Name:
Alfred

Appearance:
Thin, hunched old man walking with a cane; unkempt grayish hair, beardless; veiled grey eyes, unkempt hair; scarred stump instead of his left hand.

Occupation:
Lives at Redstone and is given any small domestic task he is able to handle. He currently cooks some simple meals for the residents and guests of Redstone and acts as an unofficial steward.

History: What is this character’s past? Where did they come from?
Until recently, he has been known as a saintly hermit by the residents of Thornbury.

What leads them to Thornbury or Redstone Hill?
His small cabin happened to be where Redstone’s kiln is now built. It is presumed that he has been Golham’s very first captive.

Family & other relationships:
He is Hilda’s brother, which would make him Golham’s uncle by alliance.

Goals:
To finally earn a blissful, painless rest in Heaven.

Likes & dislikes:
The poor, sickly man has few, very simple joys left in life: one of them is to stay warm by a good fire, and another is to enjoy some nice company to chat with.
Alfred dislikes winter; any task that require two hands to be completed hurts a pride he blames himself of still having.

Strengths & weaknesses:
No one is more patient and indulgent as Alfred; he will tell you that his ability to withstand pain is a curse which God seems intent on putting to the test until his last breath.
His poor health is, of course, his most apparent weakness; a less detectable one is his refusal to stand up for his rights: he has no stamina left to fight.

Secrets (they don’t necessarily need to be told, only to be known by their typist): his family ties with Golham and a certain knowledge of his back-story.
