It's nomination time again! Season 10 of the Retro Gaming League starts at 12:00 noon on the 27th of January 2008. The League Rules can be read here Nomination Rules (short version): Post the name of two games you'd like to play in this thread. Revised Nomination Rules (long version): Anyone wishing to participate can nominate 2 games in this thread, all will be added to the random selection for week 1. For these games to be included in subsequent weeks’ draws, players must post a score for the previous week (e.g. for your selection to be in the draw for week 5, you must play and post a score during week 4). Games played during Seasons 1-9 and as Champion's Challenges cannot be nominated for Season 10. Nominations that were not played can be nominated again. All games will be assumed to be the Arcade/MAME versions unless otherwise specified. The MAME ROM name and set should be specified (e.g. ROM pang, World revision). If no ROM or version is specified by the time a new week is drawn, the default/parent ROM and settings will be chosen automatically. Preference should be given to MAME where possible, as it's almost guaranteed all players will already have it. Other formats will be considered, but you will be expected to give fast and effective IT support to any other players who have difficulty with your emulator and/or game should it be selected. Bear in mind not everyone will have that 'Windows 98 only' Oric emulator you love so much or know how it works once its installed Try and nominate games you know if possible. You should also try to pick a game that is SUITABLE for league play, ideally with a high score table. Sequels and variations on games already played will be discussed before being accepted for nomination. (E.G. we've played Super Street Fighter II, so other variations of Street Fighter II would currently be ineligible). Nominations can be changed during the season, provided they meet the above criteria (easy to emulate, not a sequel/variation, has not been played). Any changes to nominations must be made before 1200 on the Saturday to be eligible for the following week's random selection. Buggy Challenge works with video errors, buggy boi seems totally fubarred unless theres a miracle... and wasnt it season 1? so after 10 seasons plus t infinity minus the darkside of a blackhole means its eleigible again or summat.. or did i read that discussion wrong As for Sinistar on keys.. if iam gunna get twatted, may as well do it ib style.. if that comes up, iam going for the WORST score that week  Robin, check your pm's dood! |

I LOVE ARKANOID, while i do have the original controller (spin ball-type controller) that came with the NES version - I do not have an adapter for it to my pc  Arkanoid can not be played with a controller or keys IMHO after using that device. |

I think PM is taking the mick when he suggests arkanoid :D. There are a few games I would like to play but just don't have the proper controllers for viz Xybots, Ikari Warriors, Tank. So In that vein I will nominate the following Millipede - Mame (Personally I would play this with a mouse to move and the keyboard to fire). Make sure you've got "Enable mouse input" set. LED Storm - Amiga - Vertical drive-em-up, Fantastic soundtrack. Some people had probs getting Leander to work so let me know if you want to try another game and I'll have a re-think. |

No, but there are some differences between the arcade and the Amiga versions. For now I'll stick with the Amiga nomination. Those who have nominated MAME - can we get ROM names and the exact VERSION to play sorted out. Buggy Boy is currently PENDING while I investigate if it works. Since it's the arcade game which is different to the C64 version, and it's been a long time*, it may be allowed. Sinistar is currently PENDING until TIF comes up with a new nomination... *Games played in the first five seasons will be eligible again from season 11, but it would be nice to keep playing new things... |

Right, nominations updated ready for the start tomorrow. I've had to disallow Buggy Boy as there are still a lot of problems with it Sinistar is also dropped due to the control difficulties Therefore, Leezer and TIF have a second nomination to use. merman, my nomination of buggy boy junior/speed buggy (upright) - romulan :-buggybjr works 100% in the latest mame, the parent game (buggy boy/speed buggy (cockpit) does not. since i nominated buggy boy junior/speed buggy (upright) - romulan :-buggybjr it should be allowed, has anybody bothered to try it with mame v0.22u7 or not ?? if anyone wants a mame v0.22u7 binary ask me i will upload one. |
