Darryn grinned lightly, catching her and rolling over on to his back.

"Fine, I'll be the queen and then we'll be even."

" Okay."

She purred, giggling as she watched the sand fly about him, looking him over, nuzzling him softly.

Darryn grinned lightly, plucking a clump of seaweed out of her hair. He nipped lightly at her ear, though it wasn't pushy. He would take what he could, but wouldn't push for more. After all, he wasn't like a pimp or something.

Ashleigh laughed and smiled at him, feeling his teeth, and fangs graze her skin, resulting in her eyes glowing lightly.

" Watch it...."

She wasn't telling him to stop, but it could result poorly if she was finally starting to get close to him, and they did something crazy on the first close encounter.

Darryn gave it a gentle kiss, his eyes resting on her face.

"Both eyes wide open." He leaned back slightly, allowing that space. Not a pimp. He was like a prostitute, though - he did just what was asked.

Ashleigh smiled, grateful for his sensitivity to her needs at this point, kissing at his neck, letting her fingers play in the sand.

" This place is odd... and silent."

Darryn turned slightly so that he wasn't so completely pinned. His eyes drifted to the trees behind them.

"Exactly. There is no one here to find you, no one here to rule you."

" I've been on both sides..."

Ashleigh informed him, resting to him.

" Neither is too enjoyable after a while."

Darryn didn't exactly smile at this one. Instead his eyes drifted away.

"Here you don't have to choose."

"I have made a choice already, I chose to be here with you... and you chose to let me come."

Darryn looked down now, a small smile growing. The man hadn't meant that, of course. However...

"A little something now. A little something later."

ashleigh looked to Darryn, suddenly wondering something. Not a surprise, considering....

" This isn't a game?"

The gentle warmth that he had been offering Ashleigh suddenly dissolved. Darryn was actually rather bothered, but he refused to show it. His expression was immediately wiped into a smile as he rolled over tickling Ashleigh.

"Of course it is!"

Ashleigh was stricken as his hands came towards her, and she deflected them instantly, eyes locking with him. For once the hurt was written over her face, as plain as the sand about them.

" ... Thank you for being honest."

Carefully she sat up, dusting off her dress, trying not to look at him now as she swallowed back her tears. This is why she hadn't tried to get close since then....

Darryn suddenly sat back, watching her. He did understand. She had been the one to cast a verbal blow on him. She was the one that had assumed he could never be serious, could never have been sincere and earnest. Everything was a game. He turned his head away as he stood up, dusting off the sand, and cursing mentally to himself. How did that work?
