Hi! I'm VJ. Some of our newer members might not have seen me around the forums since I was absent for most of October and November, not realizing we had a huge surge of activity during that time that's still going strong. I was a part of the old ShowBiz Pizza Forum since...2005, I'd say? My memory's fuzzy but 2005 seems right. I was one of the younger members. When the forum started having the on-and-off downtime, I decided to give fans a place to be able to still talk about CEC, Pizza Time Theatre and Showbiz Pizza without having to worry about downtime so I created The ShowBiz Lounge group on Facebook. It slowly grew and by the time the forum closed permanently due to unfortunate circumstances, the group was already popular and huge and showing no signs of slowing. But we (meaning the admins and I) always had the forum in the back of our minds. We knew that without the forum, the SBL probably wouldn't be as popular. But we also knew the forum, or another forum, deserved to be there for members who didn't use Facebook. After two or so years of nurturing the group, Brandon brought up the forum idea and how he thought a new forum would be a good idea. A few months later, in October of this year, we finally begun concrete work on making that idea happen. We talked to Travis, creator of the original forum, and brought him on as a consultant to make sure we were doing things as they should be done because, let's face it, the majority of us, excluding Brandon, had very little experience running forums. We spent a few weeks planning and preparing, and once we had the forum operational but not yet open, we brought on a team of testers to help us work out kinks and bugs, those people being Andrea, Evan and Austin. They helped us so much and so well that, after the forum officially opened, we decided to bring them on as moderators! Andrea has also helped us greatly in the graphics department, creating both of our forum banners, and there's no way we could ever thank her enough. Brandon helped us by educating the rest of us about the inner-workings of a forum and he's handled coding as well. Overall, Retro Pizza Zone was a labor of love in all senses of the word, and I couldn't be happier that we finally have it ready for you to have fun in and talk about CEC, SPP and PTT in! -VJ Edited by VJ, Dec 12 2014, 09:11 AM.
