I only just realised that goldenrods music is a slowed down version of the bike theme
That would explain why I like them both XDJust beat Whitney, had a gander around goldenrod, they aren't selling everstones :/ I'm now headed back to new bark on the bike to show the egg to prof birch as I completely forgot to After that I'll head on to wherever is next, Euckratik was it? Just realised I can take out sudowoodoo now, so I'll use that shortcut and save me from going back through union cave. |

Doesn't someone give you one? Possibly a proffesor's aid if they had them in GSC. I can't remember. |

Everstone is for 2nd place in the bug catching contest or you get one for showing elm togepi i think. Quick claw makes your pokemon go first SOME of the time and can be found in national park. Poliwag shouldnt need it though as it has like base 90 speed, which is plenty fast enough. hoppips base 50 leaves something to be desired sometimes though. im in Olivine city, but didnt do any gyms yesterday cos i had work to do. same today probably. tomorrow i can probably afford to do the next 2 though. |

Just entered Olivine, got the 4th badge earlier. Harrison is at level 39 now, I was hoping to be level 50 before the 6th gym but I can't see it being likely XD Ah well, I did get the everstone from showing Elm togepi. A good job I did go back XD Saves me from having to keep pressing B. My rival is killing me, I seemed to choose totodile so he has a bayleef and it murders my poor polywag. |

tbf, he originally intended to use togepi. But that was dumb cos it has nothing to hit ghosts or steel types with so he changed. Gonna overtake me soon. perhaps i should do some gyms tonight

Yeah Polywag was a stupid choice after choosing totodile XD It never really occurred to me, and once I'd started there was no point in stopping. It'll be a challenge Once I get an ice move in it should be easy. |

I think i may have ago at this
I just need to choose a pokemon to do this with now Any suggestions? |
![]() Looks like im - Poison-types tend to be pessimistic, but always within the boundaries of common sense. They can both be good with words and physical abilities. | |

i knwo someone whos done it with a spinarak. the key to choosing is to make sure you can always defeat a pokemon. if you cant deal with rock, steel or ghost like togepi couldnt, you have a problem. Poliwag gets perfect coverage in GSC with water + normal, and hoppip has leech seed to whittle them down with. Spinarak used night shade when necessary. Ledyba would be a bad idea for that vety reason, although it can possibly learn the elemental punches. If it can, that sounds a bit easy to me. also, its pretty important you can find the pokemon near the start of the game too. before the first gym (or shortly after) is best. pokemon i can think of around there: pidgey, hoothoot, sentret, rattata, weedle, caterpie, ledyba, spinarak, bellsprout, poliwag, hoppip, geodude, onix, spearow, wooper, mareep, gastly. hoothoot could be fun. it can cover most of its own problems thanks to hypnosis and foresight. Steel types are an issue though, not sure what you'd do about them. I wouldnt use gastly (hes too good!). |

ARGH I completely forgot how rubbish GBC's were for battery life I played from team rockets base, up until around Blackthorn city, it was a good hours worth of playing and about 5 levels, and one badge. Now I have to redo it all, but first I must find some batteries or my GBASP cable :/ EDIT: beat the elite 4 this morning, currently on the SS Aqua to get to vermillion
