What is the WiFi League?

The WiFi League is intended to challenge players to become competent in a large range of very different metagames, and to build on their abilities as a trainer as they do so. Each gym is based on a different metagame rather than the common type-based OU leagues. This gives vastly more variety in the challenges, and makes each game more fair since the leader and the challenger are playing by the same rules. The league is currently run by Shining Raikou.

There are sixteen total gyms. Challengers must defeat at least twelve leaders in order to challenge the Elite Four. There is no specific order that the gyms must be challenged in. If a challenger loses to a gym, they may not re-challenge that gym for a week. They may still challenge other gyms during this period. Once a challenger has obtained twelve badges, they may register to challenge the Elite Four. Each Elite Four member specializes in their own specific metagame(s), they will each have their own unique ruleset which may be very different from any standard one. A challenger must defeat all four Elite Four members (in any order) in order to become champion, if you fail in any one of those challenges, you must start from again. If you lose to any Elite Four member, you have to wait a week before attempting to challenge them again. However, you have to challenge every Elite Four member at least once before you can challenge the same one twice.

If a challenger succeeds in defeating the Elite Four, they become the Champion and their name is recorded in the Hall of Fame. They are then given the option of becoming the Acting Champion, who is responsible for taking the place of any Gym Leader or Elite Four member who wishes to challenge the league, and must battle any other player who defeats the Elite Four for the title of Champion.

Any attempt to falsify results of matches, use of team knowledge to gain an advantage over a member of the league staff, or participation in other disruptive behavior will result in your expulsion from the league.

New Rule: From now on, the WiFi League will only be accepting challenges from people whom actually have an account here. This is so that we can keep records of all the challengers a lot easier. Thank you for understanding.

If you have any questions ask away!
