"Ah, I just love this weather. Don't you, Rose?"

"Bud! Budew!"

The young girl, Alice, and her Pokemon partner, Rose, a young Budew, were were sitting against a tall tree in the middle of Skytouch Forest. The two of them had just recently started their journey in the world of Pokemon. It was about one week prior that Rose was given to Alice by her father and then they had started traveling later that day. They were hopeful that this journey would be successful and there would be little that would be able to get in their way.

"I guess that maybe we should start thinking about how we're going to go about continuing our journey, aren't we?"

"Bud!"

"Alright then, what should we do? Maybe we should get you stronger and look for some more Pokemon to add to the team!"

"Bud!"

"As long as they meet my requirements, though. I want cute friends! That have to be either super cute or super pretty! Kya ha ha ha!"

Alice broke out into a childish laughter and then stood up, followed by Rose bouncing up from her spot and landing on Alice's shoulder. The two of them would walk through the forest for a bit with Alice chatting about random things, such as how cute an accessory is that she owns or about different Pokemon that she liked. She seemed quite long-winded as if she'd be able to keep on going for hours without end. Though, this was just one of the features that made Alice who she was and she demanded respect for this.

A few minutes into their walk through the forest, a new presence seemed to enter the scene. It dashed through the shadows, using everything it could as cover to protect itself from entering Alice's line of vision while seeming to stick as close to her as possible. It had dashed around behind bushes, crawled up trees, and leaped through the branches up above. This new presence, however, seemed to grow known by Rose. Being a Pokemon, her senses were quite a bit better than that of a human, making it viable for Rose to easily detect whatever it was that was lurking through the forest and following them. Rose perked up and begin trying to catch a glimpse of what was moving around, but it seemed to be stalking them with great expertise. Alice was just walking and talking as she was totally unaware of this new presence. Rose would jump down from her perch on Alice's shoulder and then run back on the trail just a few feet before stopping.

"What's wrong, Rose? Is something wrong?" Alice stopped when the young Budew leaped from her shoulder and then seemed distressed about something. "Is something there?" Rose stayed silent as it tried to locate the new presence. Without a moment's warning, a shadow seemed to come out of a the treetops and land on Alice's head. It scurried about on top of her head and ruffled her hair until it became a massive, curly mess of golden knots. The shadow then dashed to the ground and stopped, turning around, and glaring right at Alice with a gleam in its eyes.

"Kyaaaaaaaaa! My hair! Oh, my beautiful hair!" Alice dropped to her knees, threw down her backpack, and ruffled through it until she pulled out a small hand mirror and a brush. She stared at her reflection as she speedily brushed out the knots in her hair. Luckily, thanks to her excellent hair care, she had knocked out all of the knots without ripping out her hair. Alice then stood and shot a glare right at this small creature that had just assaulted her precious, golden hair. Her eyes narrowed, giving off an almost evil look at this small thing, which now was backing down. It no longer showed itself as a shadow since the sun now shone upon the small creature. Long ears, large head, small body, and a long tail. It was fluffy and looked super soft to the touch. Once Alice got a good look at this thing, her expression changed from one of hate and disgust to one of love and admiration.

"Kyaaaaaaaaa! It's so cute! I want it! What is it!?" Alice whipped out her Pokedex and right away flipped the device open for a scan on the Pokemon.

"Minccino, the Chinchilla Pokemon. It is the younger form of the Scarf Pokemon Cinccino. They greet one another by rubbing each other with their tails, which are always kept well groomed and clean. These Pokémon prefer a tidy habitat. They are always sweeping and dusting, using their tails as brooms."

After the Pokedex finished with it's explanation of the Pokemon, Minccino, Alice dove forward and seemed to tackle the small, mousy. The two of them rolled along the ground and she had it in a deathly tight grip as it tried with all its might to escape her, utterly failing in its attempts. Alice would stand up, holding the Pokemon in her arms, and would stare at it. She really loved this Pokemon. It was cute and had a truly beautiful fur coat on it.

"Kyaaaaa! I just can't get over how cute you are! I'm tooooootally going to capture you now! Hold still while I get a ball ready..." Alice would let go of the Minccino with one arm and reach down to her bag as she tried to pull out a Pokeball without releasing her captive. Unfortunately, the Minccino had pushed itself away from Alice as she was pulling out the capture device. "Oh no you don't! Get your fluffy butt back here!" The Minccino was scurrying away as fast as it could, but Alice was keeping up just fine. The Minccino would turn sporadically and try to shake her off, but the two of them ended up just running in circles with Alice not letting up for a moment. The Minccino would keep running as fast as it could until it tripped over a small rock and would tumble right into a tree. Disoriented and terribly confused, the Minccino would lean back and look upward, only to see Alice there, madder than hell and looking as if she was ready to use Flamethrower and transform into a Charizard. "You think you can escape me!? I will not let anything as cute as you escape me!" Alice lifted the Pokeball and aimed it at the corner Minccino. "Break out of this and I'm going to feed you to a Feraligator!" The Minccino seemed shocked so badly by that threat that it almost inflicted paralysis on it. Alice would open the Pokeball and the red beam that was released would suck in the Minccino, locking it within the capture device. Wiggle ... wiggle ... wiggle ... CLICK! The Minccino had been captured. Alice began jumping up and down, shouting about how well she had done capturing the Pokemon. Behind her, in the same spot as it had been the entire time, was Rose, looking dumbfounded at Alice due to the girl's terrifying behavior during her attempts to chase down the Minccino.

And it continues...

Alice was jumping up and down, cheering for herself on her job well done with catching her new Minccino. Rose, Alice's Budew, was shaking its head, slightly ashamed to be in Alice's presence, at what she was doing. Right behind Rose would then sound out the thud of five pairs of boots carrying five females, whom all seemed to be more than just moderately attractive.

"Hey, look at this, ladies! It's a cute, little girl who has some Pokemon! I bet she thinks that she's a real trainer!" A girl in a red skirt, carrying a red purse, and with blonde hair was the first to speak up. She definitely was the oldest, judging simply by how mature she looked. She had to be in the mid to late twenties and seemed to be quite experienced in battling, as one could tell from the six Pokeballs that she had holstered on a utility belt around her waist.

"Oh, isn't that just the funniest thing! I bet she really just started and hasn't even been in a battle before!" Then next to speak was a blonde girl, considerably younger, perhaps only nineteen or twenty years old, that wore a darker gold colored shirt and white shorts. She had only two Pokeballs with her at the time, which meant she had a bit of experience, most likely, but wasn't on the same level as the older one.

"Yeah, maybe she's weak. It'd be funny if someone went and beat her in a battle" Another girl, carrying a single Pokeball, showing that she was more of a novice than any of the others, had spoken up. She was blonde, but wore a dark blue dress that had a deeply saturated hue. She was obviously younger than the others, likely only sixteen or seventeen years old. She seemed pretty shy and it was pretty obvious that she was only speaking out that way so that she'd fit in with the rest of the group.

"Then maybe you should be the one to battle her, Alana." A more quiet girl from the back of the bunch spoke up towards the young one that had just spoken out about the battle. This girl was somewhere in the middle of the group's ages. She was in her early twenties and carried three Pokeballs. She was probably quite experienced and seemed to be the smarter one of the bunch. She also seemed to be more reasonable than the others.

"What?! But I don't think that I'm right for the job..." Alana was regretting speaking out against Alice.

"Then perhaps you should talk so big. Especially when you're the least experienced and youngest of us all."

"B-but... Oh dear... I don't want to, but it looks like I have to..."

"Uh uhm... Uh, do we have to just fight this girl? I don't like it when you guys fight strangers like this!" This girl that had spoken up looked just a bit older than the one dubbed as Alana. Maybe just about seventeen or eighteen. She seemed to dislike battling and didn't even hold any Pokeballs with her, but she had on a backpack that one could assume was filled with their supplies for taking care of the Pokemon. Perhaps she was more fit for treating Pokemon and caring for their injuries rather than battling.

"Oh, shut it, Katie! Just let Alana have this battle and we'll go out and catch some new Pokemon here. I heard that there are some really great Pokemon in this forest." The elder one of the group spoke up again to shut up the other girl that was against the battle.

"Alrightl! It's time for us to battle! I think we should do single Pokemon rules! I'll try my best!""

The entire time that this group of girls was ranting at Alice, she had been going through her bag and had already started eating a snack, sharing it with Rose, her Budew. It was only now that the group had noticed Alice's ignorance towards them. Alana, the one that was to be challenging Alice to the battle, stepped forward and stood firm in front of her.

"Hey! Don't ignore me! Please just battle me!"

"Mmm....No thanks!" Alice took one last bite of her granola bar snack and then stood up, throwing her bag over her shoulder. "I'm going to keep on moving. I really don't have time for people like you," she said, making a sly comment to their looks. Alice said she didn't have time for people that she didn't think were very pretty or really beautiful. They talked big, which made Alice think of them as inferior to herself. Therefore, she had no time to deal with them. "Maybe if you guys find me another time, I'll be in a better mood to deal with you."

"That girl..." One of the sisters muttered to herself. She was fuming mad and was not going to let her younger sister take that from Alice. "Well I guess that you're just intimidated by our beauty! Yeah, that's right! You're ugly and can't stand the intimidation from our good looks!"

"Oh, is that so?" Alice snapped. She had been walking away, but froze in her tracks and her head seemed to twist back around in a demonic way. "Maybe I do have time to show you what I'm made of!" Again, just like when the Minccino had angered her, she seemed as if she was about to transform into a terrifying Pokemon and use Flamethrower on them all.

TRAINER ENCOUNTER :: Alice v. Beauty Alana

"Come on! We're gonna do this here and we're gonna it now!"

"Uh! Uhm! Oh, okay..."

"Come on, Alana! You can kick her butt if you get your head in the game!"

With the exception of the loud sister in the gold shirt, the sisters were watching quietly as the battle was now ready to commence. Alana would pull out a Pokeball and Alice would hold up the Pokeball that now contained her new Pokemon, Minccino. ALana would toss out her Pokeball first. The containment device would release a small, cat-like Pokemon, which was revealed to be a Skitty once it was fully released from the Pokeball.

"Okay, Lacey! Let's get ready to do this! Do your best!" The little Skitty would let out a soft meowing noise and then brace itself for battle as Alice lifted the Pokeball in her hand and would throw it forward It would burst open and let loose the newly capture Minccino.

"Alright, Fichu! Let's do this! We can win!" The Minccino turned around and looked at Alice with a nasty expression. It was obviously pissed off and looked like it would rather fight Alice than the Skitty.

"Oh look at that! The mouse thing is making THE UGLIEST expression at the little girl! That's hilarious! Alana's Lacey is much cuter than that rodent!" The comment was really bad for the girl to have made. Fichu, the Minccino, turned around in a similar manner to how Alice had turned around to face the group of sisters. The Pokemon was pissed at them now. It was a lot like Alice in a way, but it was more concerned with things that were prettier than it was. Calling it ugly was basically saying that they were better looking than it, but they specified that the Skitty was much cuter. Now Fichu's wrath would be directed right at Lacey, Alana's Skitty.

"Just start the match already!" The leader of the group of sisters was getting impatient and was starting to get irritated with all of the interruptions. She wanted this battle over with so that she could get some training out of the way.

"O-okay... Lacey, use Tackle!" Alana sent out the order to her Skitty and the small Pokemon soon followed up with a full-powered charge right at Fichu, Alice's Minccino. Before Alice could give the order, Fichu acted on its own and seemed to puff out its fur a bit to make it look a bit bigger and a bit more intimidating. It then used a Growl attack and let loose a mean-sounding hiss as its Growl. The Skitty stopped, stunned for a moment, but continued on forward with a lot less force put into its attack. It was scared that the Minccino was going to hurt it badly if it missed.

"Good job, Fichu! Now, let's work together from now on! Dodge when it gets close and use your Pound attack!" As Lacey got in close, Fichu stepped to the side quickly and then shoved a fist right into Lacey's side. The hit knocked it back a bit and Alana gasped as she saw her Pokemon take the hit.

"Oh, no! Lacey, are you okay?"

"Charge in with another Pound attack!" Alice gave the order for Fichu to go forward and attack and so it did. The young Minccino ran forward and leaped into the air, coming down with a full-power strike that it intended to end the battle with.

"Come on, Lacey! Dodge it!"Lacey managed to jump back as she let the Pound attack fall into the ground. "Follow up with Tackle!" Lacey would acknowledge the command by quickly charging forward and slamming her head into Fichu's body, sending the mouse-like Pokemon tumbling across the ground. Fichu quickly regained her composure and stood there, string down Lacey. Luckily for Fichu, the Growl attack that she had down earlier left Lacey still a bit weaker than she would usually be.

"Alright! Let's end this! One more Pound attack and this battle should be over!" Fichu nodded and charged forward as it readied a final attack to end the battle.

"Come on, Lacey! Let's go all out! Use your Tackle attack and take down that mouse!" The cat Pokemon would charge forward and push itself at full power now. The two Pokemon would collide and then both of them would be knocked back. The Pound attack from Fichu hit hard against Lacey's head, but the Tackle attack from Lacey launched Fichu pretty hard. The two struggled to get up after that collision. Alice and Alana cheered their respective Pokemon on, hoping that they'd get up. It was tense now and the group of sisters was surprisingly silent as the suspense of the end of this fight began to intensify. Fichu got one foot solid on the ground, but Lacey seemed to be getting up quicker. Lacey then pulled ahead and got standing on all fours. Fichu was still trying to stance. Alana's face lit up, but her happiness soon ended when she saw Lacye fall back down and lay there. She was unable to continue. Fichu managed to finally get up on both feet and then would walk back towards Alice, whom picked up the small Pokemon and held it in her arms.

"It looks like I won this time."

"I am sooooo sorry! Really, I didn't think that I would win, but I was pressured into talking tough by my older sisters! Please forgive me attacking you like that!" Alana was on her knees, bend over with her head to the ground and her palms on the ground next to her face, begging for forgiveness from Alice, whom was sitting a nearby tree stump and stroking the fur of her tired Minccino.

"Oh, come on. Get up. You just look uglier when you're bent over and groveling like that. A lady should look more refined." Alice turned her head away from the girl and continued to pet her Pokemon. She was a little pissed off about being attacked like that, but she didn't really hold grudges. She knew that she'd likely get over this after she started traveling a bit more.

"She's right, Alana, you should get up. Be stronger out of battle and you'll see results in battle, too." Alana sat up and then pushed herself onto her feet, wiping a tear away from her eyes as she walked back to her sisters. The leader of this group of sisters, the one with the red shirt and bag, stepped forward a bit to confront Alice. "You did well, girl. I'm Charlotte, the leader of our team. I expect you to cross our path once again. When that time comes, I'd love for you to have another battle with one of us. Maybe once you beat a few gyms, you'll be on the same level as I am." Charlotte flipped her golden hair as she pivoted around and walked back into her group. "Do be sure to train a lot, okay?"

Alice watched as Charlotte walked off. She'd then stand up and walk away from them, as well, carrying Fichu in her arms. Before she could get more than ten steps along her way, she'd feel a hand on her left shoulder.

"I'm sorry to bother you anymore, but this is for you." The girl earlier dubbed as Katie pushed a piece of paper towards Alice and smiled at her. Alice took it and then stuffed it into a pouch in her dress. "That piece of paper has the xtransceiver codes on it that will allow you to all me and Alana. If you ever need some help or you want another battle, be sure to give us a call and set up a place to meet. I may not look it, but I can hold my own in a fight, too." Katie would back up from Alice and then go running back to her group of as they then disappeared through the thicket of trees in this forest.

...An hour or so later...

Alice had already put Fichu back in her Pokeball and was walking along a new path. Fichu had recover a bit of her energy, but still wasn't totally fit for battle yet. The battle with Alana from that group of sisters had taken a large toll on the little Minccino. Alice knew that it would be wise to take Fichu to a Pokemon Center as soon as she got out of this forest. Rose, however, was in perfect condition and it would probably be wise for Alice to start training against some wild Pokemon with Rose so that the Budew would be able to evolve as soon as it could and become a more beautiful Pokemon.

Alice began to go into a daze as she was daydreaming about her Budew evolving into a Roselia and eventually into a Roserade once she had retrieved a Shiny Stone to use on it. When Alice finally had a Roserade, she'd be super happy all the time. After all, Roserade has always been her favorite Pokemon. However, she did have a long list of Pokemon that she enjoyed. She liked Milotic, Frosslass, and Cinccino quite a bit. All three of them were Pokemon that she wanted on her team. And now, with her new partner, Fichu, she'd be even closer to obtaining one of those three Pokemon.

In her daze, Alice continued to walk, seeming to evolve her light steps into an enthusiastic skipping motion. She traversed through the thick collection of trees and was unknowingly going deeper and deeper into the woods. She kept speeding up and was dodging trees left and right, but slipped up. Her whole, little body would slam into the trunk of a massive tree, probably one of the largest and sturdiest in the whole forest. The petite girl bounced right off of the hard wood and fell straight onto her rear end.

"Ow ow ow ow.... Stupid tree! Don't get in my way!" As she was yelling at the tree, something was falling from it. It was a disk of sorts and it was hurdling down nearly at terminal velocity, given that it was falling from quite a sizable altitude. The silver disk glinted as a single ray of light bounced off of it. Alice caught a glimpse of that sheen as it passed in less than even half of a second. SHe quickly rolled to the side as the disk slapped right into the ground next to her. It dug in about four inches. With how fast it was moving and how thin the disk was, it could have sliced a pretty good distance into Alice's body. "That was close...." The squeal of a Pokemon would peel out through the air and would grow louder as whatever was making the noise was getting closer. Alice looked up to where the sound was coming from and saw a Ledyba speeding down towards her. What had happened was when Alice slammed into the tree, it had startled the Pokemon, whom was puppy guarding this disk. The Ledyba has knocked the disk down and was now chasing after it. The Pokemon would collide with Alice and the two of them would tumble along the ground for a few feet. The Ledyba, as soon as they stopped moving, would break away from Alice and then flutter over to the disk and attempt to yank it out of the ground. Alice would jump up and look down at her dress, which was now tattered with mud and grass all over. Her eyes darted right over to the Ledyba. She proceeded to stomp over and then snatch the Pokemon into the air. "Alright, wise guy! I am NOT letting you get away with just getting my outfit this dirty and not paying for it! I'm gonna take that little disk of yours and there isn't a thing that you can do about it!" Alice would toss the Ledyba into the air and behind her as she bent over, ripped the disk from the ground and cleaned the dirt off of it. She then pocketed it into one of the pouches on her dress. She would stash it into her backpack later. The Ledyba would then come in and use a Tackle attack that slammed right into the back of her head, which caused her to plant herself, head first, into the ground. She pushed herself out of the mud and dirt and looked up to see the Ledyba pissed off and wanting its treasure back. Alice brushed the mud and dirt off of her face and then stood up. She was totally going to take this Pokemon down.

POKEMON ENCOUNTER :: Wild Ledyba

Alice pulled out a Pokeball and then pushed it forward. It popped open and release the red beam that materialized into Rose, her Budew. The Ledyba jump rolled around in the air and was laughing, taunting Alice and her Rose.

"We are SO not going to take that! Come on, Rose, let's knock it down a couple notches!" The Budew jumped up and down a few times, peeved by the Ledybas taunting as well, and was acknowledging Alice and telling her that she was ready for the fight. "Alright, knock it out of the air with your Absorb attack!"

"Bud! Bud!" Rose yelped out in acknowledgement then proceeded to shoot a beam out of the bulb on its head towards the Ledyba. The beam was colored red and purple, just like the colors of the flowers that Roserade had. The beam traveled quickly and was aimed very well at the wild Ledyba, but the Bug Pokemon rolled to the side in the air and let the beam shoot far passed it.

"Oh, no! Come on, Rose! Get up!" Rose bounced back and then was ready to continue.
