Hub - Canaan Subdock/Ханаан; So it begins

Canaan wasn't much to look at: a smattering of rocks and metals orbiting a blue-green ball of carbon in the middle of a backwater solar system.
But to anyone who knew the system for what it was, they would know of Canaan's truth; it's reputation and theme. Canaan was a backwater, yes, but it was also the unofficial Capital of the Free Systems; the odd semi-permeable membrane of factions clustered in a small band of stars bordering the long-quiet Orionians, the agressive Inquisition Syndicate, and the Gateway Rift; a series of cold stars and asteroid drop-bases that, if one was lucky- or, perhaps, foolish- enough to do it, would lead them into the Trident Nebula, the last home of Capitalism in Humanity's outer colonies. Cities run across the surface in hodgepodge patterns as vast jungles separate the rest of the world from civilization; and great harbors and buildings of pre-fabricated or scavenged fashion make up the most of the artificial construct built onto the world, like an open scar in the planet's side. Nevertheless, the planet's location- and key position of notoriety as a hub for Crime and Politics alike, including the fabled Governors- The leaders of the various smaller Rebel, Brigand, Post-Colonial, and Pirate factions that make up the Free Systems- and their underground connections make it more then simply another planet to stare at.
In fact, it was one of the most closely-guarded locations in the entire Free Systems. But nobody had to know that.

They called it 'Subdock'; built partially into the ground as a silent place where ships could go by unnoticed.
You called it home.

(THIS IS A FREEPOST AREA, minus the (UPDATE) part. I will intervene when needed. You know the drill.)

The crackling of noise is heard, and the ship's communication system, battered with age and busted with use, sparks back to speaking order as a single transmission is played and repeated in Russian.
"Unknown vessel. Please identify yourselves. This is the Free Systems vessel 'Svela', Designation 0-223-14; affiliated with Colonies United. Lower your defenses and prepare to be boarded for searching, docking information, and documentation. This is a mandatory security verification. Repeat, this is a mandatory security verification. Harm will not come if harm is not given."

"Hide," I hiss. "Let them think this ship is abandoned, we can escape once it is towed planetside. Unless, of course, you want to present ship full of corpses to local authorities. I'm sure that'll win their trust."

"I'm with the reptile." Kuhu says as he sits in the chair. "Everyone else can do what they want, but I've got some questions, and answers aren't provided when you're the pilot of a hearse."

LORD OF THE HORDE
I remain in the car, hard curtains closed to hide my presence. I prepare the registration papers for the car, before taking a short nap.

Awakening after only 5 minutes, I feel relatively calmer. I still hold the papers in my hand, and take off all military equipment to reveal shorts and a polo-shirt. I use the car's radio to communicate with the ship.

"This is HORDE. I have the registration for my vehicle inside the ship, I have not seen any crew since I parked my car on the ship, but I will gladly communicate with you once you are inside."

I stand and walk towards the engineering bay, removing an access panel and squeezing backwards into the maintenance shaft. I replace the panel to the best of my ability and inch backwards to safety.

I stare through the narrow grates, pistol clenched in my hand, as seconds ticked by like hours.

Kuhu takes a moment to consider his options. Horde is going to get himself shot. I think vent guy has the right idea.
Vent guy? Really?
Did I really not know anybody I was associated with?
Kuhu moves towards the floorboards and looks for a smuggling hatch or anything that could be used as a storage compartment.

((Dabs, let's get together to finish planning and writing out 005's faction, soon.))

I scale a nearby wall and press my body flat against some struts and supports, relying on my dark clothing to conceal me against the shadows above the lighting fixtures in the ship. Strongly considering if I should pick up the microphone and use my background and my affiliated system as an excuse, I begin to decide against it. The others onboard this ship may not agree with me and I could not risk revealing any affiliations until I got what I left home for. I draw the long revolver from my hip and dim the lighting on the exterior of my helmet.

Chamm knew danger when she saw it, however after the constant fight for survival on the planet she did not feel very threatened. She conformed to the shape of the Soldier that had slipped into the vents and instead walked straight down the middle. They had not talked at all, but she hoped that they would have the wherewithal to monopolize on a developing fight by using her as bait.

Hopefully this would work, for she did not want to broadcast so soon on planet fall that she was a mage, even if she wasn't very powerful.

I radio the other ship once more from my car.
"Repeat, this is HORDE. I purchased tickets for this ship some time ago, but I have not actually seen the crew since I got aboard. I am in the orange car in the cargo bay. I have my car's papers and my ID all ready."
I wish to get off Mr. Bone's Wild ride.

"I'm going to cry if Horde really leads this group of ragtag--" I stop myself and switch off the vocoder, making my voice nearly silent under the full faced helmet.
