OOC: I deleted my old journey thread to start anew, since the moderator who frequently updated me is gone. And it was pretty much a reserved thread for us as well.

There were certain places I enjoyed strolling through while hunting for Pokemon. One of them were beautiful, calm seas. Another one is where I currently were; a large forest named Jald Forest.

The latter part of the name is quite obvious, but it wasn't something I bothered to think about for too long. In fact, getting closer to become a Pokemon champion was a joyful feeling, even if it was yet a long way to go.

I started to feel lonely, so I snatched one of my Poke Balls from my belt and threw it into the air, summoning my faithful shiny Leafeon Happa out of this particular device.

"Veee" she cried after materializing to her full form, looking up at me with a bewildered gaze.

"Come on, we need to find a short and safe way through this place. I trust you to be able to track it, since you're a Grass Pokemon" I assured her, a genuine smile appearing on my lips.

And with that, the two friends began their journey into the forest. The locals spoke of wild Tropius being quite destructive to this part of the region, and if one were to be encountered it most definitely would want to take you on in a battle if for nothing more than rage at not having enough food to fill the nearly bottomless pit that was its stomach. On the other hand, you and Happa could get lucky and encounter a Tropius that proved to be a little nicer than those that the people spoke about. Lastly, there was the unlikely chance that no Tropius at all would be encountered while you made your way through Jald Forest.

All of a sudden, Happa froze. Her ears were twitching ever so slightly to pick up a certain noise, and as you wondered what it could be that she was hearing you gradually came to heari it, too. Sounding quite unlike anything one would expect to hear in a forest, you heard the crackling of what one would guess to be electricity in one form or another, and heavy footsteps accompanied by sound of steel grinding against steel. There certainly weren't any Pokémon native to this part of the region that could do that... were there?

Hesitant of what to do now, Happa turned to look up at you. Would it be wise to go and inspect the source of these odd sounds, or would it be better to simply ignore them and continue trying to find a short and safe way through the forest?

Hearing the metallic screeching, as if it was a door with rusty hinges, sent a shiver down my spine. It sounded ominous, almost making my heart beat faster in fear. Gritting my teeth, I took several deep breaths to calm down before looking down at the equally scared Happa.

"You know what they say... 'Curiosity killed the Skitty', or that strange, eerie, almost alien sounds usually end up being dangerous. But I say that we should investigate it. It could be an entirely new Pokemon species that no one have heard of yet."

With that, I crouched down to give Happa a quick pat on her head. "Don't worry. If anything bad would happen, we have our other friends along with us."
Standing up again, I turned my gaze towards where the sounds were heard. I hushed at Happa and quietly told her to stay close to me, as we silently sneaked up to the source of these noises we recently heard.

Sneaking forward until you could peek through the foliage without giving yourselves away, you came upon what appeared to be a battle...

"Pika... pikapikapikapikapika!" The widely known little yellow rodent of electricity was using what appeared to be a full on Volt Tackle!?! She, as evidenced by the small notch in her tail, dashed across the forest floor surrounded by bright yellow sparks that flowed behind her like the tail of a comet. A mighty thrust off the ground sent the small Electric-type flying directly into a bracing... Larion! The mighty Steel/Rock-type took the blow directly to the head and was apparently hit with enough force that it slid back perhaps a foot before becoming aglow and throwing Pikachu back with what looked to be Iron Head if the sudden glowing of the Iron Armor Pokémon's head was enough to go by.

"Aura, you're doing excellent as always with Volt Tackle, but remember that we're trying to get a regular ol' Quick Attack down to give us a bit more flexability in battles," Turning your glance off towards where the Pikachu had been running from, and was now looking towards, you saw a teenage boy who looked to be about 18 years old with a bald head, blue eyes, a mellow yellow jacket over a plain white t-shirt, a pair of blue jeans, and brown tennis shoes. His voice, too, seemed to have a little bit of an English accent. "Larion, you're doing great as well. This time, though, I'd like to see you try out Protect. So, let's do this again!"

As Aura made her way back to her trainer to have yet another try at Quick Attack, Larion let out a short roar as she once again braced for impact while small glowing particles of green energy were gradually starting to gather around her and taking on the form of a dome. Having found that the source of the sounds was not an apparent threat to anybody at the moment or an undiscovered Pokémon, it was your choice whether or not you wanted to reveal yourself to this trainer.

I scoffed, feeling temporarily disappointed at what Happa and I discovered. We were quite certain it was something worth our time.

"Another trainer..." I mumbled. "And it seems like he's training his Pikachu. Tsk."

As someone who had a stubborn determination to reach my goal, I didn't like wasting time on things that wasn't of my interest. Even social interaction irked me sometimes, unless people proved themselves worthy of my time and attention.
Letting out a deep sigh, I glanced at Happa.

"Perhaps we should stay cautious here and watch the battle. I'm still unsure if we could trust him."

Just as before, Aura the Pikachu started dashing across the forest clearing towards Larion, and this time around it seemed she was controlling her electricity! What soon seemed to be quite a successful Quick Attack was just a fair few feet away from landing when out of the foliage came a mighty Solar Beam aimed directly at Larion. Fortunately enough Protect was far enough along to stop not only Solar Beam but Quick Attack as well, but the following emergence of a grand Tropius stepping into the clearing caused the sphere of ultimate defense to flicker out as both Pokémon looked up at the wild Grass/Flying-type in awe.

"Shoot," said the trainer as he brought palm to face, forgetting about the grumpy Tropius of the area in the midst of the training battle. And if this one was glaring down at his two partners, then the rest of the herd probably wasn't too far away. "There's no point in trying to take on a whole herd, so... Aura, Larion! Return!"

Taking a Poké Ball in each hand, the trainer shot out the red tractor beam to his two Pokémon just as Tropius started to rise up to deliver a Stomp. The balls were clipped back on his belt and he turned to run, but as he did so he ended up looking directly at you from your spot in the bushes, and this stopped the trainer right in his tracks. "Eh, miss? Just 'ow long have you been standing there?"

I was stuck on the spot I had been standing for a good while, giving the other trainer a look as if telling him not to do anything funny.

"Long enough to witness most of your Pikachu's battle." I replied flatly. Looking over his shoulder, I could see the Tropius group approaching. "But if you don't want us to be injured, we better move."

Not looking back, I turned my heel and began running the direction I came from. Making sure that Happa was following, thoughts of how to distract the Tropius ran through my mind.

Taking a quick glance over his shoulder, this male trainer saw that more Tropius had indeed joined the first and were closing the distance between he and them at quite the fair rate. Turning back he saw you running off into the forest with your Leafeon following closely behind, and not wanting to stay there and get trampled by the large Pokémon, he followed along as well.

"My name is Trace, by the way!" he called out, doing his best to keep up while watching out of low hanging branches, path blocking bushes, and just trees in general that he'd rather not run into. "If we could find another open patch in this forest I'm sure that my Pikachu, Aura, could help fight these Tropius off. However, she and Larion are my only Pokémon right now, so I'm hoping you've got partners with you other than that little Leafeon?"
