the guy from crumpsall has a good point...what a waste of time this trophy is.... many of us prefer snooker to billiards but only have the butterworth to go at...let everyone play in the jr off handicaps and there will be more snooker interest

It used to be open to everyone!
In fact Norman Hewson won both Butterworth & JR Taylor 2 years in a row. I think thats why they closed it again to minus handicappers.
Cant see anyone do that again though. Even Kevin!! ;)

Look at it a different way.... how many of your usual J.R Taylor players would put their name down for the butterworth?? against how many usual butterworth players would enter the JR?. Maybe scrap one in favour of having 2 new knockouts, a handicapped and a scratch knockout (both open to everyone) , alike the handicapped and scratch billiards.

What's the JR & Butterworth if they're not handicapped & scratch :( You dont have to rename them just open them to everyone!
Have you had your pint of lager tonight Joe? :D

My point sir magnum was..
The scratch billiards and handicap billiards is open to EVERYONE regardless of handicap, where the JR is open to Scratch and above.

Soooo.. if you would like me to say this slower.....

OPEN UP THE BOTH OF THE SNOOKER COMPS TO ALLLLLLLL HANDICAPS, BUT MAKE ONE A SCRATCH AND ANOTHER ONE OFF HANDICAP..

I have had my pint of lager.... but what about your medication old boy...
