Norman Dearden of Unsworth South passed away at Oak Lodge in Prestwich on Friday morning following a long battle against illness, aged 71.

Having known Norman since I was a lad watching Prestwich Heys on Grimshaws at the end of the 70s, I was saddened to read the news on the Prestwich Heys website (for full article, click here. He's been a great servant to Unsworth South and a real gent whenever I've encountered him in league and cup. Goodnight Norman and God bless.

Condolences from Whitefield Cons. Didnt know him that well but the times I saw him he was always pleasant. Sad when someone who was willing and helpful leaves us. I'm sure he will be sadly missed.
