This game's great! As a bit of Trivia, it came out on some home machines (such as the Speccy and Amstrad) as Psycho Pigs UXB, which is where I played it first. |

No error message here, though I've not had time to test this season's nominations properly yet. I gave this one a quick shot when it was picked, just to be sure I had a working rom and it seemed fine. You may be jumping to conclusions on the tosh front: I recall many hours being spent with Psycho Pigs UXB on the 8-bits so I'm hoping this original version will provide the same playability. If not, perhaps its one of those that benefits from the multi-player experience. And yes, thank you, I did have a most relaxing holiday. 2 weeks lazing around, mucking about on the beach and eating big meals, drinking and taking in a few live shows. Great stuff. Mrs Ant is now online hunting for next year's... |

MMmmm..? Strange... I get: "There are known problems with this game" "Video emulation is not 100%" From level 2 onwards the game is suffering really bad slow down and the graphics start to give me rubbish along the top third of the screen...? I'm running 0.108 MAME32 I did like Psycho pigs USB but I liked the advert a lot more than the game

571,605 When the game finally gets round to starting it's good fun, but the waiting around to play is annoying. A great way to start off the new league! Edit: Opa-Opa, remember the controversy the game advert caused? Great looking advert mind..

Possibly a MAME issue then, there are quite a few in recent releases thanks to the 'accurate' emulation being introduced. Accurate code emulation, yes, accurate graphics and playability, no
I'm running the command line MAME 0.106 with MAME Classic front end. No errors reported in that version so you might want to look at a secondary MAME installation. |

Just beaten my all time high score...![]() Score: 150,030 ![]() I really like this game, I have had no problems running it so far. Perhaps you guys have dodgey roms or something? Saying that the slowdown thing is due to the orignal hardware not the emu. OK so it's not as impressive as mr. Chickens's but I'm still proud lol |

304238![]() Downgraded MAME and have lost the error message but the game still suffers really bad slow down untill some of the pigs have been killed then speeds up, which can cause problems.. Seems to me to be a really fun game, very poorly excecuted... |

opa opa the slowdown is to do with the arcade board itself not the emulation. You gotta remember this game was made way back in the 80's lol. I mean look at the snow levels, there are loads of pigs on screen plus bombs plus the ref etc... Saying that to get better scores try and hit the pink pigs on bonus stages and hit multiple pigs with bomb during regular stages. Oh yeah and use the second button, it's dodges bombs and is very usful just make sure there is no one standing next to you while you do it OK? p.s: try not to get red carded by making explsions near the ref!

Looking forward to playing this one. ATM I am unable to view this forum at home cuz I just got 'new' ADSL2+ Sky Broadband (easynet) and their IP's have not propagated / filtered through yet so some sites think I am using a Bogon IP. Even sites like cnn.com were unavail .. and even worse when I RIPE the IP, it turns out that Sky are using IP's which RIPE thinks originate in Holland ... so If i wanted to listen to BBC football on FiveLive it wouldn't let me because of licencing issues and that the service is not avail for people outside the UK .. argh .. Was even worse on Saturday when none of my torrent sites would work ! .. that really was a 'AAARGH!!!' moment !. Thanks to Paul (Necronom) anyway who very, very kindly emailed me the front page of the Butasan post so I could at least see what we were playing ... thank you again Paul Looks like I will be staying at work for a while .. unless Ant can get a domain name reg'ed for this forum |
