Can someone clarify the medical treatment of haemorrhagic stroke? I've had a look at the NICE guidelines but they seem unclear. I heard at Queen Square that tranexamic acid can be used but this isn't listed as one of its uses in the BNF. Thanks.

Tranexamic acid isn't yet licensed to treat stroke but there is research looking into using it and it may become the drug of choice in the future. There's a good Clinical Knowledge Summary of management here and UpToDate has a good summary here. |
