I was sorry to hear last night at Unsworth that Billy McCarthy had passed away. I've known Billy for a long time since the old Pool days and can only say that he was a genuine & generous man. With his style on the table you wouldnt think that he could pot a ball. He did lack in break building and positioning but I dont think I've seen a better one ball potter. He was amazing and he really enjoyed his game too.
R.I.P. Billy.

Having seen on the forum in past weeks its sad to see some of the older and former members of the league passing away, im only new to this league having played for the lib's for only 3 years i dont know the people, but it does seem to be a tight nit group.

Maybe a larger turn out an show of respect for these players at the presentation night is called for?

Your right about the turnout at the presentation night.

A lot of players have been in this league for many many years and still turnout at the presentation nights. The attendances at the presentation nights have dwindled massively. Whilst only being in this league for around 14 or 15 years, we used to fill HPSC and some !!

It would be good to know from all the players why they think the attendance is poor and has been for last 6 or 7 years??

Does the league need some kind of re-vamp?? , new players being scouted into the league ?? any suggestions

Joe

think it might be due to there only being a few clubs in the honours at the end of the season. thats why its good that over clubs are doing he team knockouts, doubles an other individual comps.

At the end of the day its a piss up with the lads you play snooker with and against!!!!
