" That means i'd find an anchor rope, and pray the boat can ride out what they are brewing." |

Kai's eyes widened and he looked around wildly. "Why?!" Not a 'why should I do that?' but a 'why is this happening to me?!'. |

Ajora sighed, tossing him the anchor rope and hoping he was smart enough to ensure he was properly attached, feeling the boat already starting to heave. This was going to be fun. |

Kai wound the rope around his waist twice, tying a knot. The man stumbled slightly before managing to attach himself to the boat. Hopefully they wouldn't sink, or else being tied to the boat would be a bummer. |

The waves tossed them about as if they were driftwood, the entire crew soaked, whether on deck or not, but thankfully the boat was still afloat, at the moment. however it was too noisy to hear anyone else on the ship. |

Kai was scrambling, trying to maintain his footing when suddenly it felt like the air was sucked out of him. Oh, this wasn't going to be good - that was never a good start. A spike of cold shot all the way up his spine, settling into his temples and his pupils contracted as he suddenly couldn't see the raging ocean even as it sprayed into his face. The rope securing the cargo up on the level above was fraying. He could see with impossible clarity as each strand snapped against the strain. The stay sail flapped suddenly in a rush of wind, and he could hear the crewmen cry out as it jerked at their hands - the last one to be brought down. At that same time, the rope snapped. There was a woman. He had seen her before. Her words rang in Kai's ears like thunder as she argued with her fiancee, flinging open the door in tears of desperation as she rushed out onto the deck at exactly the wrong moment. And down down down came the crate. The blow was more than enough to daze her, and she slid across the wildly pitching planks of the floor, ramming into the railing, unable to stop herself from flipping overboard. He could feel her panic, her pain. Water was a terrible way to die. Kai blinked rapidly as his normal vision returned, gasping in air as though he had been deprived of it. He gritted his teeth. There was no way he could help, right? After all, if he were not where he was, there was no guarantee of his own life. But, even as he thought it, he knew that he couldn't. His stupid conscience was already twisting his stomach into knots. So, as his attention was drawn to the sudden jerk of the stay sail, Kai yanked free the rope about him. The man was half thrown across the deck as the sudden bob of the ship. In a rush of motion and sound to fast for him to really comprehend, he found himself clinging with one hand to the woman's arm as she scrabbled to hold his arm - and with the other hand he clung to the slippery railing, using every ounce of strength he could muster not to lose them both. |

Ajora was doing good to keep the craft it's self upright in the waters, let alone anything else, watching kai hit the rail, cursing a million words as she watched the body disappear from sight. She'd warned him. Unfortunately, she had other lives in her hands, and she didn't harm innocents, and a good majority of those remaining were innocent, and she was going to try and keep them safe. |

Kai was coughing and spluttering, gasping as wave after wave slammed over him and the young woman. Her fiancee was paralyzed with fear, but perhaps that was good. He was safe inside the ship. Kai meanwhile was slipping. He grimaced at the woman dug her nails into his arm. "You've got to..." Water rushed into his mouth and nose, cutting him off. After several similar attempts, eventually the panicking woman got the message. Malykai wanted her to grab on to some other part of him so that he could have both arms to hold to the boat, which was a good idea. The problem was the execution. It was after what seemed forever that she managed to get a hold on him, one arm under his left and the other thrown over his should and linked together. Kai was trying not to panic. So was she. But he couldn't pull them back up on the boat. He wasn't strong enough, especially with the raging waters. All he could do was hold on for dear life, and he didn't know how long he could manage that. Thus, they were both failing at the not-panic thing. |

Just as suddenly as the waters had roared up, they disappeared and there were shells, sand, and wood bits all over the boat, not to mention odd gold coins and a few fish... but more importantly, it appeared Ajora had only lost four crew members, unfortunately, that included an innocent woman, and Ka- Ajora's thoughts stopped as she spotted a slipping pair of hands on the rail, rushing over, as best as the debris would allow, soon lifting both people up onto the ship's deck. |

Kai splayed across the planks hopelessly. His green eyes were opened far too wide and his brown hair was plastered to his head as his chest heaved for air. He coughed, spitting out water. He hurt everywhere and his arms were burning, but he didn't know if that was from muscle strain or the saltwater in the bleeding claw marks on his left forearm. Still the man looked over at the tall woman that had been pulled from the water as well. Apparently she had reached the end of her strength and had fainted. Malykai gasped desperately, squeezing out a few words. "Is... she... okay?" |

" fine, just in shock and needs a few days rest." Ajora purred faintly, already having a few from bellow tend to her and take her to rest, kneeling beside kai. " You?" |

Malykai blinked stupidly, not quite understanding at first. Slowly, though, the magnitude of the whole thing hit him. He didn't say anything at first, lifting a hand and placing it on his own chest as though to make sure he was really there. "I'm... alive?" His eyes turned to Ajora, searching for confirmation. |

" Of course." Ajora replied, not liking the question as she reached over and placed a hand upon his forehead, finding no fever having to shown it's self, perhaps it was the sea water speaking. |

Kai slowly sat up, groaning at the ache that it brought. "Oh yeah. I'm alive. My life sucks. Ow..." He lifted his left arm and immediately dropped it back into his lap, making faces at the four claw marks and giving a rather pathetic whine. "Owwwwww... It buuuuuuuuuurns..." Okay, so Kai was a little bit of a sissy. |
