Not played this in years  Level 1.2 is a bit of an arse... the skateboard is more of a hindrance than a help on that level. 46,380

51870 Lazarus: developers Escape retained the rights to the game under license, Sega kept the character. So Escape licensed Hudson to produce a conversion for the NES. But since Hudson owned the rights to the new name and character (Adventure Island) they kept making sequels in the same style, distinct from Sega's Wonder Boy sequels.

30,400 Should have got a better score, but made some stupid mistakes at the end.....finding it a bit more difficult than the Speccy version I'm used to, but it does let me see just how good a conversion the Speccy game was! Sorry again for the freezing issues with Cosmic Guerilla, but having not experienced them in my MAME version, I had no ideas there was any problems....hope you all have better luck with MAME this week!

Wonder Boy is a great arcade game. I mean who knew it would later be the insperation for the Adventure Island Series we would get later, anyhow here is my score: 61600

@ GameMaster007 Here goes; Though it seems you don't read other users posts in these threads..: Please read the rules on MARP: http://replay.marpirc.net/rules/ It states: "n) Submit only games that you feel are worthy of the notice of other MARPers, owing either to personal effort, or display of skill." Also because every upload you make at MARP is saved.. even if you improve your score and upload a new higher score, the old ones will still exist and take up serverspace.. Thanks |

Rooky, your score will count as we have the screenshot as proof. But it is easier to update the scores when we can read them as text on a separate line (and necronom's automated score counter can read them like that too). Well, I'm back and this time I used a better Mame Emulator. First off I'm using MAMEUI32 0.141 this time around for Wonder Boy. Hopefully I have done better this time around than last time, and I'll use MAMEUI32 0.141 from here on out for Wonder Boy. Oh yeah the score, here it is: 119220

139340 I've always loved Wonder Boy. It's the sort of game that seems very simple when you see it, but it's really quite tough, but never unfairly so, and the learning curve is just right, and, with practice, you can get that bit further every time you play. |

Well now, looks as if we will have a great week with Wonder Boy. I been to MARP today to submit another recording for Wonder Boy using MAMEUI32 this time around. Hopefully my skills have improve a little better since last time. I still a rookie at both RetroLeague and MARP, but with a little improvement, and some help from friends like you, maybe I just might be consider a pretty great MARPer and RetroLeager, it will take time though. |

No it doesn't. Just turns it into mario but without the skateboard you have no control. I keep doing the same on 3-3 and 3-4, does my head in. This league has ruined wonderboy for me with how much I played it. Had to have a break on paperboy ha ha gag ah ah |
