I am requesting a modification for my character, Tucker Kerrigan.
Link: Mr. Grumpykins Type: Update Requesting: Updating to new stat system Changes:
Spoiler: click to toggle Character Name: Tucker Kerrigan Nickname:Tuck Gender: Male Age: 17 Trainer Class: Ace TrainerGeneral Appearance Height: 6’0” Weight: 160 lbs. Hair Color & Style: Short and spiky, barely long enough to touch the ends of his ears. The color is a very distinguishable bright orange. Eyes: Blue Clothing/Accessories: There is only one article on his person that carries any sentimental value: a dark gray scarf tied around his wrist embroidered with the mark of the Scurarte Town Gym. Tuck can almost always be seen wearing a blue T shirt over a plain white undershirt. His bottoms are always the same: black cargo shorts with nice deep pockets for holding anything he might readily need (Pokeballs, Pokedex, Trainer Card, etc.) On his feet is the latest pair of cool white and blue basketball shoes, which assert him as having a slight sprinkling of style.
The worn backpack that holds his more substantial belongings is the same one he used for school, so it has visibly seen heavy use. Inside the beat up bag is a light jacket in case of emergencies, and anything else he doesn’t feel comfortable carrying in his pockets.
General Appearance: Tuck’s most distinguishable characteristic is his gingerness: orange hair and paler skin tone. It’s something he hears a lot about, but has simply accepted it as what makes him unique. Other than that, there is not much else special about him. Usually he is off in his own little world and has an absent minded look about him. Whenever his attention is on this planet he typically is stoic and stiff.
Hometown: Central Godai, North District Personality Methodical, intelligent, and motivated by a daunting contract, Tuck will do what he must in order to succeed. The lofty goals he sets for himself are his greatest priority and he will go to great lengths to achieve them, even if it means coming across as selfish in the process. In his mind nothing is worse than a defeat resulting in nothing learned, and one of his biggest fears is regression. Whenever he does not perform up to his own high standards he has a tendency to be harsh on himself, and can incredibly analytical of even the tiniest of his mistakes.
In battle he can be quite cold blooded and does not usually let up until it is decided. He excels at identifying his opponent’s weaknesses and then exploiting them with a heavy amount of offense. Most opponents are viewed as obstructions in the way of what he hopes to accomplish, so he finds no reason to feel bad about doing what it takes to defeat them.
Simply being an introvert by nature, Tucker’s mood is often times more on the reserved side. The method in which he functions is very cerebral. He does a lot of thinking and as a result not lot of talking, though he is not shy at all. He can carry a conversation just fine but will not likely initiate, probably because he just plain doesn’t concern himself with what other people are doing. He is prolific for being oblivious and randomly spacing out into his own thoughts.
Not many people know Tuck as being more than a pent up tightwad. In public he minds his own business and doesn’t care much about random strangers, but will not necessarily be a jerk to them. Despite being an only child he never received a lot of love and warmth from his impersonal parents, which helped develop his cold and unattached suit of armor. Those who are able to peel away his rough outer shell will find a caring, loyal, and genuine person underneath. This side of him is most visible when he is alone with his Pokémon, specifically Ryu, who he shares a deep and genuine bond with. Unfortunately this soft side is very unlikely to be displayed in the presence of other people.
Tuck feels most comfortable when he is able to carefully plan out his next move rather than go with the flow. When things do not work out exactly as he foresees, he can tend to be derailed by even the slightest bump in the road. That being said, he is not the greatest problem solver when it comes to practical situations. He can do any number or word puzzle you put in front of him, but can sometimes really lack in the common sense department.
Tuck is not a typical geek by any means. He enjoys physical activity and being outdoors more than most other kids at his intelligence level. Also, he is tougher than one might expect someone from his upbringing to be. He is fully aware of the dangers that accompany the life of a Pokemon trainer, and is not afraid of them despite growing up in a relatively safe, sheltered environment. History Tucker was born into a rather comfortable household in Central Godai. His father maintains a stable accounting job at a major company in the North District, providing his family with a stable home. Given their sizeable income, Mr. and Mrs. Kerrigan were able to give their only child the finest education available, hoping to nudge him down the same path as his father.
The boy excelled in his schoolwork and possessed an obvious aptitude for it, but he always longed for something more. Day in and day out he went through the motions of what was expected of him, a lifestyle that quickly became dull. He was like a Rattata running endlessly on an exercise wheel. Nothing ever changed. At the end of each identical day he was left with the same tired feelings. He felt as if his life was predetermined by what his parents had wanted for him, and that he never truly had the choice to do as he pleased. But what exactly did he want to do? Even Tucker himself was initially unsure of what the answer to that was. When he began thinking about it, an idea soon came to him.
There was something that interested him far more than numbers, or schoolwork: Pokemon. The TV would always show stories of trainers his age whose lives were filled with adventure and excitement, something his was completely devoid of. He envied the freedom that was synonymous with the title of Pokemon Trainer. That was it. That brand of liberty was exactly what he was looking for. It was perfect. Perhaps becoming a trainer would be the thing that could change his horribly redundant lifestyle. There was only one huge issue.
He knew his conservative parents would be against the idea, and he feared the likelihood of his idea being shot down. Finally, he realized that being shot down was better than choosing to not bring it up at all. If he didn’t, he would spend the rest of his life asking “What if?” while pencil pushing at some boring desk job. When he finally worked up the courage to bring up the subject, he made sure his delivery was firm and direct.
As expected, his close minded parents were not very receptive of the idea, especially his dad. They argued that Tucker had too much talent to condescend to the level of a Pokemon trainer. To his father, the idea of Tucker becoming a Pokemon trainer would be an insult to his true potential, and that a stable job would be far better for him. After a long and intense night of negotiating, Tucker was able to come to an agreement with his stubborn parents. His father allowed him one year to live as a Pokemon trainer, and if Tucker could prove to be productive, he would be allowed to continue on however pleased. If he failed to impress his father after one year’s time, Tucker would agree to forget about the whole thing and assimilate into the working world. As preposterous and unreasonable these terms were Tuck was left with no other options. Accepting the outlandish proposal was the only way he would be permitted to go.
Motivated to succeed by this deal, Tucker is determined to make it as far as he possibly can. The more he accomplishes, the more he will have to show to his parents. The stakes are raised even more by what he wishes to prove to himself as well. If Tucker can complete this quest, it would be proof that his life is not predetermined as he once thought, giving him the peace of mind he desperately needs. Charmeleon Caught at Level 5
Nickname: Ryu Gender: Male Type: Fire Ability: Blaze Height: 3'7'' Weight: 41.9 lbs
Personality Ryu's goofy and gregarious nature allow him to serve as Tucker's perfect foil. He constantly jokes around and views the world with a curious fascination. His comical antics are completely unintentional and natural, never done to gain attention or praise. In fact, genuine is one of the most accurate descriptions you could give him. Every action he performs is one hundred percent true to his feelings and done without the slightest bit of pretense.
Don't let his endearing silliness fool you, however, because Ryu is quite strong in battle. He possesses the same will to improve as his Trainer, and arguably has even more determination than he does. Getting Ryu to stay down is a difficult task due to his sheer will and toughness. Most of the time Tucker has to decide for him when to admit defeat, because he will always at least attempt to get back up no matter how hurt he may be. History Ryu is a product of the only egg fathered by the famously powerful Charizard Ignatius, companion of renowned Professor Ashford. The Professor grew an immediate soft spot for the little guy, and not just because of the sentiment attached to him. The Professor found his goofy antics to be an absolute riot, and loved having him around to break up the occasional monotony that came in his work. Ash was like a loving uncle to him, and the three of them lived in the lab as one happy family.
As a young hatchling Ryu looked up to his parent with his sparklingly wide eyes. He absolutely loved watching Ignatius demonstrate his incredible strength and majestic mastery over flame attacks. Whenever there was a second of free time, Ryu would excitedly beg Igny to show him more of his tricks. After a while Professor Ashford just began to pop in old videos of his televised trainer battles so that he could actually get some work done, as well as give Ryu's exhausted old dad a bit of rest from chasing after his energetic young child.
Ryu did not mind it at all and would glue his googly eyes to the lab's giant TV screen for hours while he watched the old tapes, getting just as much if not more enjoyment out of it than watching him in person. He must have watched them all hundreds of times, but never got bored watching how cool his beloved father was. Sometimes Igny would plop down next to his boy and they would watch together as he reflected on nostalgic old memories of fighting with Ashford before his Professor days.
They were all very happy being together, but Professor Ash knew he had to make a very difficult. He saw how much the Charmander dreamed of being like his father, but he would never be able to live out that dream inside the walls of the lab. It's not like the Professor had the time to train the Charmander himself. Although Ashford loved him greatly, he was not nearly selfish enough to keep him confined in the lab forever. It was time that he finally go out and become what he wanted to be. He explained the situation to Ignatius and once receiving his nod of approval, the two of them sat down with Ryu one afternoon to explain the situation. The Charmander was excited to have this chance, but seemed apprehensive about leaving his family. Ashford promised him that he would only entrust him to a responsible and caring Trainer. The Charmander trusted his uncle's word, but could not help being a tad bit nervous.
One morning an interesting young teen by the name of Tuck found his way into the lab and implored for Ashford's assistance in giving him a Pokemon. The young man was desperately motivated, a quality that intrigued the Professor. Upon inquiring further about Tuck's motivations, he learned that the young man wanted to go on a journey in hopes gaining the approval of his cold and un supportive parents. The Professor was very saddened to hear the story of Tuck's family situation. It was sad that such an intelligent and responsible young man felt like he had to move mountains just to be accepted by his parents. In Ashford's mind a Pokemon journey is a time where young people discover themselves by traveling and experiencing the world. Tuck's plan to go on a frantic hunt for insignificant badges was missing the point entirely. Ash had then realized that the Charmander had found it's perfect match, albeit it was not what he originally visualized his perfect match to be.
These two needed each other. That was the realization Professor Ashford came to. Tuck needed a companion that he could love and care for, and have those feelings equally reciprocated. Perhaps then his mature and responsible, yet icy heart would be melted, in turn teaching him that there is more to being a Trainer than collecting badges. Ash knew from experience and learned this himself back when he was a Trainer himself. On the other hand Charmander needed a trainer who would be patient enough to deal with his big personality, as well as someone that would be able to match his intense determination.
When Tuck was given the chance to choose his Pokemon, he coincidentally chose the Charmander. The Professor could not have been happier that it worked out so perfectly, and saw the two off with a warm smile. After Tuck excitedly exited the lab, Ashford was forced to wipe the moisture beginning to collect in the corner of his eye. It was sad to say goodbye but he was extremely excited for the both of them, knowing that each had what it took to make the other happy. Nickname: Kirei Gender: Female Type: Normal Ability: Adaptability Height: 1'0'' Weight: 14.3 lbs
Personality Like her trainer, Kirei feels most comfortable as a quiet observer. Unlike her trainer however, she has a very nurturing and empathetic spirit. She fights not for herself, but for the sake of those around her. This brand of selfless helps balance out Tuck’s tendency to worry only about himself. History Currently, not much is known about Kirei’s past. After accepting her as a favor for a struggling entrepreneur named Koji, Tuck discovered that she originally belonged to the Cobalt Corporation, a bitter business rival. Kirei’s purpose to the Corporation, and how she ended up in the hands of their competition, is unknown.
