Oh dear. This is the game I always ignored in my arcade. Never really taken to it. I'll get ha,,ered this week as I don't have the patience to learn its secrets - it'll be a quick go or two an dpost a score for this one again. |

Sometimes instead of the letters you get a little wonderboy figure for an extra life. I have to confess that when i played this in the arcades i thought you were collecting the letters to spell out SEGA (and yes i realise theres no 'c' in SEGA :-) The amulet and other items are just points |

Versions of mame can be a problem - especially if your moving between a newer and much older one Also the files that TK supplied will need to be unzipped into a specific folder \mame\inp I've just tried it on mine here (mame32 v104) and it does the same (static screen with controls) so its probably down to versions I think i can remember the positions of the first four letters anyway just got confused sometimes with the 2nd and the 4th (2nd i can never remember which island edge and 4th i think is next to the witches egg) |

If you jump over the first wasp on level 1 you get a letter - obviously it's easier if you're nt on the skateboard at the time ! With a little practice it's pretty easy to finish level 1 with 90-100% health and the doll giving you an extra 18-20k- |

Okay i am way out of practice and this is my second go of the game in a long time but if your looking for some of the letters heres a first attempt - it will play fine on mame32 104 at least - i missed the 4th letter and gave up about 1/2 way through the 5th stage (although i uncovered the extra life on that screen) http://www.retroleague.myzen.co.uk/wboy_z.rar Its in an archive format known as rar and the file (only 17k) will need to be uncompressed into the inp folder to play. May as well post this as a score right now as well : ![]() 126040 although i should get a better chance to play on Friday or Saturday night |

67510 NOTE TO ALL PLAYERS RESET your game between attempts. There's a bug, meaning you can earn an extra life on level 1-1 if you collected the three letters during your previous go. |

The best way to deal with the frogs is to just run full-pelt at them and they'll hop over you. NB: some of the later ones will look darker and will be stationary, so this doesn't work with them, but they are easy to kill. |

It's dead easy to kill - jump over the 2 fires , then slowly edge along until you see the frog at the far right hand side of the screen (don't worry he can't see you!) Jump and throw an axe until you hit him - he turns colour and jumps forward one place , but then stays where he is , so you can kill him at your leisure Now I have problems with the end of level cyclops and his unpredictable fireballs I've got there with 4 lives , and lost them all - other times (usually when I'm on my last life!) I kill him first time |

The first end of level boss? He's quite easy, just stand a bit close to him and the fireball always passes over you. Then step back a bit because he comes forward. He doesn't take too many hits to kill, just stand close enough for the fireball to pass over then pelt him in the face. Watch out though, the colision detection sucks a bit there and standing too close kills you. |
