"damn shame," Ash looked at nothing in particular, "I could go for some Barbecue." Ash popped a grin. Ash looked under rocks and fallen logs for bugs and other crawly critters while quietly quoting some obscure movie "its game over man, game over!" Winters got over his curiosity and looked around at his squadron. Who the hell decided to put together this hogepoge group of strangers that hadn't worked together a day in their life he probably would never know. Ash saw the medic visibly tense, he was behind her but he knew that posture anywhere. Fear. While he probably should of been scared himself he really wasn't and out of everything he was bored! Winters grinned again. he walked over to next to the medic "hey, whats eatin ya smalls?" |

As the group looks about the grove and it's many unnatural oddities, you all hear the click of a radio, and a voice you recognize as your commanding officer, Bliss. "Forward scouting team, do you read me? You've been out there a while and we need you back at camp before dark, we have no idea what might be lurking out there. There's a possibility of carnivorous nocturnal animals, and we don't know how cold it'll get after dark. I'll send someone to pick you up if you need it." he says, before the transmission ends with another crackle as he awaits your response- Snap You hear the distinct sound of the crunching of wood in the far distance. Not like a twig, but rather like an entire tree. A moment later, you hear a loud stomp, followed by another, then another, gradually approaching the clearing. Something is coming, and whatever it is, it doesn't sound very small and innocent. |

"Yea, no, I want to go back before whatever that is reaches us." Suea pleads. "We can follow the rope back to the clear path and running back to camp where there are bigger guns will be easier." Despite the fear he expresses in his voice, his eyes were unwavering, searching the forest's distance, and his hands were smooth in adjusting the sights on his gun to closer range. |

"Agreed." Cali slings her rifle and draws her pistol, not bothering to silence it. "Let's haul ass!" She begins a cautious jog alongside the rope, keeping her head low and scanning the area for movement. |

Elizabeth looks at the man who addressed her with nervous eyes. "I... I'm fine, it's just a lot of new stuff you know? I've been in the feild before but this feels different. I thought that-" The sound of large footfalls interrupt her. She grips her gun closer and follows her sergeant, looking back worriedly at winters. She wasn't sure how to handle this situation. |

The medic looked at him with a look he'd seen before. he couldn't put a finger on it but he knew it. "yep those are definitely footsteps. He heard the staff sergeant call a retreat back to base. "Come on smalls we need to move!" Winters shook his head as he jogged "damn shame! I wanted to know what it was, though, I get the feeling we're gonna find out soon enough." Ash definitely wasn't bored anymore partly because his gut wasn't usually wrong. Edited by fleece orange, Monday, 18. April 2016, 16:34.

Jakob and his team arrive through the gate in a three-vehicle convoy. A small white van imprinted with Vinytec Medical's logo used for transit of the administrative personnel, A sizeable truck containing a mobile basic lab and a full-on flatbed carrying additional equipment to be set up at base. As the science team starts unpacking and setting up the general equipment, Jakob steps out of the van's passenger seat, adjusting his mask's filter and making sure there is no exposed skin between his gloves and cuffs. He proceeds to the nearest soldier, clearing his throat, "Jakob Steele, I am with Vinytec. Is our escort ready?" |

Kaisa tears through the trees when Slick issues the order to retreat, following the rope. She didn't get the feeling the rustling noise wasn't something friendly, and confronting it in such a closed atmosphere would surely be against them. Kaisa was very rarely afraid. Kaisa knew the wild, humans -- they bled red like anything else, could be killed like anything else, but not knowing anything about the Thing behind her made Kaisa pick up her feet faster. |

JAKOB You step out onto the crunchy snow, the cloudy sky above you painted a faint orange. You approach a low-ranking officer. "Vinytec? The pharmaceuticals company?" he asks, before quickly remembering his briefing. "Oh, right, they'll be back shortly. The heavy armor should be bringing them back now." JOEL Shortly after arriving your battalion was ordered by Lieutenant Colonel Bliss to go and retrieve the special operations team from a nearby forested area. You and your men charge across the white valley as the cold wind blasts against your face, and the only audible noises are the rumble of your M1A2 and the crunching of freshly fallen snow beneath your steel treads. You see several figures exit from the treeline. This was probably them. PRAWN You awaken in your limo, Wilbert standing over you, rather concerned. Your manhood has been restored in robotic form. It's time to get back in action! You can't let those SLIMES get to your beautiful opportunities for cash first! OTHERS The snapping of trees and the stomping of some unknown creature continue behind you. You see a group of M1A2's rolling towards you, most likely your pickup. Edited by TheTraveler, Tuesday, 26. "Do you think that armour is going to save us, or did they hear whatever is behind us?" Seua squeaks, his voice cracking a little bit. "I've only dealt with humans, not–" He slips on some dying leaves and nearly falls. His goggles fall to his neck, obscuring his vision temporarily. "Monsters!" |
