Red Dead Legends - Forum Rules & Guidelines Welcome to Red Dead Legends. ![]() This is a fan-site for those who like to write and those who have fallen in love with the Red Dead Redemption setting. We are trying to keep a relaxing atmosphere around here, but there are some rules that we ask our members to abide by in order to keep the peace. The rules themselves aren't difficult to follow and are fairly straightforward. Please note that staff have the final say in matters regarding the rules so if you are warned, please don't argue semantics with us. We (the staff) are fair people and we tend to discuss matters before we take any action. We are also human and thus, sometimes we make mistakes. We are willing to rectify things if there is a logical reason to why, so keep that in mind if you decide to make an appeal via PM or through the Staff Dropbox. 1. You must remain active on this game. This is going to (hopefully) be a fairly active role playing game but it can easily fall under if players aren't active. If you have to take a leave of absence for whatever reason then please let us know so we can save your character for your return. If you remain inactive for one month, and do not tell anyone where you are, we will presume that you have left the game and place your character in the 'inactive' member group. 2. Your user name should be your character's first and last name. This makes it easier for us to recognise characters who have posted. Anyone who registers with frivolous user names such as 'mkfan1986' or 'iluvbunnies' will have their user name changed to their character name. 3. Use common sense. Basically, if it seems like a stupid idea then don't do it. If you are not sure about something then ask a member of staff before you go ahead just to make sure. Following this guidelines is a good way not to get into any trouble. 4. Don't be a Jackass towards other members. This site has a very low-tolerance for Jackassery. It is not acceptable for you to intentionally anger a member through any means. This includes name-calling and swearing directed at another member. If you have a problem with a member and can't sort it out, then ignore them. Plain and simple. 5. When roleplaying, keep to the setting. The year is 1900. This means no cars, no sky-tv, no rocket-launchers or motorbikes. This is the Wild West, so make sure you keep to the setting and avoid embarrassing mistakes. 6. Do not cheat in the game. There are three ways you can cheat. You can god-mode, which is where you play your character as an unbeatable and invincible being. You can power-play, which is where you control other characters actions. Or you can meta-game, which means you use information that you have not gained previously. Do not do any of the above otherwise you could face a serious warning and possible ban if it continues. 7. Thou shalt not murder other characters. You can't kill another character off without the express permission of their owner. Also, please note that, your character can't simply turn up and wantonly murder everyone in each town in a blaze of bullets and gunpowder. It doesn't work like that, they'll almost certainly be killed by everyone within seconds. If you want to play as a murderer then that's fine, but be realistic (for lack of a better word) about it. 8. Write in legible English and use proper grammar in your sentences. We can not reply to what we can't read. If your post is illegible because of bad grammar or terrible spelling then it'll probably get ignored. 9. You can make up to three characters without approval. Once you make three characters and you want more, you'll need to PM and admin and ask them if it's possible to make a new character. This is because we don't want people repeatedly making new accounts and then abandoning them at the drop of a hat. Generally, we would want to see characters being kept active and not simply abandoned after one or two topics. If you do want to retire a character then make an admin request so we can move your character into the right group.
