VIRTUE (VIRTUS, TUGEND, VERTU) The False Light; The Wicked King; The Fallen Judge Virtus sought to uphold all that was pure and strike down the foul and corrupt. It was one of the first guardians permitted to directly interfere with the worlds of mortals, for a great war was being waged across all of existence. But when the war was over, Virtus continued to fight. It continued to destroy what it decided was impure, increasing its already-inflated sense of self-righteousness and authority. The Angels saw its descent into insanity and locked it away. There it was kept, chained up for eternity, so that balance could be restored to reality. Reading the book only seemed to raise more questions for Tyr. If it was locked away, how could it have come to create the Cataclysm? Why was Earth the only world it touched? Was Earth the only world it touched? WRATH (IGNIS, BRAND, ENERGUMENE) The Broken Pillar; The Betrayed; The Undying Fire This is an enemy. You know this somehow. This Disciple, as regal as it appeared, was your enemy. Wrath, the Broken Pillar, spoke it through the stone. MORTALITY (MORTALIS, STERBLICHKEIT, MORTALITE) The Stormfront; ...; ... "Mortalis came from the North. We could see it from the belltower- a point of light leading forth a black wall of cloud, flickering with lightning, heading towards us from where Denmark once stood. We could hear it, thunderous, with the roar of the wind. The men of the monastery fled, knowing the massive building would certainly be a target. I stayed with a few other students- we argued that the Guardian would be more interested in reaching Berlin, or somewhere in France, than us. "Oh, but we were wrong. We should have fled with the monks, we could have hid in Eschenholtz. For Mortalis came straight to the monastery. It floated outside of the tower. We stared at it, and it stared at us. Then, with a wave of its hand, we dropped. The earth swallowed us up, just as the rumours had said. The earth reclaiming its land. And now we sit, in total darkness save for what candles we managed to light. We dare not speak, so overcome are we with regret for our foolishness. Who were we to think we ought not run from a Guardian?" Edited by Hjorthorn, Thursday, 12. March 2015, 14:08.
