I'm talking about having YouTube videos show up as a video instead of a link, like so: I just recently found how to do this myself, and that was only because another board I am on uses the same system and I figured it out there. So if you want to know how to make YouTube videos show up in your posts, this is what you do: 1.) Open the video you want to embed in another window or tab, then highlight the URL in the address bar and copy it. You MUST use the link from the address bar. You cannot use the youtu.be link in the share section. ![]() 2.) Click the gear icon to see the maximum resolution. The lower the maximum resolution, the smaller you want the window because low-res videos look like crap in a big window. In this case, it's 240p because this is a standard definition video from 1982, so we want to keep the window small. ![]() 3.) Click the Share button and select Embed, then click Show More. ![]() 4.) Click the drop down arrow next to Video Size to see the different sized windows the video supports. In this case, I want 480 x 360. ![]() 5.) Now we go back to the new post/reply screen on the board and click the Flash button. ![]() 6.) You will see this window pop up. ![]() 7.) Paste the URL for the video in this box. If you copied the URL from a playlist page, it will have an & symbol after the link along with a bunch of other code and you must trim that part off starting with the &. Click OK. ![]() 8.) Next it will ask you the height. You get this information from the dropdown list on the YouTube page. It is the number on the RIGHT. Enter it in the box and click OK. ![]() 9.) Next it asks you the width. This is the number on the LEFT. Enter it and click OK. ![]() 10.) The window will disappear and you will see something like this in your text box. That's your embedded video. You can move it around in your post wherever you wish by cutting and pasting this string of text. ![]() Notice the format. It's always FLASH=WIDTH,HEIGHT. Pretty soon you won't even need to use the button and can type the command right from the quick reply box. Now others can enjoy watching your videos right from the board.
