Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum and to animatronic shows in general. I have never actually seen a Chuck E. Cheese or Rock-afire show first hand. It was actually a certain computer game that got me interested in animatronics. I'm sure you all know what game I'm talking about.... While it was intended to be scary I found the the animatronics more endearing than frightening. I started researching real animatronics and I discovered the Rock-afire Explosion videos on Youtube. I found the shows so great to watch and the characters so entertaining. Recently I've been reading more and more about animatronics which brought me to this forum. After lurking for a while I finally decided to make an account. I live in British Columbia, Canada and I enjoy collecting toys, particularly LEGO, Transformers, GI Joes and Marvel superheroes. I enjoy all sorts of video games and computer games. I also have an interest in world history. I have been to Chuck E. Cheese several times as a kid. I even had a birthday party at CEC. While I remember the games and food I don't remember the animatronics ever being turned on for some reason. I'm looking forward to chatting with everybody here and leaning more about animatronics! |

Welcome to the forum. There is a RAE show in Kelowna BC, so you could see them in person. I don't think anyone here has been to see this show, so how well it's maintained is unknown. http://scandiagolfandgames.com/parties/ |

Welcome! I also find those characters in "that game" endearing. Frankly, to me it's no longer a horror game. It's more like babysitting a crew of temperamental animatronics. XD |

If you've never seen a Rock-afire Explosion or CEC show in person, you're truly in for a spectacular experience. Seeing these characters perform in person is surreal, and is totally unique. They are life-sized, and it feels like you're in front of the most advanced show ever. Come visit Creative Engineering, or your local existing stage Chuck E. Cheese's!

80sgirl: Thanks! I didn't know that their was a RAE in my home province. I might have to plan a trip some time to see it. I wonder if it works though, judging from some reviews that place is kinda questionable. Clockwork: Thanks for the welcome. I find that game to be like horror-comedy because of the cute animatronics as the antagonists. I'm surprised at how well it took off actually. theanimatronichusband: Thanks! CECFlorida: Thanks. I do hope to see a real animatronics show one day. Judging from the Youtube videos they look like they'd be so much fun to watch. I've always found robots to be awesome, ever since I was a little kid. |

Welcome! What kind of Transformers do you collect? I love the G1 Combiners, myself. Trypticon has been on my wishlist for years.

Thanks for the welcome. I started collecting them back in 2007 with the movie Transformers, but since then I've expanded to getting a little of everything. I have just about all of the Classics and Universe figures, which are basically modern remakes of the old G1 figures. Since then I've expanded into buying the older "Unicron trilogy" Beast Wars, RiD, and G1 figures. Close to where I live they have a great store called Toy Traders that has lots of vintage Transformers from all different eras. I also actually play with my Transformers, and all the toys I buy. They can be a lot of fun. Edited by toycollector, Jan 2 2015, 03:46 AM.

Hey! Welcome to the forum! I know what you're saying about 'that game' I've had lots of curious fans checking out the CEC vids on my YouTube Channel, and most of them are finding out that CEC animatronic characters are cool, NOT scary! |

Thanks! That's pretty much how I got interested in animatronics. I just looked up "singing animatronics" on Youtube and saw that they were all really cool. It was actually the video of the RAE singing Hips Don't Lie that got me really interested in them. Now I'm researching all sorts of stuff about CEC and Showbiz. The real thing is way cooler than the game version in my opinion. |
