So to close out the season we have Sputryk's nomination of Manic Miner for the Spectrum from 1983 Sputryk did play last weeks games so the debate on eligibility is redundant however I have created a fresh thread to talk about rules here : http://w11.zetaboards.com/RetroLeague/topic/9631734/ WOS Page : http://www.worldofspectrum.org/infoseekid.cgi?id=0003012 ![]() ![]() Not sure if anyone actually needs instructions for this but they are here : ftp://ftp.worldofspectrum.org/pub/sinclair/games-info/m/ManicMiner.txt Scores to be in by 12:00 (noon UK time) next Sunday the 1st of December Final Scores: 1) 103489 - Sputryk = 100.00 points 2) 36681 - DaLar = 63.18 points 3) 19234 - a.j.green = 50.20 points 4) 17730 - necronom = 44.93 points 5) 15374 - Macias = 39.25 points 6) 11353 - clarance = 32.76 points 7) 6628 - pokemonsam = 25.93 points 8) 5679 - TodayIsForgotten = 20.93 points 9) 4604 - zaphod79 = 15.86 points 10) 4485 - Ralph Wiggum = 11.26 points 11) 3291 - deadpan666 = 6.14 points Edited by necronom, 2 Dec 2013, 09:05 AM.

[edit - this post was in response to an issue that has since been moved] In my defence: Yes, I requested my noms to be withdrawn from the selection process due to my holiday. HOWEVER... I DID post a score in the Aero Fighters week, so my noms are surely automatically re-entered into the draw for the next week (being this week). Any thereby no rules have been broken. In fact, just to ratify my entries: Week 7 I finished 12th (a solitary game prior to flying); Week 8 missed; Week 9 I finished 5th (one behind you, Clarence). As for MM, way back when I cracked 250k - whether I can do that again will all depend on Level 19 (which beat me last time in this league). Fingers crossed!

This is a game that gets annoying after a while. Annoying that earlier 'easier' levels have to be repeatedly repeated to reach the next new and 'harder' level that beats you every game. So, and delete this post if you wish to mods, here's help to practice all levels. Start the game and on Level 1 type in the following number - 6031769. If it works, you should now find a boot next to your spare lives. You can now access any level. To do so, hold down all at the same time a combination of numbers from 1 to 6. Number 6 is always included. Level 1 is number 6. The Warehouse (Level 17) is 56. I don't remember all numbers, nor for which level they refer (I'm sure Google will help). HOWEVER, I think it would be more appropriate if a posted score does NOT show the boot, thereby preventing anyone from repeatedly playing an easy level over and over again to amass a good score. So, if by mentioning this access code is a breach of any Rules, perhaps the method of posting a screeny will reassert matters. NO BOOT. Therefore reboot the game once you have finished practicing. Whereas all levels are quite straightforward, requiring timing skills only, The Warehouse will leave bewbies scratching their heads. You'll see why. The only tip I will give for this level is to jump over the first bush. Edited by Sputryk, 25 Nov 2013, 12:29 AM.

33,566 Dagnabit! Had 5 lives starting the Generator. I had worked out what to do beforehand, but when it came to the crunch.... BAH! I'm gonna crack this game before the week is through. L19 (Geneator) is all that stands between me and at least one loop of the game - all levels are, in all honesty, proving very straightforward (even The Warehouse!), save for 19 which isn't helped by the rapid depletion of air when you cross the light beam. Compared with all the others, 19 is really rather crude in fairness. |

103,489 Yeah! 4th Circuit. Silly lives lost as it is getting late and I'm sleepy. No more, though; that's it for me until Season 32. |

Low turnout for this week. What's up wi y'all? Forgotten your digging equipment? DaLar has a chance of being Champion if TiF remains quiet.... And what about you, Mis? It's not a shooter this week! ![]() |

3291 Been missing quite a few weeks yet again due to stupid bloody computers and unexpected real-life stuff! Hopefully have better luck next season... Anyhoo...I've always been crap at Manic Miner! My excuse is that I didn't get a Speccy until 1989, meaning I was playing stuff like Chase HQ and Batman The Movie and so didn't really put much time into playing this...
