I like the idea of best lap times on Mario Kart, i think it would work well, maybe select say 3 tracks and add up total time for all 3? |

Mean Machines and their spin off mags always seemed to be finding the "best game ever" in most issues lol, a bit quick off the mark methinks.... I recall Mario Kart being one along with Sonic 1 and Mario 3 |

Updated. In case you missed it, opa, tk421 has already chosen Rygar. No problem to keep your choice of course, just depends how much you want it to get chosen

On the level
|
*Eagerly awaiting the start of the league* Can't we start now at 2am? Edit: Regarding Mario Kart, we could always have it set as a series of say, 5 courses we have to all race through with a screenshot at the end of each course, ranging from easy basic course to full-on Rainbow Road extravaganza, then the times are basically added up. To be in the league, you MUST finish all the set courses, and failure to complete a course or upload proof of completion of one course should award you with a time equal to or slower than the slowest time so far. To be honest, thinking about it, we should really just give this a test run before submitting it properly. If anyone is interested, I can set up a small Mario Kart time-trial league on here if this is deemed unsuitable for the league? |

This is basically how Buggy Boy worked. As far as I remember, you started on the 'North' track, then once you had completed it and ONLY after this, you were able to progress to the next course. At the end, all scores were added up and points given as per usual. However, we didn't make it mandatory to complete every course, as it was bloody hard enough to learn and complete the first few within a week. I did suggest a test a few pages back, but nobody has done one yet

If you can't get the feature working, you can always use Print Screen, paste into paint, crop the grab down and save. |

Added to the list in the first post. I never quite got to grips with Hyper Sports when we played that, wonder if Track & Field is any easier? Midnight Resistance is a good game, but I'm not sure it controls that well in MAME - the arcade cab had a rotary stick that could be twisted to aim the direction of fire without being linked to direction of movement. Anyone care to give it a go to see how it holds up? |

I loved MR on the Amiga, but I can't play it in MAME. I've tried a few times, but without the rotary stick, it needs two people to control it. Of course, if we played the Amiga version it would be perfect. I think this was suggested not long ago (possibly in this thread), and I think I said the same thing then. |

I allready have done. Its totaly unplayable useing keyboard. And I carnt see it being any better tham the MD version using a pad ( which is bad). Its a pity because its a very, very good game. |

Im a bit dissapointed as Midnight Resistance is a great game. As i've said to ant, the game works really well by using the L and R buttons on a joypad to rotate your weapon. It doesnt make it any more difficult than what it was on the arcade cab. You guys that like it should try it out. But prob not good for people who only use keyboard. MMmmm, my new nomination is: Street Fighter Alpha 3 (US 980904) - MAME |

alright pit-fighter was a really hurried decision, F - Zero -- I would happily nominate a track for fastest overall time. Or just fastest lap or a specific course. Shouldn't be too difficult? I'll change pit fighter out then: Pit Fighter - OUT Fatal Fury - IN Better??? |

Anyobe ever played X-Multiply before? Just tried it and it's excellent, r-type with a difference, kinda. Can I also point out that shuffleboard on MAME is strangely addictive. Yeah I was thinking the same about F Zero, i'd love to play it but don't see it happening. Tempted to change my Zookeeper nomination but not sure. |

Just tried X-Multiply and its great (If my two games hadn't already been played I might have swapped one for that). Can't manage to shoot my puck in Shuffleboard though??? On Topic - I think we need some racing games in here, don't know FZero well enough to know if that one would work though. |

Shufleboard you pull back and push forward to set the puck off. Somehow it's mapped to my left analogues stick on my PS2 controller so it kinda suits it. 2 games played already, lucky you. I've never had a game come up yet, my day will come though. |
