Too bad. We can't leave Zuul alone. Instead, we use her to our favor. If Zuul gets seething hatred for the crime of being of Water and Fire blood, we can play against Aang's "All life is sacred" philosophy to make them look bad.

We can turn this into an asset, worst comes to worse. We look better so long as we aren't the one initiating hostilities.
Zuul is unpleasant, rude and violent and comes from a background Aang will find very problematic (it'll bring up things we don't want to discuss if we want to stop him thinking Fire Nation is evil). She will NOT be an asset in any meeting with Aang, she will be a liability.

[X] Go to the NAT.

Kind of want to get out of a palace, already.

On a side note, now that Joo Dee has air and water, perhaps we should attempt to reintroduce fire again with the Voice of Command. Last time, she went into a rage, but I think that was because she lacked other elements to counter balance the fire. Now she has air and water both, so it should only add to her. With no inner fire, I imagine she is going to lack passion unless we manage to spark it and keep it going.

So Chibi, Toph having lightning in her for some long, wound up boosting her even further. Has her inner mountain change noticeably from the first time Azula looked?

Chi is used for bending but is not quite the same thing as one's inner [stuff], and is drastically different from one's aura.

'Zat help?

Inner stuff is usually related somewhat to bending. Strong heritage or talent will skew things one way or another, sort of. But having an inner... say, fire, doesn't make you a talented firebender outright.

By the way, what does our inner stuff(?) look like? If we're allowed to know that.

Larekko: Aang has his reasons. He's still a 12 year old with volatile emotions in control of more power than the average army and the attention span of a fruit fly. Who has shown no desire to learn how to rein that power in. I like the kid, but he is DAMN dangerous.

[X] Don't make Ty Lee look at what is presumably the ravaged wreck of Joo Dee's aura.
[X] If Ozai and Iroh don't need us for a bit, I'd be amenable to taking a trip in the Butterfly to the Northern Air Temple, just to make sure Aang doesn't mess up the Mechanist. That guy seems to be one of the cleverest R&D guys we have.
-[X] Do part the Butterfly out of range and fly in, though. Aang might ALSO be set off by airships.

Huh, with our fire- and airbending, Katara's waterbending and Toph's earthbending, we could possible fully restore Joo Dee. As a human, though. Her personality and memories are probably all gone. Most likely, she'll be able to learn to be a new person again, with no conditioning, but the old her is gone.

Well yes he's dangerous.

He's also shown a desrie to learn to reign that end by mourning, performing funeral rights walking the earth on a journey of self discovery, seeing the world for what it is and what he really needs to do, and learning water bending.

He does have an attention span greater than that of a fruit fly too. I mean really it should be considered a miracle of his calm temperament that he's not going in and out of the state at the drop of a hat. I mean many grown men could not deal with this so well.

Ya know going penguin sledding to dstress from the awareness of the death of everything you've ever known and what might as well been a hundred year prison sentence instead of practicing cutting yourself, throwing repeated mega tantrums, getting drunk and high, or drowning your sorrows in poo nanny is the height of responsibility. Seeing as the rest of that stuff would be what most adults would do and not be looked on too hard.

I can see Azula attempt to give parental advice to Rin, along the lines of "This is what my mother did, so be sure not to that" or something similar.

Keep the egg safe, bring dead animals in once they hatch, the young usually leave once they've got the hang of moving on their own and breathing fire. Squirrel rabbits are plentiful, until they start to get big.

Azula: "Do, do babies like meat? I like meat. And grilled fish. I like tea. I should... do babies drink tea? Help me!"

I was just rereading the story thread and had a thought. I wonder if the old man creature that told us about the chains of destiny was even a dragon at all. He could have just as easily been one of the creatures in the water tribe ancestory. We know that our voice of command isn't actually firebending now, seeing as we are channeling chi and using it to cause air. So maybe it is actually elementally neutral and just the way of speaking for all of the greater elemental creatures.

Azula parenting sounds hilarious.

"What's wrong with her? She's nine months old now and she doesn't even look at the sun! I put her right next to the fireplace, and she tries to move away! I've left her in the courtyard all alone for hours, but all she does is cry! Zuko, how are we going to fix our daughter?!"

Energy bending that can be expressed with elemental natures seems likely to me.

One more reason to look into VoC - by looking into it through Air perspective we may get a breakthrough.

And I still want to meditate on it. Perhaps sit somewhere safe (a deserted island), shut out all external distraction and speak to yourself "I am Azula, daughter of Ozai, son of Azulon, son of Sozin, descendant of Roku the Avatar, heir of the Fire Nation, favored of Raijin held strongly by Agni" with potential addition of "kin of dragons" in VoC and listen to what you are saying. To reaffirm and clarify our identity. We may get something out of it.

I'm pretty sure Azula is going to read up on and quite possibly interrogate others about raising kids way before she has hers. It's the only way to make sure she doesn't act like Ursa. The fact that her mother abandoned her for being unnatural is also going to make her a very accepting parent, as well, since there's no way she'd stop (pretending to?) caring for her kids if they aren't what she expected. At least, I hope so.

Also given that her child may be an air bender or fire bender or air/fire mix or "neither' or a dragon and her third child is going to be an inhuman eldrich monstrosity clad in human shell, yes, she'll have to be very accepting of "strange" behavior and would know it beforehand.

I think, she'd be okay with that, heh.

Might cause some succession woes, though, seeing as she'll be able to talk to it(?) and knows dragons are intelligent creatures. Well, that is unless there's some rule somewhere that says dragons can't be Fire Lord.

Airbending tips, and it has been several months since we last spoke with him so it'd probably be a good idea to find out if he's going to be participating in the war soon or just his general opinion of how the world is.
