4- Pac-Mania: Never liked pacman, and this one only manages to add complexity to a game that didn't need it. 3- UN Squadron: I'm usually not very demanding with shmups, but this rubbed me the wrong way. Kind of annoying really 8- Jetpac (Speccy): Great little game. Still very playable nowadays 7- Prehistoric Island 2: Well, it has Dinosaurs, so it's good enough. 6- Sky Kid: Simple yet fun game. I was incredible rubbish at it though 7- Solomon's Key: Good game. Lots of secrets made it more replayable than what seemed at first 2- Space Dungeon: Interesting concept but rubbish controls. Didn't play anything more this season due too lack of time. Or maybe it was Dark Souls fault instead. Edited for scores Edited by RuySan, 6 Dec 2013, 09:49 AM.

9 - Jetpac - Classic little shooter 9 - Manic Miner - Classic platformer 9 - Solomons Key - Great find, challenging yet never (or rarely) unforgiving 7 - Prehistoric Isle 2 - Very good fun. Darn that purple spiky beast! 7 - Sky Kid - Nifty little game 6 - Pacmania - Neat twist on the classic (though boring) original 6 - UN Squadron - Flawed, but an entertaining shooter 6 - Aero Fighters - Another entertaining shooter 2 - Space Dungeon - Didn't have very long at all to get to grips with this. Keyboard play made it harder than necessary. What little of it I saw didn't really entertain me Didn't play Space Corridor as I wasn't around. Overall, an excellent league; one of the most enjoyable to-date. Fingers crossed Season 32 proves likewise! |

Jetpac - 9/10 - Brilliant. The bad collision detection cost me about half my lives, so it doesn't get a 10 because of that. Manic Miner - 8/10. A classic, but a combination of having played it before in the league, the ludicrous top score, and a lack of time to play meant I didn't play it too much. Aero Fighters - 7/10. Good fun. Prehistoric Island 2 - 6.5/10. Good, but nothing special. U N Squadron - 6/10 - Okay, but the end of levels were too hard. Light Corridor - 6/10. Something out of the ordinary. Pac-Mania - 6/10 - Not too bad. Sky Kid - 6/10. Quite good, and I liked the funny music. Solomon's Key - 4/10. Didn't like it. Space Dungeon - 4/10. It could have been good, but ended up almost unplayable. |

You're welcome, Nec. Had it not been late and night and feeling sleepy, I was confident of 250k and more. Level 19 is the do-or-die stage - manage it and looping becomes second nature, screw up and frustration sets in. If this title appears again.... |

I played it once with infinite lives. I still couldn't finish it. |

If it is a certain screen you are stuck on and get sick of going through them all to reach it each time, try this: Start the game. Type in this number: 6031769 You should see a boot appear next to your remaining lives. You can now choose any level to play. All level numbers include the number 6. Level 1 is simply 6. Level 17 (The Warehouse) is number 56. Hold down all required number keys together to change screens. I forget what all the numbers are and which screens they take you to. All include number 6 and no number is greater than 6. Searching Google will find you all combinations. Maybe if MM appears again I will give a walkthrough for each level.... |

This season had by far the best selection of games of the three seasons i've been involved so far. Too bad I had little time to play some of these. My ratings: Aero Fighters - 9/10 The game responsible for my renewed interest in shoot em ups after I discovered MAME and most of the 90s stuff. May seem generic (and probably is) but it's really well executed and it established conventions later recycled by Psikyo in their best games. Pac-mania - 8/10 The first and still the best Pac-Man game I've ever played. Jetpac - 8/10 An all-time classic. I was thinking about nominating it myself. Perhaps not the best game to play for score, but still incredibly playable for a 1983 release. Prehistoric Isle 2 - 7/10 Great graphics, and I really hated it when this pre-rendered stuff replaced proper pixel art. Here it's really well done. The game's good too. UN Squadron - 7/10 Generic but fun horizontal shmup. Much better than the dreadful Amiga conversion. Sky Kid - 7/10 This is one game I regret not having more time to play. Seemed really fun. Manic Miner - 6/10 Didn't think I'd still enjoy Manic Miner, but I did, for a while. Probably because I didn't remember almost anything except the first room and finding the right solution for each level is what makes this game fun. But it becomes repetitive and frustrating after a while. Light Corridor - 6/10 After my initial reaction (wtf?) it turned out to be a quite interesting take on the genre. Solomon's Key - 5/10 An okayish platformer. Knowing where all the hidden stuff is seemed like a big deal in some of the stages. Which is fine if you have a lot of time to explore the game and uncover it's secrets. Which I didn't. Space Dungeon - 3/10 The obligatory "too old and primitive for me to enjoy" game. There must be at least one each season. |

Pac-Mania, 8/10: I've always liked this one, but never been all that great at it. Used to rent the NES version often. An interesting spin on the usual Pac-man formula. UN Squadron, 3/10: Enemy patterns..... repeating too often..... Jetpac (Speccy), ?/10: Missed this one. Prehistoric Island 2, 3/10: If I recall correctly this one was a bit too simple/easy for my tastes; didnt hold my attention. Sky Kid, 8/10: Ahh, this one was a pleasant surprise. I'm going to try to get the NES version now, methinks. Solomon's Key, 7/10: Another good one. It hates me though. Space Dungeon, argh/10: I love this game WHEN IT FREAKING WORKS. Mame randomly decided "HERP DERP DURRRRRR" and refused to work quite right with it. Light Corridor (Speccy), ?/20: Missed it. Aero Fighters, 1/10: No Manic Miner, ?/10: Missed it. |

I'd certainly recommend giving the missed Jetpac and Manic Miner a blast each, Mis. Spectrum gaming with some of gaming world's finest (if somewhat archaic). |

I've played them both actually, come to think of it. Jetpac is pretty nice. Manic Miner usually just consists of long strings of swearwords that I may or may not have made up at the time. Strange controls for that one. |

Ahhh, ok, that did sound kinda stupid when said that way, didnt it... What I meant was, the character's movement/jumping seems odd to me overall. |
