In its relentless pursuit of the Sparta, the crew of Praesidium has learned of the Sparta's investigations into the rebirth of the Scion, and has now offered to accompany them in their journey. But across the galaxy, a massive war between countless factions has broken out, and rumours are spreading that the Maw has reawoken. Now confronted with a larger threat than any incursion from Andromeda, the crew must seek out the Galaxy's brightest minds for a way to destroy the Maw, the Executioner of Progress.

Meanwhile, Scion ships have been entering through the Hideaki rift and attempting to collect Scion Remnant to return to Citadel. Outraged by an attempt to return them from the collective, and deprive them of self-awareness, the Remnant has banded together and declared war on them. Elsewhere, the Alliance and New Conglomerate- reformed in the Delta Quadrant- have become allies in fear of unknown powers watching from Andromeda, as well as strange godlike beings appearing to various races and acting as guardians and advisers to them.

Along the rim of the Alpha Quadrant, a large and powerful human-founded faction called the Inquisition Syndicate has also made itself known, slowly spreading and conquering unadvanced societies along the overlooked edges of the galaxy. While they seem to be isolationist in nature, they are formidable and quick to aggression. Strange reports of rifts in space and time itself have also been discussed in hushed whispers across the galaxy, portals of raw void energy spoken of in fearful and reverent tones.

CHAPTER ONE: THE ASCENDANCY
SESSION 1

Glekick sat in the corner of the bar, glad to finally be on shore leave. It was hard enough that the people he had been hunting for the past year and a half where now his allies, but now the rumors that where starting to surface where disturbing.

The rumors shuck him down to the very fabric that he had built when he left his home, family, all to find out that being an atheist was possibly a mistake. He did not like it.

So to solve the problem, even if only for a few hours he had found this bar and was just finishing his fifteenth shot. At this point he was probably to drunk to know if they where still actually serving him alcohol. He slowly raised his hand for another.

Working with the enemy, galaxy slipping into war, and signs that the life he had left was coming back to be right. This was bull shit. He shock his head and downed the shot as soon as the waitress delivered it, and through slurred tongue, asked for another.

Harbinger strides in with He'drach, engaged in animated conversation with the bulky alien. They both look up to spot Glickek, and quickly make their way over to him. "Ah! Starkin!" booms He'drach, spreading his arms in greeting. "Have you heard the news?"

Gleckik looks up in a completely drunken state. "Whanews?" His vocal cords oscillating at such different frequencies that it was similar to a drunk man being imitated by another drunk.

He scoots over making room in the corner for the two men joining him, however he has just ordered his twentieth and twenty first shots of absinthe, and the waitress is looking distressed.

Dex sighed slowly as he enters the musky bar. It's been awhile since he's been on true Shore leave- Ever since he lost track of the Sparta's crew a few good missions ago, he roamed as a freelancer, taking odd jobs left and right to fund his pursuit of the Sparta. Now, he hoped he had finally tracked them down.

He looked around curtly, scanning the bar with the quick-draw precision that had helped him survive for years in odd situations. Nothing. Nobody he recognized. It was unfortunate, almost- He would just have to work harder to pin them down. Perhaps then, he could go rejoin the rest of the crew. He was sure of his information- Of course he was- but a small thread of doubt still remained as he pulled up a seat at the barstools, wiping off the thin layer of grime from the seat-cover.

He raised his hand curtly, staring downwards. "Bartender. Wodka. Put it on tab."

A sizeable glass of 220 Galactic Ultra soon slid his way as his eyesight adjusted to the Bar's low, dusty light. Listening intently, he soon focused on a conversation in the corner of the room.

Perhaps that would lead him back. Wouldn't it? The crew of Sparta had been negligent to talk about the new allegiance with their former hunters, though He'drach seemed to have adapted nicely.

He'drach spreads his hands grandly, speaking in a booming voice. "The Allegiance! The Alliance and Conglomerate, two former enemies, becoming aligned for the benefit of their people! I wonder," he continues, "if perhaps humanity will eventually even become a member of the Conglomerate."

Harbinger sits down while He'drach remains standing to speak.

Dex grumbles to himself slightly as he follows the group out of the bar. 'Prove themselves', Eh...
He figured now wouldn't be the best time to approach the one named 'Scarlet'. Instead, he simply motions to the one he was sitting next to to follow along as he tightens his belt and follows the group.

Downing her glass of wine, Nelly places the payment on the bar and follows the strange man.

Silently, the white cowl of my cloak is flipped up and I follow the rest to whatever ends we may later meet.
