I was thinking today, and I came up with this idea, but it's gonna be really difficult to pull off. I call it a Pseudo Shared Dream Adventure, or PSDA for short. if you're smart, you could probably have figured out what I mean by now, but for the rest of you, I'll explain. What it is, is we have a group of 2-3, maybe 4 people, and we work out a plot. it can be something intricate, or something simple, but it should include the gamers as the main hero characters (or villains, I suppose, but I would prefer heroes for a first play). But, As an example, let's say we have this race of Astral beings who are eating people's dreams to take over the world, and the players are the only ones who can defeat them. We can make specific villain characters and places too. Then, the player tries to Lucid Dream. In the lucid dream, the player goes after the enemy and advances the plot, aided by the uncertain nature of dreams to add unpredicted plot elements. Then, after the dream, the player informs the other players of everything that happened. This way, the other players know what's going on, and we can have continuity between players and keep things organized. So essentially, we each have individual dreams that contribute to a much bigger story. The most important thing here is that the players can execute some power of control over their dreams, or at least getting normal dreams to exhibit the storyline. perhaps we could use intense visualization in the meantime to get things started. it's gonna be hard to pull off, but if we can get it going I think it could be really really fun. Anybody interested in the idea? |

this doesn't require any psychic connection. you physically tell the other players what happened in your dream, that way they know what happened, and can put the progress into their dreams using their control over dreams. |

I like this idea. If any of us could do it, this would be amazingly fun. |

yeah, it could be really cool, and the fact that its in the dream world could make for some really amazing locales and some interesting plots. Should I set up a plot discussion topic to get us started? BTW, If we have more than 4 people, I think maybe we should think about splitting into 2 groups, otherwise it'll get too hard to keep things straight. |
