Almost instantly, you and your Pokémon kept safe within their red and white Poké Balls were thrown into a situation. It seemed that a Growlithe had decided to partake in a race against a Tepig, and the two were just getting lined up at a starting point further up the montain as you happened to begin your hike. The two appeared to be counting down with alternating snorts and barks of embers, until when it seemed that the predetermined 'start' number had been reached, the two Fire-types were off! Growlithe gained an early lead as they dashed on down the mountain, but Tepig was quick to fight back with Flame Charge for a little boost of fiery speed. Thus, it didn't take long before the Fire Pig was taking the lead and giving off happy snorts as dashed across the rocky terrain and.... right into you! Colliding at just a little above your knees as Tepig made contact mid-bound, you were sent to your back while Tepig tumbled along a few more feet before coming to a stop, Flame Charge by this point being completely extinguished. Growlithe, who had come to a halt early enough to avoid even chancing an impact with you, now laughed at the odd situation while Tepig glared back with a menacing stare and a snort. "Tep." |

I get up from the embarrassing situation and dust myself off a bit before turning to the young Pokémon. "Hello, how about you to have another race? One where I'm not in the way and there can be a winner. I'd sure love to have a Pokémon with top-notch speed. Whaddya say?" |

Growlithe's face lights up instantly at the suggestion of another race and the possibility of joining the ranks of your team, and thus he gives a few happy barks from his position higher up upon the mountain. Tepig, on the other hand, seems to be a Pokémon of a less forgiving nature as he casts a warning glare at the other Fire-type before returning his attention to you. Once more the little piglet snorts and sends small embers into the air as he starts showing all the signs of a Pokémon to start a battle whether his opponent was ready with a Pokémon or not. "Tepig, Tep!" "Growl-Growlithe!" Surprisingly enough, the little canine bounded down the rocky slope and took up a position before you just as if he were already one of your own. After giving the opposing Fire-type a little growl, Growlithe turned expectingly towards you with hopes for a command of some sort. It didn't really seem like you had much of a choice at this point, though if you were unsure of this wild Pokemon's moveset it could prove handy to check your Pokédex. |
