As far as I know, he doesn't have a committee to help him, but there are delegates' meeting. Dave is League Secretary, Match Secretary and Treasurer; jobs spread across three different people in the bowling league. Maybe a volunteer from each club can receive emails from DD with the fxtures/tables on and they can print them for their own club? Would certainly cut down on league expenses. |

FIXTURES dave darl has now seen our new proposed fixtures he now says they are worth printing off i get the impression we may now move forward someway he said will print them for monday PRESTWICH CONS are having meeting tue night SOME MEMBERS ARE CONSIDERING JOINING THE MANCHESTER LEAGUE which is purely snooker on a thurs i think the production of improved fixtures might sway the balance back in favour of staying in the prestwich league personally i can go with the majority becaus i think that the time for doing things has now arrived there have been too many lets do it next year ...enough is enough |

Good. All Dave needs to do is get the results cards sent to you and you can become Match Secretary, leaving DD as League Secretary and Treasurer. Go Wrighty, go Wrighty!!!! |

Hurricane What can I say, please pull your head out from up your arse and leave the wig there whilst doing it. If you really were so passionate about the league in the first place we wouldn't be having the problems that we are. Club members are a special breed and follow what the majority want and in turn that "enthusiasm permeates through a team and then the league". your comments are at best negative and ultimately ignorant, Whilst tradition may not be high on your agenda, people do still like to play billiards, indeed your club were the first to find extra fixtures outside our league. (Do you speak for all at Prestwich or are you the lone voice?) And to cap it all I can't see you putting in the effort that DD has over the last ?? years to rune the league and keep it going! :ph43r: |

it`s not that we don`t appreciate what mr.d has done over the years, but things have moved on,and people are crying out for changes.we are only doing this for the sake of the league not for the goodness of our health.....hurricane has put things to d/d and he doesn`t want to listen. so i rest my case "mr invincible".

Not at all. DD's called a meeting for next week with fixture revisions. What you need to bear in mind, though, is two things. Firstly, this has been done outside of the proper channels of league changes. Secondly, Dave Wright was at the same meeting that myself and someone from every club bar Whitefield was at (yes, they were invited). He had his chance to have his say then and was fairly quiet. Yes, no doubt the league could be run better, or at least the fixtures and results side of things. However, DD isn't particularly tech-savvy and results don't appear every week. But, that's partly to do with the way clubs are run. There's no punishment for late cards, so it could be weeks before DD sees some cards and relies on word of mouth for league table updates. That souldn't happen - every card should be with DD by the following Tuesday and he can then spend an hour between then and Thursday updating the tables. This would also mean that by the following week, he could email the latest results and tables to the Guide and Bury Times and we could have regular reports in there then. So, I'd encourage someone from every team or club to co-ordinate results and get them posted. If they want a website built to collect them, then fine, I'll see what I can come up with. |

why don`t clubs be warned before the season starts that all match cards have to be with mr d. or whoever by the following tuesday otherwise there will be a points deduction .`NO EXCUSES` that gives every team five days.cup results to be phoned to the appropiate person by winning team captains.individuals phone themself. points deduction is 5 points. there you go easy !

Or you have a 3 strike rule where after the third cock up (billiards and snooker combined) two points are deducted from the home team's league total for every subsequent event. It would certainly give an incentive for the teams to get the cards in (either to the Stute or DD himself) and give Dave a chance of turning results and tables round quicker and more accurately. See, a bit of proactive thinking around the edges and everyone starts looking positive. HPSC with two teams in both, whatever next?!?! |

don`t agree with the three strike rule..i think if your firm enough from the beginning then there are no excuses...as long as it is stipulated no one gets any chances ,then rules are rules and no arguments ! ! |

I won't be there next week, but Baz will be. If you want an improved website that DD can upload data to and that others can fill results in on, then shout up. I'll crack on with something after my holiday and get it up and running properly once the bowling season has finished. |
