Preview Trainer ProfileCharacter Name: Mildred Johnson Nickname: Nana, Grandma Millie Gender: Female Age: 77 Trainer Class: Old Lady Appearance Height: 5’5” Weight: 150 Hair Color & Style: Short and gray, styled in a curly grandma bouffant. Eyes: Green and round, framed by wiry gray eyebrows and plenty of wrinkles from smiling. Clothing/Accessories: Mildred often wears a button up collared shirt under a knit cardigan (which may or may not be decorated with meowth and skitty) and some elastic waistband slack that sit pretty high. She wears white orthopedic velcro shoes and will occasionally don a visor when it is sunny. Mildred also wears a gold wedding band and some earrings as well as a very useful fanny-pack. General Appearance: Earlier in her life, Mildred was a few inches taller. Age, however, has diminished her height slightly. She is neither thin nor overly plump, rather her physique is at a happy and (relatively) healthy medium. Her permed gray hair is short, no longer than her ears, and sits expertly atop her aged head. Millie’s hands are knobby, spotted, and soft, save the calluses on her fingers from endless hours of crocheting and knitting. Wrinkles adorn her face with their spiderweb of lines, proof that she was ever emotive throughout her life. Most noticeable are the wrinkles around her eyes and mouth which perfectly frame her rosy cheeks when she smiles. Her earlobes sag from the weight of years of earrings. Personality and History Hometown: Grengrothe Town, East Godai
Personality: Mildred is easily identified by her strong sense of independence. This often is translated into a profound stubbornness. Having spent all of her life in Grengrothe, Mildred, is very ignorant of how things in the larger world function. She is particularly baffled by all of the new fangled technology about. This ignorance paired with her independence often causes her to fall into trouble. She loves to smile and knit and is a fan of small, fluffy Pokemon. As a mother she was strict yet loving. As a grandmother she was just loving. Mildred tends to expect a certain amount of propriety from the people she encounters but she has a very forgiving disposition for the most part.
History: Mildred grew up in Grengrothe Town. As a girl, she dreamed of exploring the world and visiting new places like her father who was successful traveling businessman. She was a spunky little girl in primary school who quickly befriended a boy a few years older than herself. His name was Wilford Johnson. When he graduated primary school, Wilford went to work on his father’s farm. Mildred’s family insisted she attend a secondary school and although she turned heads as she matured into a beautiful young woman, she only had eyes for the seemingly gruff Wilford Johnson.
Wilford eventually asked Mildred to marry him. Putting aside her aspirations of adventure dropping out of secondary school, Mildred accepted. Her parents were less than thrilled to have their daughter quit her schooling to marry a simple farmer. Mildred knew what she wanted though, and while she may have burned some bridges with her family, she built an unbreakable bond with Wilford by becoming his wife. They had three children, Robert, Linda, and Deborah. Wilford eventually inherited his father’s farm, the children grew older, got married, and had children of their own.
Mildred and Wilford, now empty nesters, happily continued their life together in Grengrothe, farming and knitting. While her hair and his mustache turned gray, their love only grew stronger. One winter, Wilford came down with a respiratory infection. Even with medicine from Herbalife City, he didn’t seem to be recovering. Mildred, after abandoning aspirations and devoting the majority of her life to the man she loved, was widowed.
Not long after their father was buried, Mildred’s children began to discussing their mother’s ability to live alone. They considered getting her a companion Pokemon too keep her company. Upon a visit with her children, however, Mildred assured them that she wasn’t lonely. She was acting as if Wilford was still around. Her children immediately decided that she had gone off the deep end and needed to be moved to an assisted living facility.
Mildred knew she wasn’t crazy. She knew that her Wilford wasn’t gone. And she sure wasn’t incapable of taking care of herself. Invigorated by her threatened independence, Mildred decided she would fulfill her childhood aspiration of exploring the world. After leaving a note for her children, Mildred, with Wilford the Yamask in tow, headed out on their adventure.
