Remember how The ninja ,on the master system ,would continually send you back to a previous stage,if you hadn't found all the scrolls, resulting in a few of us getting some truly massive scores, G n' G has the same warp back feature.

Yes but the warp back is the last level of the game and if you can get to it i'd expect you to be right up at the top of the leaderboard (i've never actually got to the warp even with unlimited continues although i have been close to the end on the real arcade machine). I'm also aware there is a points leeching section in ... level 4 i think it is where you can score enough points for an extra life - die and then do the same again - that wont be allowed if the game is picked (i'll grab some screenshots of the section if the game is chosen to outline what would not be allowed). |

Why the Megadrive version? Seriously it's not that good compaired to the SNES or the Arcade version. (thinking of the whole 3 button thing here...) |

Was assuming the arcade version wasn't really an option, stick wise. Remember playing Mega Drive version and enjoying it. Plus emulators for MD games are really basic.

Yeah, the snes version was a better game all round,as coin op conversions go (ntsc has the speed),and buttons X,Y,A,B were perfect for the right stick controls! |

Hmmm see I was thinking how a pad would work fine for the second stick as I remember the mega drive pad being ok. Reckon the MD version however works ok with keys better than the SNES one will. |

NONONONONONONONONONONONONO Just tried them out, Master System, just awful, nothing more needed. SNES, button config works really well, graphics are good, very good version Mega Drive, Bigger playing area than SNES, faster than SNES, button config good though not as good as snes. By far i'd have to recommend Mega Drive, especially for keyboard users. |

ZSNES & FUSION were used. The NTSC mega drive conversion is a bit faster than the NTSC snes version,(down to the faster processor in the mega drive )with both versions running in the same 1280x800 resolutions for my laptop, the snes has a bigger playing area, both height and width. MEGA DRIVE ![]() SNES ![]() But the deciding factor for me ,which one controls more like the coin ops dual sticks (whether using keyboard/pad controls (resulting in a more enjoyable/playable game)),and that is the Snes ,major things like being able to stand still and fire in every direction, are just not possible on the mega drive three button conversion. |

Looking at that the snes area looks bigger, though it still feels smaller due to thw wall thickness, maybe this is what I was noticing. Still found the snes version to be a duller, slower experience though and MD still better for keys. Though pad wise I totally agree with your pad comments. Just for the record I used ZSNES and GENS. |

Nope this is it. You just need to make sure you have played those 2 games recently and are sure they are appropriate for league play. |

Yeah , 2 of my favourite games from 2 of my favourite systems Stella is a pretty straight forward emulator to use , and obviously everyone has their own favourite speccy emu I step-by-step guide to uploading my scores would be appreciated though |

If you know how to take a screen shot with your emulator ,just take a picture of your score ,then upload that picture to an image hosting site( image shack or any other will do),then just put the link to that picture , on this site ! |

Hi Marvin, welcome aboard! I'm not certain if Dictator (I assume you mean the Don Priestly strategy game) is really suitable for the league... |

That's the one - I suggested it partly because it's a good game everyone should at least try , partly because you get a final score - but mainly because I'm good at it! I can see from the list of games so far though that most are arcade-oriented , so I don't mind changing it for Foundations Waste (ST) |

I think it best if we avoid strategy type games, even though Dictator is very good, and I think that the best type of game for this league is arcade type games that don't take too long to play a game. You don't want to spend hours trying to build up a decent score. |

TBH no - in fact probably the last time was on the actual arcade achine (or it might have been the ST conversion) - I'd totally forgotten all about it , just remembered it when it was mentioned above I remember liking at the time , me being an Indy fan , but maybe that was rose-tinted specs again |

Not sure how much chance I will have to join in and am completely hopeless (ie incapable) with the techy stuff if there is a problem but, I nominate: Twin Cobra - MAME twincobr Gryzor (set 1) - MAME gryzor Please do not hate me if you cannot get either working and I cannot help. If my ineptitude rules out my nominations, so be it. |

tk, as we've already played Metal Slug (back in season 1), would you be prepared to change your nomination? Since they are all very similar - perhaps you could try Gunforce 1 & 2 as an alternative? Unless everyone else is happy playing Metal Slug 3, in which case ignore this. |

Fair enough, it is some time since we played it (season 1), so I see no real problem if others are happy with it. A welcome to Freshmetal as well. If you do come up with at least one nomination by tomorrow, it could be your game picked on Sunday! |

Yeah, if a game is nominated more than once, it ups the chance of it being selected. However if it is selected once, as with every other game, it won't be put up for selection again. |
