Okay, so I finished updating most of the information we already had (mostly just copy/paste). Can you guys check to see if the descriptions and such are still up-to-date, please? I didn't fill in the Kalani description because I feel it has changed significantly from what we had originally. I'm not sure what we decided on, so I figured we should discuss it in more detail. For Reference Also, I didn't notice a Aquila Laggar subspecies in our notes, so Legatus, what did you have in mind? Also, we need an animal describing the Lyra Laggars. On Wikipedia, it states that the constellation Lyra had connections with vultures and eagles, but I don't feel that either really fit the description of the Laggar subspecies. Alternatively, do we even need animals describing the subspecies in general? |

Thanks. The info needs to be rewritten eventually anyway, so no worries about that. Yeah, the Aquila are a new clan I just came up with, so there's no info for them yet. I will fill in the void soon. As for the Lyra, they got that name because they're artistic. They don't necessarily need the name of an animal. EDIT: Actually, I just remembered why I gave the Lyra clan that name; lyrebirds. Kalani are now going to be a more diverse race than we had originally discussed. Most notably, it was because we merged the ideas for Deep Ones and Kalani into one. Makes the race more diverse, and thus gives the ocean only one major race. Not too sure about the specifics, but the Kalani (as I envision) will generally be like humans in the ocean with slightly more bestial/aggressive mentalities and ways of doing things (leader by strength, generally more violent, etc.) So not as 'barbaric' as beastmen, but not quite as 'refined' as humans are (or so they may make themselves out to be). Just generally speaking. Obviously those that are the 'Deep Ones' are going to be sort of like clan elders. Speaking of which, Council of the Deep is way too catchy a title to pass up on naming the leaders of Kalani Tribe, which would be determined by Strength and have an elder as a figurehead. Just my thoughts, we should definitely work on fleshing out the Kalani society though so we know what exactly to expect. We've talked a lot about Laggars and humans are straightforward so my thoughts are next shifting to Kalani, at least for now. Your guys' thoughts? |

Are we still going with parasites as the cause/creation of this species? If so, then it would probably make sense that they retained a humanoid form and gradually lose that humanity as they evolve (deteriorate?). |

Despite what Pokemon teaches you, individuals don't evolve. The word here is metamorphosis. Pedantry aside, since Laggars have so many variations, we should split the Kalani into smaller groups, as well. I originally envisioned most of the Kalani as nearly mindless slaves to their overlords. That kind of council could fit the free Kalani, though. Are there other suggestions than the parasites? |

I was thinking and, do we even need an explanation as to why the Kalani exist? I mean, they could easily just be sentient beings that live on the same continent like the Laggars or humans. |

We don't necessarily need an explanation. As long as they don't look like humans with some aquatic features, I'm fine with them being a natural race. |

I feel like that would be the best thing to do, then. Does anybody have any objections? |

None here. One race of crazy mages is enough, as they say. |
