Piloting a pie-shaped spacecraft, you must move from sector to sector collecting treasure while avoiding enemies and corner-mounted lasers. The more treasure you have with you the higher your bonus when you reach the goal. A "thief" roams the sectors collecting treasure at the same time, but shooting the thief causes him to drop all his treasure.

Can't control the directional firing at all - is this supposed to be dual stick control? - not suitable for League play as it is...

Passable affair. Poor showing, though - keys maketh this game not easy. Have config'd my keys as Arrows for direction in right hand and similar layout for shooting in left hand. I expect this is a twin-stick affair originally.

No time for much gaming, though. As of Tuesday morning I'm off to watch the sun come up for two weeks. Might get another chance this evening, but if not I'll be back from 20th. As such:

Moderator - remove my noms for the weekend as I have no opportunity to take part whilst away.

Very interesting concept this one. A more open ended robotron but the execution isn't so good. Sometimes death is unavoidable when hitting enemies near the screen edge. Still had three tries so far with ridiculous scores under 10000. I will try to post something tomorrow.

Your games will be removed from the next 2 weeks nominations and then re-added for the following week.

And for those asking - yes its a twin stick shooter like Robotron - controls are 2 joysticks (see original post or the KLOV link - I do try to include control info if possible) - we have played Robotron before and although its difficult with keys it is playable (although very tough) - for me this is a game i've never even heard of before and it looks interesting enough

This does seem to be an interesting game, but it's just not playable - certainly as it was intended - is there any way to achieve 8 way firing - I can't seem to figure it out - as I said before, this game just isn't suitable for (emulated) League play the way that I'm having to play it - it's broken, and therefore no fun - and that's the point, isn't it?

Yes, the controls are basically 2 sticks, so 8 way firing while moving in another direction.... like Robotron.... is how this works.

How are you setting this up? I dunno what version of Mame you're using, but mine divides the controls into two "P1" sticks.... "Left" and "Right" sticks specifically, and then designates directions for each seperately like a normal stick. For example I could set the left stick on WASD and then the right one on the arrow keys, and it works fine.

See if you cant post the problem you're having here, and will try to help if I can.

It's worth noting that the ROM is a little strange at times depending on the Mame version. There's a bunch of roms that have this trait, I generally keep 2 versions of Mame around, the second existing specifically to run the weird ones. Though in this one's case it's nothing to do with controls on my end, it's that it has no display if run on the main Mame setup.

As for me my participation will be relatively limited this week, though not as bad as last week (where I had time to post ONE score and then had to leave).

Forget everything I said :D - I finally got my lazy arse up-and-about-it and took some time to reprogramme the configuration for the directional fire to work with four control buttons on the gamepad - works ok now - and what a fantastic game it is, great risk/reward and bloody hard as well - love it :P

.....well.

Unfortunately, I actually have to step out of this one. The rom is glitching out so freaking hard that it only runs non-invisible about 5% of the time. The other emulater randomly decided "I'M COMPLETELY WORTHLESS, DUUUURRRRRRR" and stopped running it correctly, because.... because it wanted me to delete the hell out of it, probably.

This didnt happen ever when I'd played this before now.

I'm just going to blame the world's worst operating system, and go do something else.

Game is hard -- for the wrong reasons: Move-speed is so fast on such small arenass.. Enemy spawn in front when you're zooming to an exit / The Enforcer often spawns right when changing screens.. :( :)

I believe the default dips are <diff. index 1> (of 99?)...!

Yeah, the game pretty much forces you to race through each room ASAP, since enemies can move from one room to the next to chase you across the map, which is why they appear in doorways.

It's best to not retrace your steps whenever possible. When moving quickly to new rooms, this will tend not to happen, because they're not chasing through those rooms. There's the urge to want to actually clear each room of enemies, but that's usually not the best idea; pop some as you go, and keep rushing.

And the enforcer is a jerk.
