You know, even putting an emulated SID chip through the trauma of playing this game is making me weep... Better score, but stuck on level 1 (ironically, next go I got to night 2, but with less points...) 2850 (Superior did a much better Sinbad game, or there's the excellent Cinemaware title on Amiga and C64...) |

Don't even have to play them, if it has Sinbad in the title it MUST be better than this. Hell, if it has a title full stop it must be better. |

yes, well done indeed. do not envy your position and you handled it well. now all we need is a suitable way of destroying Arabian nights so no-one has to play it ever again... except kaiser who seems to love it. |

Yep, I'm getting very defensive about my selection. You can just feel the hate towards the game!! I lost all my lives to that stupid eagle last night so I can sympathise/empathise. As you can guess I owned this game back in 1984 for my c64. I can still remember going into to Boots to buy it with my Mum (yes, Boots used to sell computer games). £7.95 it cost me, £3 odd was made up with coppers that I had to count out penny by penny while the sales assistant waited. Lucky for you lot my second choice didn't get picked then - BMX Racers by masteronic - now you would have really hated that. There's always next week mind ;). Maybe I'll pick some of the better c64 games for next season, like; Wizball or Giana Sisters |

I'm quite enjoying playing this game - it's much better than the Spectrum version which doesn't even have the same layouts and much worse graphics. It reminds me of an inferior version of Booty by Firebird, which was excellent for the Speccy - hmmm...might pick that next time... Maybe not - just loaded it up, and there isn't a scoring system as such, just the amount of booty grabbed.

Sorry, already spoken for You could always nominate it yourself. Even if I did pick it, this will just increase the chance of it being selected (because there is 2 copies of it in the pool for any selection week). If say, my one is selected, you can then pick another game for your selection that season |

The formula for working out league points also takes into consideration the placing in the league table, so whichever name is put above the other in the spreadsheet will have a higher score due to the altered variable. |

The results are thrown at an Excel spreadsheet. That takes all the names and scores, sorts them into score order and then allocates league points based on those decsions. I assume that Excel sorts alphabetically when the scores are equal. I was tempted to tell you Elgin got bonus points for being Scots, but he gave the game away

talking of the formula.... (YS/BS*50) + ((NOP - YP +1)*(50/NOP)) can this be reversed so that the more points you have the less league points you get??? I have an idea and want to kinda test the water. |

I'd recommend looking for other sites that do similar things to our league and checking to see if they've used racing games, if so ask them how they worked out the points. |

I think I posted how to do level 3 earlier....... but you go up the ladder at the left hand side, and jump on the top platform, and then over to right and get the "R". You have now arrived at the right hand side! I thought you weren't going to play this again!

The only thing I can think of is that I lost two lives on the carpet level, been flying around for ages and then once the bowman got me and another time I hit a tree.. Found out after that you can hide under where your lives counter is and shoot both the archer and the carpet dude without to much moving around. I hope there are some high scoring levels later because if not and you get to the end without losing silly lives, your score could be quiet low..? I have now done the level you are on SirC but with a much lower score because I got through the carpet level first time..? |
