side as they awaited whatever would greet him. Honestly, he hoped that the creature would take a different path, but he might as well be safe rather than sorry. A tongue sneaked its way past his lips in order to moisten them and he hefted his pickaxe up from his shoulder, moved it in front of him as he grasped it loosely within both hands. In the corner of his eyes he noticed Fern taking the same stance it had done when Alexa and her friend showed up. Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on how one choose to see it, the humans and their partners did not have to wait long before something showed itself down the far end of the path. Or rather, they stumbled their way in Leonard’s view. Two Pokémon came in their direction, one far faster than the other yet seemingly slowed down by its companion. Both were Pokémon that Leonard were quite familiar with, as many of his colleagues owned the slower one, while the other’s design was often used for a certain doll’s appearance. The looks on their faces, or rather on the pink one’s, of sheer panic and terror clearly showcased that they were not the origin of the violent sound he had been hearing for the last few minutes. This point was proven when the pink coloured one pulled on its rock like companion, narrowingly dodging a bunch of thrown stars. The two seemed to be dazed for a few seconds, as the attack released a series of small explosions once the stars made contact to the ground. Not to mention that said series also kicked up quite some dust - effectively obscuring the appearance of the attacker - before the rock like one kicked its friend up and ran once more. A more apt description for its action would be that the Roggenrola tried to run, but its stubby, little feet were most unfit for long runs, let alone fast ones. This forced the pink like one to stay back so that it would not leave its pal behind. While the rock one attempts to run away from their chaser, the Clefairy turns around and obviously tries to buy its friend some time by releasing a… charmingly, soothing cry? Leonard couldn’t stop himself from blinking at what should be an offensive move, yet sounding more like it would heal the opponent instead of inflicting damage. Almost as if to prove him correct, the assailant releases a sound not unlike two rocks clashing against each other and without missing a beat, a batch of floating rocks shot out of the smokescreen, homed in on the Clefairy and hit it dead on. The human withheld a wince when he heard the cry of pain come from the Pokémon. When he saw the Roggenrola spin on its feet to find out what happened to its friends, Leonard could no longer just stand by and watch. He just knew that both creatures cared too much for one another to leave the other behind, and the thought of any further harm coming to them pulled at his heartstrings. Before he knew it, he was already dashing in the pathway while barking one order to the girls behind him. “Run down the path I didn’t come from! I’ll catch up to you in a second!” He didn’t bother waiting for an answer as his focus was already upon his starter. “Fern! Fake Out on whatever is attacking these Pokémon! Afterwards grab that Clefairy while I grab the Roggenrola! Then, we run like hell and for the love of God do not engage that thing in battle!” Leonard really wanted nothing to do with a Pokémon that could make two others run in sheer terror away from it. The Grass/Dark type wanted nothing more than pull out his non-existent hair at his trainer’s rash action, and instead settled for slapping his forehead. Why, oh why did the man have to run towards danger! But damn it if this wasn’t why he loved the man as much as he did. He gave a wry smile at his human before he shot into action. Without any further delay, the bipedal Pokémon followed his Trainer at full speed, quickly overtaking the man. Once he reached the injured Clefairy, Fern searched into the cloud of dust for the assailant. A moving shadow gave its position away, and the Nuzleaf quickly capitalized on that by jumping upwards and gathering energy into his palms. At the apex of his jump, Nuzleaf grunted and slapped the two appendages together, releasing the pent up energy within. The result was a shockwave that forced the recipient to fall back and flinch from the suddenly invading, foreign energy. Unknowingly sharing the same thoughts as his Trainer concerning fighting the mysterious creature, Fern immediately turn on his heel once he landed and dashed back from where he came. In his run he grabbed the injured Fairy type and threw it like a bag of potatoes over one of his shoulders. Leonard, who held an unsurprisingly struggling Roggenrola in one hand, nodded at the swift action before he made his own escape. Note “Uhhh… I don’t think we did,” Alexa said, exchanging a look with Haley, who shook her head. They stumbled back as the sound grew louder, and Jack whimpered, weaving in and around Alexa’s legs, causing Alexa to stumble a little. “Jack! Calm down, boy, it’s ok! Return!” Alexa said, holding up her pokeball, returning her pokemon to its pokeball. She looked up at her two companions, fear crossing her face as the sound repeated itself, louder, closer to them. Haley was standing next to the man, a determined look on her face, Char standing next to them, his fire blazing as he readied for battle. “Are you dumb? We don’t know what that thing is!” Alexa hissed into her friend’s ear, “It’s probably something Char has a weakness against!” Alexa urged her friend. “Let’s get out of here!” “I’m not going to leave him here to face it on his own!” Haley said stubbornly. “He told us to run, now come on!” Alexa said, pulling on her friend’s arm as three pokemon emerged from the tunnel. A roggenrola, a clefairy, and… something else. Something much, much scarier. A Minior, raging out of control, furious and blasting it’s anger to the cave walls and everything in its path. Haley paled, and stumbled back, allowing Alexa to pull her along. Char, seeing his human fleeing, turned tail and fled from the raging Minior, too. While Leonard was indeed carrying a 40 pound creature with one hand, that did not mean in the slightest he felt inconvenienced or slowed down due to the extra weight. With the Roggenrola having calmed down after it saw his Nuzleaf save the Clefairy, Leonard didn’t even need to worry about dropping the pure Rock type and thus he only need to focus on two things: running for his life and praying that whatever the hell that thing was took the other hallway to chase them. An explosion from behind almost made him let go of his passenger. The man gave one last prayer before he dared to peek over his shoulder and the sight that greeted him almost made him break out in boisterous laughter. Instead he settled on grinning madly at the lack of a cloud of dust and a brown, floating thing. He turned to Fern, curled his thumb and index finger until their tips touched and formed a circle while straightening his other fingers and beamed his grin at the half Dark type, who shot a satisfied smirk right back at him. Neither paid much attention to the Rock type who was gazing silently at the two their interactions. “All right, Fern. Go on ahead and see if you can find those girls and inform them that we’re coming.” Leonard almost sighed at the defiant look his Pokémon gave him. Instead he opted to roll his eyes and smile. “Fern, I’ll be fine. Worst comes to worst, I’ll fight it with my bare hand until you’re back.” That plan sounded even worse outside his mind than that it did inside. Which said a lot as he already thought it was suicidally stupid. Apparently his starter shared this sentiment if the look it shot him was any indication. The giant of a man was almost certain his Pokémon was thinking up ways to inflict bodily damage on him. If they weren’t running for their lives, the Nuzleaf might just have gone through with them too. Now, Leonard did sigh and shook his head with a wry smile. “Fine, you’re right. Guess we’ll just have to kick it up a notch together.” A muffled explosion rocketed through the hallways once more, which made him gulp as his face paled slightly. “Let me correct that. Kick it up a couple of notches.” Doing as he said he would Leonard sped up as fast as his body allowed, his starter having little to no problem keeping up with his pace. After a few more minutes of running, Leonard frowned ever so slightly as he wondered where those girls had gone off to and if they were fine. He had to admit that the pair had a pair of very fast legs, as there didn’t not seem to be any indication of Leonard catching up to them. It wasn’t as if he had taken all that long to follow. Leonard hoped they hadn’t entered the path he had come out of when they met, during the encounter. That path lead to a dead end, and if that meteor like creature had any say about it then those girls could very likely end up the same. As much as he wanted to turn on his heel and check upon them to be sure, he knew that he nor Fern stood a chance against that creature. The ease it had summoned those rocks and the damage it had done with seemingly no effort was more than proof enough. He was pulled out of his musings, thankfully before they could take too dark a road, when the path split up in three directions. Without really thinking about it, he took the right path. He really did not want to waste any valuable time that could be spent distancing himself from that Pokémon, by thinking of trivial stuff like a direction. It was only after he could no longer move a single step that Leonard finally stopped running and gave his body the break it had been demanding for the last couple of minutes. Leonard had ignored those demands however, all in the hopes to distance himself as much from the violent creature as he could. Well, he supposed that if the creature - or Arceus forbid a different one! - had followed them all the way then there was nothing that Leonard would be able to do against it. He leaned against a wall with his back and slowly slid down, his legs no longer able to keep him upright. Leonard was so preoccupied with catching his breath, finally acknowledging the burning feeling in his legs and feeling like a wreck as a whole that he did not even notice how the Roggenrola, that had been as still as a rock, slowly rolled out of his hand. The creature pushed itself so that it could stand on its two legs, silently facing towards the strange human that had risked its life to save him and his friend from their pursuer. The creature’s observation was cut off by a grunt to its side and something being dropping on the ground. The Rock type’s gaze first landed on the exhausted, brown skinned creature. While it may be tired, Roggenrola did not want to test the creature from the feeling it gave off as it slowly made its way to the human. Had he any eyesight, he would have noticed how the Pokémon made sure to stand between himself and the human. However, his attention was fully focused on his comrade, whose mere presence he could feel a couple of feet away of him, lying silently on the ground. Ignoring the human and strange Pokémon, Roggenrola opted to make his way to the injured Clefairy and check up on her. Once the burning feeling in his lungs and legs settled down, and his breathing evened out Leonard finally lowered his head from its resting place against the wall and surveyed his area with one eye closed. When he was finally sure that nothing seemed to be following them, he took the time to look at the creatures surrounding him. The first one he noticed was his starter, with a tired look on his face. The two stared at one another for a few moments before they both cracked a satisfied grin and bumped fists. Leonard then shifted his gaze at the two wild Pokémon and felt his smile lessen a bit as he watched the Rock Type fret over its injured friend. His eyes shifted to his starter, whose expression clearly showed that it had seen him checking the wild Pokémon. The Grass type wore a scowl and glared at him while it shook its head adamantly. Leonard’s beard twitched thanks to the smile he grew and his eyes spoke books about the decision his starter had anticipated, and how he was not going to back down from it. The Pokémon kept his stare for a solid minute before its shoulders and head shagged, releasing a deep sigh in the process. The Nuzleaf looked at him with an understanding look, even if Leonard knew that the Pokémon was against it. Not because it didn’t want to help the two Pokémon, but because Fern took Leonard’s health as his prime objective. Grunting, Leonard pushed himself back up from the ground. His legs were no longer threatening to drop him where he stood, so he could easily make his way to the wild creatures. As he walked closer, he made sure that he was heard clearly and that he did not come from the Rock type’s blind spot. Grateful the Pokémon might be for Leonard’s help, it might lash out at any sudden appearances. He watched the Roggenrola turn its body towards him as he got nearer, and he was quite pleased that there was no tension in the creature’s body. Or at least he saw no tension that normally showcased if a Roggenrola was readying itself to attack. It was probably tense concerning its friend’s health and the ordeal they got out of. He had spent a lot of time with similar Pokémon whom you had no idea how to read expressions of on, so he was quite confident in reading the creature’s body language. He bend through his knees as to prevent intimidation and sent an assuring smile at the Mantle Pokémon. Taking a hold of the shoulder strap of his backpack, Leonard pulled it off of him and place the bag between him and the Pokémon. “Hello there little fellow. My name is Leonard and the scowling one is my partner, Fern.” He pointed with his thumb over his shoulder at the Nuzleaf, who rolled its eyes and crossed its arms. The creature’s yellow ear kept its focus on Leonard, oblivious to the man’s gesture due to its lack of sight. The human let out a humoured chuckle, reminding himself that the Rock type had outstanding hearing in return of its lack of eyes. “Well, introductions aside do you mind if I help you and your friend? I mean, Fern and I already got you out of that disastrous situation with the floating rock, so I might as well go all the way.” Leonard made sure that his voice loud and clear while his tone was friendly, concerned and warm. The Mantle Pokémon had no way to see the concerned look on his face, so his speech was the only way Leonard could hope to get his want to help across. He doubted that the creature fully knew what he was talking about, but if his intentions were transferred then Leonard would be content. So he opened the front pocket of his bag and pulled out a towel and a washing cloth. He then pulled out a bottle of water out of a side pocket and wetted the cloth. “I will start with clearing up the dust and grime of your friend. We don’t want any infections, now do we?” The man knew that there was more to disinfecting a wound than, however he was kind of short on disinfectant. So washing it with water would have to do. As he cleaned the Clefairy up, he couldn’t help the small frown on his face but he continued on. Once that was done, Leonard placed everything back from where he took it and then opened a different compartment. From there he grabbed a white and purple bottle, he ignored the sigh from his starter, and uncapped it. He turned to the Rock type and explained the next step. Even if the Pokémon didn’t understand him, he found that it was better to at least try and explain his intentions. “To finish off, I’ll spray a potion on your friend. It might sting a bit, but that’s just the medicine doing its job.” The silent gaze of the Pokémon was kind of nerve-wracking, especially as he was used to the species being far more outgoing. Well, having to rely on a stranger to heal up your friend would make everyone wary of any possible trickery. He aimed the bottle at the downed Fairy type and proceeded to apply the medicine to the wounds. Even unconscious the creature released a soft whimper whenever he did so. Leonard did not have to look at the Roggenrola to see it tense up, and he most certainly did not have to look at his starter to see the Dark type narrow its eyes at the Roggenrola while preparing itself to stop any possible attack of the wild Pokémon. When he grabbed the Clefairy’s right leg once more his frown grew bigger. He did not like the feeling of the limb, how something seemed to be poking in a way it shouldn’t. He hoped that the Potion would be able to heal up leg, but he just wasn’t that certain. The man never had to use them himself, so he was uncertain how well they worked. Leonard really did not want this to weigh mind, he was already trying hard to ignore the possibilities his mind would bring up about the girls that left ahead of him. Deep in thought, Leonard did not notice how the Clefairy was regaining conscious or how tensions were rising between the worried Roggenrola and overprotective Nuzleaf. A confused cry echoed through the silent cave pathway, putting a hold on everything. Leonard was pulled out his thoughts and focused on the creature in his hands, the Roggenrola stopped preparing itself to attack the creature that caused discomfort for his friend, and Fern relaxed when the saw the Roggenrola stop. The Clefairy looked Leonard in the eye, which the man returned with a smile and a happy glint in his eye. “Welcome back to the world of the living buddy. Please don’t move, I think you b-” He was cut off when the Fairy type screamed and pushed itself out his hands. The man made the motion to catch the creature as he saw it slip in the air, but found his path stopped by Fern and the Roggenrola. The first had its back turned to him, with the other stood in front of Fern with its ear facing their way. Fern and Leonard watched as the Clefairy drop to the floor and land on its feet. It did not take long for the Fairy type to yell in pain, drop to its knees and grab its right foot. The Roggenrola turned its ear to where the cry came from, and Leonard had to physically stop his starter from attacking in the moment of weakness. With his hand on the Nuzleaf’s shoulder, Leonard shook his head even when the Pokémon snarled and tried to shake his hand off. Instead he tightened his hold and glared. “No, Fern. We are not attacking them.” The Pokémon stared him in the eye before it turned its head to the side, a scowl on its face and its arms crossed. Leonard sighed. While he was happy of Fern’s protection, when he got overprotective then he could be a real pain to deal with. The giant of a man refocused on the two wild Pokémon and watched how the Roggenrola fretted over the Clefairy’s injured leg. The Fairy type on the other hand was looking at him and his Pokémon with a cautious, if confused, look on its face. He smiled assuringly at her. “Hello there. My name is Leonard and this here is Fern.” He introduced himself once more and bowed his head slightly in greeting. If he wanted to have the creature agree to his plan, then the least he could do was come over as friendly. “I see you noticed how your leg is hurting, and I’m afraid to say it might have gotten broken thanks to that floating rock’s attack.” He explained gently, hoping to the gods that the creature could understand the meaning behind his words, if not the words themselves. His eyes turned sad and a concerned look formed on his face, worry clear in his eyes. “Unfortunately, while I was able to take care of your minor injuries I cannot help you with that. Right here and now, that is. What I can do is take you with me back to town and heal you up there by a professional. It might take a while before we get there, but at least you’d be safe during the travel and won’t have to worry too much about anything you while you heal. So, would you? Please?” Leonard bowed his head, pleading for the creature to join him if only to take some of the worry off of his chest. He had said his piece and done whatever he could to heal the Clefairy. All that was left was for his words and intentions to be understood by the Fairy type. He did not raise his head when he heard chattering between the two wild Pokémon, he did not raise his head when he heard his Fern make its own noises - almost as if he was defending Leonard - and he did not raise his head when he heard footsteps coming towards him. When he saw the Roggenrola, the creature being small enough to walk into his line of sight even with a crouched position and lowered head, he watched as it gave him a timid nod. The man raised his head quickly to look the Fairy type in the eye. The creature looked at him with a pained smile and nodded as well. A beaming smile grew on the man’s face before he rummaged through his backpack and pulled out a red PokéBalls and tried to make his way to the Fairy type. Tried to, at least. He quickly found his path blocked by Roggenrola whose ear gazed at him. It made a sound not unlike someone tapping two stones against one another and pointed with the oblong on top of its head to the Clefairy, then at him and then it raised itself with another cry. Leonard blinked a few times at the creature’s action and looked at the Fairy Pokémon for confirmation. The Pokémon cried out to its friend, so he assumed as the Roggenrola walked backwards to the Fairy type, before it slung an arm over the Rock type, pointed to itself, then to the Roggenrola and finally pointed at him. Leonard’s smiled widened even further, hurting his cheeks, as their decision hit him. He excitedly nodding his head and quickly crouched down once more to grab another PokéBall out his bag. Once the bag was slung over his shoulder once more he walked over to the two Pokémon with Fern at his heels. He crouched for a third time and offered a hand with a ball to each creature. “All you have to do is push the button, which’ll make travel far more comfortable. I promise I’ll get you fixed up as soon as possible and that you won’t regret your choice. When you’re healed up I’ll make sure to have you returned back here. Back to your home.” His tone was relief, and happiness, and joy, and warm, and oh so grateful. The two Pokémon looked at each other and nodded. The Clefairy reached with one hand to a Ball while its other hand pushed the Roggenrola’s oblong to the other one. The two looked, well the Clefairy did, him in the eye just before they disappeared in a flash of light. Gazing at the two PokéBalls in his hands, Leonard couldn’t stop the feeling of joy well up at the thought of having two more friends join him, even if only temporary. He pocketed the Balls away and stared at Fern. The Wily Pokémon stared back at him with a resigned look in its eyes, but a tired smile on its face. Leonard simply laughed at the look. “Come on, Fern. Let’s get out these caves before that rock finds us again.” Sagan's Den - Lost and more lost ~ End Post Word Count: 2,511 Total Word Count: 7,425 |
