Nominations are now open for the Winter Winners competition.

This will be a four-week mini-season with four different games chosen at random from your nominations. Competition starts on Sunday 9th December and finishes on Sunday 6th January. Players can enter a score for any game at any point over the four weeks, and an overall winner will be decided using the usual League scoring methods.

Please pick games that have a winter or Christmas theme to them. Ice/snow levels count.

Games that have been played before in the League are eligible, but will then not be eligible for Season 29 only.

Each player can make two nominations, but please try to stick to the usual standards of picking a game that is easy to emulate and has a clear scoring method.

Nominations to be in by Saturday 8th December:

1. Pengo (MAME)
2. Frostbite (VCS)
3. Eskimo Eddie (Spectrum)
4. Snow Bros (MAME)
5. The Empire Strikes Back (VCS)
6. Batman Returns (NES)
7. Daze Before Christmas (SNES)
8. Santa's Christmas Capers (C64)
9. Antarctic Adventure (MSX)
10. The Snowman (Spectrum)
11. Horace Goes Skiing (Spectrum)
12. Kickle Cubicle (NES)
13. Special Delivery - Santa’s Christmas Chaos (Atari 8bit)
14. The Empire Strikes Back (MAME)
15. Antarctic Adventure (1984) (Konami) (J).rom
16. For the ZX Spectrum: The Snowman

"Thinking" Cannonfodder with those great skidoo levels :)
But reckon the mouse, and scoring and playtime, it's asking for trouble...

Will have to come up with something :)

Struggling to think of suitable games. We already have Empire Strikes Back on VCS, but it's a different beast in the arcades, so I'll nominate it for Mame, if I may. Not very snowy, admittedly, but it is set on Hoth...

I've barely ever played it before mind, but now's as good a time as any to give it a pop.

ok changed my choices.
I remember playing this on an MSX emulator and found it very nice:

Antarctic Adventure (1984) (Konami) (J).rom

For the ZX Spectrum: The Snowman
Never played it but it's a winter theme :)

Okay - games chosen and threads posted - please post in any if there are problems with titles and they can be re-drawn - we have 4 weeks for this challenge to run and then we'll start the new season in January

And many thanks to AJ for the new banner
