A group of people, scattered across London, go about their daily lives, unknowing that soon they would all be embarking on an adventure together.

Erik nods, struggling to speak over the din.
"Ja! Er... Yes!" Erik hastily says.

"Ve meet later- It's too loud here to focus and make arrangements."

Erik quickly hands him a business card, preparing to board his train towards the South end Dockyards. Noticing the other prick citizen bothering him, he turns back, slighly curious.

"Zis man giving you trouble?" Erik asks in slight curiosity as he straightens his cuffs.

"Some amount," I say grumpily. "A young girl signed on wit' us an' he seems to take offence t' that. Not t' mention he claims I, a hard-workin' merchant, would dare t' have ulteri'r motives."

Erik looks at the other man, and looks back.
"I suppose zat remains to be seen." Erik pauses to let out a short sigh. "However, I would advise against trying to hasten hostilities in ze group. Like it or not, Kapitän, he iz stuck wiz you in your crew, and you vill have to learn to get along with him if ve are to be sucsessful."

Smiling wickedly, Erik holds open the side of his overcoat barely enough for Gryff to see. It contains a small assortment of medals for valor and tactical mastery, amongst them a platinum-lined Iron Cross.

"Trust me. I know."

Erik closes and re-clasps his overcoat, nodding his officer's cap as he heads towards his train. "Good day, mein Freund."

I wave goodbye to him, turning back to the kids. "We meet at the ship tomorrow morning. Dock 23, down in Greenwich." I flip over the German's note and scrawl the dock location and time on the back, then jog over and slip it into his hand as he boards his train. I then turn and run to the Docklands train, which was nearly about to leave.

I glance up with a mix of surprise and disappointment as the kids get on. "Don' you two have par'nts to go to?" I ask. Christian recalls his father Thomas, the owner of the Union Royal bank.
