Anyone remember DisneyQuest? No? I didn't think so..well, it was a competitor to Chuck E. Cheese's in the '90s by Disney and it failed miserably. The only location left is in Walt Disney World. |

Wait, Disney Quest had other locations besides the one in Downtown Disney? That's news to me. I remember back in '08 when we were at Disney we looked at the prices, and were just like "nope." It doesn't even sound that fun to begin with. Looks like a rundown video arcade that's stuck in the 90s. |

No, WWIII would be if Apple or Google bought Disney... and then bought the entire planet Earth. Google Earth indeed... |

Disney is not buying CEC. Disney already tried off-site FECs and it was a failure. |

I went to DisneyQuest many years ago and it's a multi-level arcade with classic machines and a slew of gimmicky rides/attractions. The only such ride I remember going on is a Buzz Lightyear cart ride where you fire balls from a front-mounted canon at other drivers. If you get hit, your car rapidly spins around 'out of control' for a few seconds before righting itself so you can drive it some more. The carts encase you in plexiglass so you don't get whacked by the dodge balls. I vaguely remember a virtual reality game where you sat on a stool as well where you had a huge VR thing over your head and you swung a lightsaber-type sword around to play it. Surely DisneyQuest never made it outside Downtown Disney because of how bloody expensive it is to go there and have fun. Back when I went it had to have been at least $30/person to even walk in the door, and I feel like I'm low-balling that number. Yes, you buy tickets at the front door to get in. I think they had several different packages wherein the more you spent the more you could do. Ridiculous business model! |

Well, I'd agree with you but it's a family entertainment center just like any other non-CEC/PTT/SPP arcade on this particular sub-forum. I think this thread sort of skirts the line between needing to moved versus staying put. |
