I was at the meeting, and as well as Crumpall leaving the league, I BELIEVE presttwich cons have also left the league (maybe Davey Wright can confirm this)

Fixtures are being looked again in light of the Prestwich Cons situation, the handicaps are also out..

So, for what reason have Prestwich Cons dropped out?
Not enough interest in billiards?

hi mark hope you had a nice holiday...sorry its bad news on your return...yes we had our meeting a couple of weeks ago in pres cons...by coincidence crumpsall brian told bloke from nmleague our meeting...

our snooker lads most of whom only signed up last season refuse point blank to play billiards so we have been struggling to put out any billiards teams..the vote was unanimous 24-0 to go in a snooker league...
i am bit sad to go after 30 years but at least we are keeping our club members happy
and to be fair to d/d he was looking at fresh fixtures for us but we had to decide there and then because the nm league were doing fixture printing on fri

our 4 billiard players still in bury league on a tues also have complete freedom not to have to play team knockouts same nite
basically its been coming for a while..our snooker lads were asking all last year if we could go in another league and we cant afford to lose any more of them

So, that leaves

Prestwich Libs
Church Institute
Heaton Park SC
Whitefield Cons
Unsworth South
Carlton Club

For the team knockout cups, I'd suggest a round robin format - 4 groups of three, play the other two teams in the group and the team of the three with the highest aggregate qualifies for the semi finals. Just a thought, but it's probably too late now.

Off down to HPSC tonight, so I'll see where we're up to.
Shame that Cons aren't in, decent tables to play on.

Tables running nicely at HPSC last night, but nobody else from the team in. Apparently we've got "at least 16" signed up for snooker so we should see the season through with two sides.

A few yards past to the traffic lights and turn right into car park at Total Fitness.
