OMGZ! .. or whatever the young people say today ... it's one of Opa-Opa's nominations up next ... the fantastic Gunbird 2 Wayhay! - back to shmups! ... and it looks like we are in for quite a treat! Personally I have never played this before but it looks great! ![]() Settings: Looks like we will be using default As always with shooters, NO Continues and NO Autofire allowed. If you would like to turn continues off for convenience, you need to press F2, then go down to 'Game Setting' in order to do this. Buttons: BUTTON 1 This is the primary fire button. Short taps fire the main weapon. At Lv 1 or higher, hold down fire for the burst attack. BUTTON 2 This is the BOMB button. You must have a bomb in stock. A lot of the Psyiko games play the opening few levels in a random order. But you will play all the levels whichever character you pick, and the difficulty level increases as you collect the four gems. I've added some useful info about the buttons to the first post in this thread. And here's my first score: 125200 |

![]() Latest: 208200 Quite like this one, short levels and just on the right side of insane for me. The enemy fire is clear against the background, and gives you just enough time to react to it so that it doesn't seem unfair. Tips so far: Hold down fire for a second for a secondary attack. Some are better than others I find (I like the robot's one personally.) The girl on the broomstick's bomb turns all the shots on screen into candy, which can be grabbed for extra points. Using your bombs at moments where they clear a lot of enemy fire can get a "Nice Bomb" bonus. Not too sure whether the coins get you anything other than points. Anyone? |

Just points for the coins I think, you get more depending on how much of their face is in view. |

Thought you were joking, but it seems that this is indeed the case. It really does make a difference too. I've also occassionally gotten a "spooky face" (not too sure what it is, but you'll know when you see it) appearing just before the cactus area on the desert stage. I'm not sure what triggers its appearance, but if you shoot it, it drop green gems which are good points, and a single blue gem at the end which is worth more. |

Also, re coins, you can 'chain' them if you collect more than one in a row when its fully face on (2000 for the first, 2000 + 500 for the second, and so on). Love this game, got the Gunbird collection for the PS2 a while ago, top nomination. |

I'm finding that the third button short attack can be really lethal againat even the hardest of bad guys - didn't even realise there WAS as 3rd button until I saw the comments some-one has kindly left on here The only difficult decision now is whether to keep my 2nd firebutton finger on the smart bomb or the short attack - I can't handle 3 buttons at the same time with all those bullets to concentrate on! |

As I was saying to SirC in IRC, I ALWAYS check the inputs on a game before I start playing it. To do this, press tab and navigate the necessary menus. Marvin, you get an extra life at 600k. |

There seem.to be times when you 'autofire' for several seconds by first rapidly tapping button 1 then holding it down - doesn't seem to work all the time , so not sure if this triggers it What character is everyone using ? I've found Tavia to be pretty good , especially with a couple of power-ups . Her smart bomb and short range attacks are pretty good also |

http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s18/cla...ague/0002-1.png current score 202300 I'm sure I'll get better , but not much I can see that collecting chains of coins rather than killing bad guys is the way to get a bigscore, which kind of spoils it a bit for me . I think the reason why there's a storyline as the game wants to keep keep 'continuuing' pumping credits in , but after level 2 there are so many bullets on sceen, that unless you've got any smart bombs , it's virtually impossible to continue much further on 1 credit I'm gonna re-assess my comment that some will get millions by pedicting a max score of 500k by anyone |
